January 2, 2023The first of two BDSM/DD/Age Play volumes dedicated to erotic author Maren Smith. Before I get to my review, I want to offer my sympathies for her devastating loss.
Given its purpose, I'm not going to rate either book: the dedications alone make it clear that this is a labor of love. I will, however, leave my thoughts for each individual story since, at the end of the day, the collection is marketed and sold on Amazon to be read. Overall, I have three general reactions. First, if this was written to provide support for the author which I assume is at least partly economic, I don't understand why it's on KU or in the ARC Program. I suppose that the former (which is how I got it) does produce some modicum of recompense, but ARCies? Exactly what "support" are they contributing here? Second, many of these stories contain triggers that not only should have been in the blurb, but also may turn off potential buyers. I've included some that bothered me below. Finally, as the blurb states, many have been published before (some in anthologies no longer available); thus, avid readers may already have them.
Stories (in order of appearance):
1) "Treasured Discipline," Delta James/Willa Bradley. A re-release of His to Treasure. Didn't read.
2) "Clandestine Daddy," Linzi Basset. A prequel to a new BDSM series set in Louisiana, Club Rouge. Didn't read.
3) "Life's Unexpected Gifts," Livia Grant. A re-release of Life's Unexpected Gifts; also found in Return to Corbin's Bend. Part of a series set in a patriarchal spanking community; the sequel is in the next book. I want to warn potential readers that it includes memories of childhoodbeatings spankings and that an adult brother spanks his adult sister, which I consider incest-adjacent.
4) "Master D's Naughty Gift," Ann Jensen. New. Part of the Club Valhalla BDSM series, Master Thor; another couple we briefly see here get their story in the next volume. A dom and a sub have been dancing around each other for weeks; tonight is going to be different... I've never read this author and doubt I will again since I'm not into TGR or TPE. I appreciated the consent, safewords, and diversity in representation. The prose needed another edit. Praise kink.
5) "Jolly Green Giant Daddy," Allysa Hart/Rayanna Jamison. Previously published in Dirty Daddies: 2021 Anniversary Anthology. Didn't read.
6) "Maud and The Secret Society of St. Valentine," Emily Tilton. Previously published in Bound, Spanked and Loved: Fourteen Kinky Valentine's Day Stories. Didn't read.
7) "A Little Adjustment," Kate Oliver. New. To save his floundering marriage, Brady springs 24/7, hard-core Age Play with no limits on his unwitting wife, threatening to divorce her if she doesn't comply. The author tries to make this palatable, but it really isn't. Even in novella-length erotica, years-long marital problems aren't going to be solved by emotional blackmail.
8) "Marrying a Murderer," Vanessa Brooks. Previously available, I believe, only via the author's newsletter. Verity marries widower Jake, but she suspects he committed the murder she witnessed. Jake has more respect for his wife than is usual in this genre and Verity is very likable. I will say this takes the "miscommunication" trope to a whole new level.
9) "Too Strong to Be Weak," Delia Grace. New; the author indicates she'll continue the couple's story. A military man home on leave tries to lessen the burden on his over-worked wife. I applaud the novella's depiction of the challenges military spouses face, but found the church angle hard going since I'm not religious.
10) "Stealing Summer," Nicolina Martin. New. Bad boy Stephen falls for good girl Summer. As usual with this author's work, the prose is descriptive, the emotions visceral, the MFC strong. Tropes include Age Gap and a literal cabin romance. Some abrupt transitions, narrative ellipses (did I miss when she left school?), inconsistencies (Summer does or does not read classics; she does or does not take care of her mother), and no discussion of condoms (which, given their situation, begs disbelief). Note: Is there no public library in this town?
11) "Behind Closed Doors," Cooper McKenzie. I believe new. Alaina is miserable on her 30th birthday; can Gray cheer her up? This is very much the "Beautiful All Along" trope and almost pure erotica, but you really root for the intelligent, ill-used Alaina and Gray is perfect.
12) "A Cowboy to Call Her Own," Laylah Roberts. A re-release of A Cowboy To Call Her Own. This features Ms. Roberts's usual Damsel in Distress and her Knight in Shining Armor. Reggie isn't the hot mess the author's later heroines become; it was completely consensual with safe sex practices; and Alex really cared for her. One scene was too much for me.
13) "Double Dose of Discipline," Stella Moore/Golden Angel. New. Part of the Rawhide Ranch Age Play series and sequel to A Little Double Wedding: A Rawhide Ranch Story; here, the two newly-wed couples honeymoon. Heavy on punishment and not much else. Skimmed.
14) "His Captured Prey," Sadie Marks. New. Sci-fi. Didn't read.
15) "Deathless Love," Renee Rose. Previously published as Deathless Love. PNR. Didn't read.
16) "Reel Love," Maren Smith. A re-release of B-Flick; part 1950s exploitation film, part "Groundhog Day;" part "Pleasantville," part "Sherlock, Jr," and a whole lot of meta.
Within its sub-genre limitations, the duet does contain variety.
Finally, I want to say because for some reason I've read umpteen books recently where this occurs, but I don't understand all this lovingly recounted fetishization of child abuse. Is this a new kink that I'm missing? Because I don't know who all these memories of children being beaten, oh, sorry, "spanked" (with belts, paddles, hairbrushes -- fun & groovy times!) are supposed to turn on, but it wasn't me. I would have thought this would be a no-brainer, but can we just leave children out of erotic practices, please?

