"Life is parallel to hell but I must maintain and be prosperous." Abandoned by his parents, with the streets of Queens, New York raising him, Knight believes the only way he can make it through hell is with his music. His plan was to make music, get money, and give his daughter the life he always dreamed about.Falling in love wasn't part of the plan. Ambitious, intelligent, and courageous, Lyric entered Knight's life like a speeding locomotive. When he fell for her, Knight fell hard and fast. Now engaged to be married, Knight struggles to maintain the first real relationship he's ever had while trying to stay relevant in the everchanging world of hiphop. Now that his biological parents are back and determined to undo all the progress he's made, Knight may have to accept that the consequences of his past could obliterate his dream of a normal life.
"When Life Gives You Lemons, Throw Them Back and Scream, "Limes, Motherf&%$er, I Want Limes!"
It's not my quote but I live by it. *rebel*. Music and writing are my everything. Music influences everything that I do and write about. Without books and music, I could not breathe.
I really liked the friends in the book. I was expecting lines to be crossed but they weren't. I would have given this book a four star review, but when Lyric did what she did after the kidnapping, the book went all the way down hill. There was just not any excuse for what she did. He really had a connection with Blue which was another reason I gave it one star. Knight would have not been friends with Blue had she not done what she did. Then Lyric gets her man back that she deeply loves and then begins to talk about taking it slow.....It just became a hot mess.
The conclusion of Knight and Lyric's love story was definitely worth the wait. I really enjoy this author's writing style. I could visualize everything she was describing. While Lyric and Knight both had their individual issues it was clear as day that they loved each other. I'm so glad they got their HEA. Now we need Destiny and Sincere's story.
I love this series. It had a little history on African Americans. I even learned of a jazz band that I’ve been listening to. Awesome writing from Ms. Chanel. This is definitely, hands down, the best love series I’ve read. It’s a must read. Now on to Sincere and the rest of the gang.
Knight was a complicated guy. There was so much love in the beginning. At 1 point I just wanted Lyric to really find another Knight in shining armor. Sincere, heck all the guys are complicated. The queens still queening though! Love how all the friends are still riding and loving each other as they grow and have new milestones💜
As long as we find our way back right such an amazing continuance I enjoyed reading each page and I’m even more excited that this talented author has a catalog for me to delve into
The ending was flat... We been through it all with them then they got married the end. Sincere definitely had a story to tell. Love all the friendships and family ties.
