Margaret “Pegasus” Hart, a canny police detective assigned to the Glendale police department, always finds herself in the middle of trouble even if she’s not looking for it. This time, she witnesses the abduction of a young woman from a bar by a movie industry executive with a passing resemblance to Franklin Roosevelt.

Also at the same bar is Lucas Postino, a contract killer, who has been hired by a distraught father wishing to get retribution for his daughter’s death at the hands of this monster. However, Postino’s plans to murder the FDR clone are foiled when he, too, witnesses the abduction.

Hart and Postino form an unlikely alliance to free the woman and bring the kidnapper to justice. But will Pegasus, a not-always-by-the-book cop, allow herself to bend the rules enough to work effectively with a man she quietly suspects is actually a hit man?