Reel Love by Maren Smith
This was a fabulous story! The world was so real, so rich, you were right there with the characters. The premise fresh and fun, the attraction electric (lol), and the conclusion perfect. These two get to know each other under duress, but they make it work for them. Loved it!

Book 2 - Clandestine Daddy (A Club Rouge: Louisiana Daddies Prequel) by Linzi Basset - DNF at chapter 5 - Poor writing, extremely cringey dialogue and DD/lg isn't my thing, this one wasn't for me.
Book 3 - Life’s Unexpected Gifts by Livia Grant - DNF a few pages in. Absolute nope. A grown ass man spanking his adult sister. Gross.
Book 4 - Master D’s Naughty Gift (Masters of Midgard) by Ann Jensen - This one was fun, kinky and sweet, definitely a winner.
Book 5 - Jolly Green Daddy by Allysa Hart and Rayanna Jamison - Not for me, I mostly skimmed it, it was funny though.

I didn't realise that's what this collection was, because of the title, I thought it was domestic discipline, I didn't realise it was mostly daddy kink. Absolutely not for me.

I have read some of these stories before, so I won’t be reading them again. But I do have those reviews and add to this. I did not read all the stories. I do not know all the authors.
Jolly Green Daddy – Rayanna Jamison & Allysa Hart
I read this one back in October 2018. Arianna is a princess but her parents are no more. She will now have to fight to get back the realm that was her families from an old sea hag names Lamia. Lamia has enchanted the people making them believe that she is the most beautiful as well as Queen. Greyson knows different and he will not stand by at let her take what belongs to Ari away from her. But the hag changes him into an Ogre. Now how is he to save Ari and himself?
This is like a combination of Little Mermaid meets Beauty and the Beast meets Cinderella with a wicked twist. I have to say it is most definitely an interesting twist. I can see Ursula trying to be Queen, Belle or Cinderella trying to win back her kingdom. Grayson could be any of the Princes but I figure more Eric. It’s all fun.
Behind Closed Doors – Cooper McKenzie
Alaina hated her job and her clothes. Some 30th birthday. When her present to herself gives her a great pleasure that a neighbor sees her release. Her birthday wishes comes true. Gray Whoophe didn’t mean to spy on his neighbor but her tempting body was just too much. He was going to be her birthday present and more. This was a quick “how do you do.” With one wish in Alaina’s backyard, he receives a hunky Marine names Gray. He brings her pleasure but also has her breakdown her walls. All the negative feelings she had about herself was hard to overcome but with Gray it was possible.
Double Dose of Discipline – Golden Angel and Stella Moore
This takes places after the the couples wed. You might want to read, “Little Double Wedding” first. This is the honeymoon. Connor, Hayleigh, Saul, and Vicky just so happen to be booked at the same island. But the guys want time with their girls, not them communicating and hanging with each other. But never try to keep Littles apart. They find a way. It’s a cute story and good to know that they are still having fun even on their honeymoon.
Deathless Love – Renee Rose
I read this one back in December 2015. After her band, Morph performance, Kate stumbles upon her band mate Fox with his fangs out. She didn’t know that he was a vamp, or did she? She learns that the trio, Fox, Stella and Dom are all Vamps. But she has to keep the secret. Stella flirts with Kate which makes it fun. Fox is very protective of Kate. He wants to make sure Dom doesn’t use her. And Dom, well he doesn’t want to fall for a mortal but she tempts him at every turn. But being a singer isn’t the only thing Kate wants. She is trying to finish her thesis, she works his children, and she has a big heart. Dom can’t stay away from her. I do love that he tries but she just keeps pulling him back. He should have known from the first time he saw her that he would never be able to let her go. I do love that. You really need to read, “Deathless Discipline” as well.
Reel Love – Maren Smith
Audrey is just settling in to watch come movies. Everything is set. When a freak lightning strike hits her DVD player while she is getting it started, ZAP. “How did I get here?” Yep, she is now part of the story in the movie she placed in the player. She’s lucky though, the hunky hero, Morgan has been stuck in the movie a lot longer and knows what to do. If you have ever seen the movie “Purple Rose of Cairo” you can understand. I think it is funny that Morgan keeps telling Audrey what to do to move to the next scene but she keeps messing around and making it repeat. It’s a cute romance.

This is the first volume of two volumes of stories published to support Maren Smith, who lost her father and husband in a car crash in 2022.
The stories all have discipline/spanking. Some are HOH/TIH. Some are Daddy Dom. Some are DDlg. So there are a variety of kinks/subgenres, some of which will appeal to any given reader more than others.
Most are contemporary. Some are more fantastic. A few are novella/short novel length. Most are shorter. And, sure, the quality varies.

Kaden runs a black ops recovery company and a founder of Club Rouge
Sage is an undercover FBI agent who gets into the club under false pretenses to track a crooked congressman.
Sage finds out she is submissive and would like a Daddy (modulo her sass level). Sage gets on the radar of some very high-up and very dangerous people.
A nice mix of discipline scenes and peril. This is a prequel to a full book -- _Black Ops Daddy_.

What an amazing mix of stories, with some previously published but no longer available stories mixed in with newly developed stories. I am reviewing my favorites here, but all of these authors are excellent story tellers.
Treasured Discipline (Delta James writing as Willa Bradley) - I have never read one of Willa Bradley's stories, but I love Delta James so I was very excited. A historical/contemporary crossover we get pirates, treasure hunters and disciplining Doms, oh my. Any insta-love story that warmed my heart.
Life's Unexpected Gift (Livia Grant) - Wow, I loved this story of Hallie and Troy.
The author did a great job of explaining the different between an abusive relationship and a HoH/DD one. And, a little birdie told me Troy's sister's story is in Volume 2, so yay!
Master D's Naughty Gift (Ann Jensen) - This story may be a quickie, but it's oh so good. Part of the Masters of Midgard series, it is completely stand alone so no worries if you haven't already read the other books. Nyra is at the club on a visitor's pass when she runs into her nemesis. But it's her who receives the punishment. Thanks to her BFF Mel she gets the Dom she's been lusting after, Master Derrick. Hawt scenes, HEA and woo hoo, We get BFF Mel's story in Volume 2.
Jolly Green Daddy (Allysa Hart and Rayanna Jamison) - A short read, previous published part of the Fantastical Daddy Doms series. Kind of a twist on Jack and the Beanstalk this story is fantasy fun gone wild.
A Little Adjustment (Kate Oliver) - Kate Oliver is a newer to me author, but I've found once I started, I began to devour her books. This novella, stand-alone was no different. This is the story of Brady and Cassie, an already established married couple. I've always been fascinated by the stories where the couple is already together and we get to see how love lasts through all the ups and downs of being together. The secret getaway Brady planned is going to give them both what they need. Great HEA.
A Cowboy to Call Her Own (Laylah Roberts) - This story is proof, Laylah Roberts can do no wrong. A re-print of an older book from 2012, this cowboy story gives us all the good feels. Great HEA.
A Double Dose of Discipline (Stella Moore and Golden Angel) - Oh these sneaky authors. I was just complaining their wedding story kind of ended abruptly when they headed off for the honeymoon and ta-do, here is the rest of the story tied up in a neat little bow. Thank you both, I'm in my happy little place.

Reel Love (Maren Smith) - Wow, what a unique and amazing story. So different, but I really liked the concept.
Overall I loved this book and the stories and can't wait to see what volume 2 has to offer.

I can't believe I read the whole thing!
There was a reason I quit reading anthologies. I will admit this one had only that was all about promoting a series. The rest were mostly complete stories. But, there was still the good, the bad, and the ugly. There were a couple of stories I really enjoyed, though they were novel size then the novella I was expecting. Good, but not a bedtime tale. Then there were the stories that weren't my kink. Not a fan of littles, though I read them anyway. Some were okay, but the Jolly Green Daddy? Usually I enjoy fairytales, but that one got an eye roll. I kept nibbling away, looking for a gem. Marrying a Murderer read like a rerun for me. Behind Closed Doors didn't disappoint. A cowboy to Call Her Own caught my attention. This Author made my new-author-for-me list. Deathless Love was surprisingly good, though that too was more than novella size. Then we get to ugly, Reel Love. So not a fan of this kind horror. I don't watch that kind of movie. Although I did read it all. I wanted to finish the book. But really? I am not sure if that last story was even eye roll worthy. But overall, for an anthology, this wasn't bad.

This is a great collection of authors. Supporting a fellow author is an amazing thing. I have read many of these authors so you won’t hear any complaints from me. They have come together with unavailable, old or even brand spanking new stories.
I always enjoy reading Linzi Bassett. Her Clandestine Daddy introduces Sage, a strong, independent FBI agent going undercover to a BDSM Club. Sage is getting more than she bargained for going in without knowing anything about the club.
Kade is the owner and knows something is not quite right with Sage and he’s willing to take her in hand just to find out what it is. Now that he’s been with her he knows she’s meant to be his. Now he just has to convince her of it.
Can’t wait for more from this couple.
This Anthology has a great assortment stories especially if your looking for something new to read. This collection is for you.

A reasonable collection of stories which provide good value compared to purchasing them separately. My review is based on these books:
Treasured Discipline - Delta James writing as Willa Bradley
I have never read one of Willa Bradley's stories, but I love Delta James. This was a historical/contemporary crossover with pirates, treasure hunters and a couple of disciplining Doms. I enjoyed it but It didn't sweep me away.
A Cowboy to Call Her Own - Laylah Roberts
I enjoyed this story with the introduction of a woman who was running away from an abusive ex to "domestic discipline" aka BSDM-like DDLG. I enjoyed the story and it was wonderful to see the way that he worshipped her even if she had to have her behaviour corrected sometimes.

I'm not new to these authors, I've read most of their books, and they never disappoint me with the books they write.
And the anthologies are extremely good, I didn't even know that I liked them until I started reading the DDPR anthologies.
There are 16 stories here, I've read most of them, and they were really good, exactly what I expected in a discipline book.
If you're looking for short fun stories about discipline with nothing hard core, then this book and book 2 are what you need.
And, I wish all the best for Maren Smith, an amazing author that I enjoy reading for, her publishing company is one of my favorites as well.

This is the first volume of Dirty Discipline; an anthology all to support Maren Smith, an author of this amazing DD, ddlg, and age play community. Not only does this anthology goes towards an amazing cause but it is filled with so many amazing short stories, novella and novels. There is such a variety of discipline romances.
Jolly Green Daddy by Allysa Hart and Rayanna Jamison puts a fun twist on the tale of Jack and the Beanstalk.
A Cowboy to Call Her Own by Laylah Roberts overall was a sweet and emotional read. There is a bit of danger and suspense which added to the engagement of the story.
Reel Love by Maren Smith was one of my favorites in this anthology. It is fun, original and witty. It is a quick read that is very enjoyable.

First of all, I love that all these authors got together to support their fellow author, Maren Smith, in her time of need. I love Maren's stories. This is the first anthology and has some of my favorite authors in it. Each of the stories are wonderful with some being fast reads and some taking a bit longer. Some of my favorites are.........A Little Adjustment by Kate Oliver............A Cowboy To Call Her Own by Laylah Roberts.................A Double Dose of Discipline by Golden Angel and Stella Moore and Deathless Love by Renee Rose. If you have a chance, pick this up and settle in for some really good stories!!!!

What an incredible collection. Insta love from Delta James, DD from Livia Grant that you cannot get else where. Nicolina Martin gives us an addition to the West Coast Dom’s, Linzi Bassett has a great story that introduces us to what looks like a great new series. If you read A Little Double Wedding be sure to read A Double Dose of DisciplIne as it is Vicky and Hayleigh’s honeymoon. There is everything in this anthology from Vampires to a Jolly Green Giant and being trapped in a move. There is something for everyone and so much more.

If you love stories with a bit of a bite, you will absolutely love reading the stories. I thoroughly enjoyed reading each and everyone of the stories and be to recommend them to anybody who enjoys this type of story there is plenty of heat to keep you warm enough on a cold winters day. Each story is different brings a happily ever after at the end.

The kinky gang is all here but the reason behind this amazing series of reads is a sad one but I am so happy to see that the reader community sticks together better than almost any other. This is a treat for all the senses with books by some amazing authors. A little bit for any lover of steamy reads. All kinds are represented in this duet.

Their love!
Loads of intertaining Daddy and Littles plus a few DD relationships of couples that live with their Partners or Husbands that make sure they know they are loved but will have their punishments or funishments handout out. I especially liked the Vampire story which I'm normally not into.

Wow!!! This book is full of so many great stories. It allows your imagination to play and for you to put yourself in the story. Part one left me wanting even more. Great characters and great writing.

Just brilliant..
How lucky are we to have an anthology of discipline and punishment written by our favourite authors. Not just one though...now on to Volume 2...A must read.
