Heavy on the smut with instalove

Clio always does a great job teaching safe kink and consent, which I appreciate. I liked the monster types in this book - don’t see a lot of spider monsters and this is the first fem spider monster if ever seen. Alex was an interesting morally gray character having to the tail end of his redemption arc in this final installment. Sylvia was quiet and Anne was fairly outspoken. They were a cute polycule. I just wasn’t super invested in the main plot.

Spice: 5/5

Triggers: mention of captivity, stalking (not by MCs), home invasion, mild violence

3.5 ⭐️ Last novella of the series!

This series of paranormal, monster novellas is amazing, and I've now read most of them... all except #4, cause I really needed to know the ending and I've never read an FFF romance and I don't know if it've been my thing. Still, this one was a great time and, honestly, if you're in the look for an easy, super spicy good, monstrous time this is the series for you.

Novella #1 is still my fave, but I feel like this one is a good runner up. I was so exited to read about Alex and Anne! Sylvia was a nice added bonus too. The revenge / scorned ex / villain plot got old pretty fast, and the non-answers in the series kind of bothered me, but it was all good at the end. Alex's a decent guy, but omg, I was so pissed at him for not speaking up on things sooner!!!

Awww, I'm sad my Clio Evans binge has come to an end. Not gonna lie, she got me through that first part of January!

The final installment from Warts & Claw sees Alex and Anne find their special someone and I think it was worth the wait. I think Sylvia is my favourite out of all the monsters and witches. I may have also said that about those that came before! :D

Fun, low stakes, high smut reading and I can't wait for more from Clio Evans. My new auto-buy smut queen!!

Wow! I love Anne and Sylvia so much!

Alex had to grow on me a bit. I felt myself being wary of him due to his many secrets but in the end, I started to enjoy his character.

I think this series maintained a great pace and had the perfect wrap up to end it.

I’m excited for Clio’s future projects.

We finally get to the conclusion of this story! And boss man Alex finally gets his turn - I was wondering if it was going to happen. It seemed like he was getting more and more integrated with the group each book, so it was only a matter of time.

So with each book I was introduced to a new set of monsters. I will say, this was my first time meeting an arachnid creature. I'm not a fan of spiders, so I wasn't sure how this was going to go LOL. But Sylvia was so adorable just trying to figure out who she was and where she belonged now that she was no longer being held captive.

We also finally get the conclusion of the major plot that's been circling since book 1. The big bad vs our team of good guys. And I really liked how everyone rallied around Alex. You could tell he felt responsible for everything and wanted to take it on all by himself, but this group had really formed into a makeshift family who doesn't abandon each other. It was nice to see. And it was a cute ending to a really fun series.

What to expect: this was a superb conclusion to this series. Clio once again nailed with the perfect blend of smut and plot. I really liked the complexity of Alex’s character, not totally good and not totally bad. And I think his mates Sylvia and Anne were perfect compliments. Plus, the way we get this whole pseudo-work family of witches and monsters coming together in the end to defeat the threat against the omegas was just the icing on the cake. I’m sad for another monster series to end but looking forward to what Clio has next in store

I've enjoyed this series and the conclusion. They're quick reads for me and don't lack on plot or spïçè. If you've read Creature Cafe, there's mentions of those characters, but you won't be lost if you haven't. Can't wait to read more by this author!

Am I sad to see it go?
Always.

Am I glad I got the opportunity to fall in love with more of Clio's characters? Always.

Alex, Anne and Sylvia truly are a unique blend of deliciousness. From tails to arms to magic and bonds, they created happiness and learned some pretty important life lessons along the way.

The spice is delicious. The heat is to be broken and they finally get their own happy endings. Sure some things might blow up in their faces, but it makes the love and bonds created so much better.

Am I gonna miss these days, toiling in an office full of witches and Monsters?
Definitely.

But the doors are always open.

Friends, we have come to the end. It's such a bittersweet thing when a series concludes and this one is no exception. And to be frank, this was the book I was most eager about. Waiting for this book was terrible because I couldn't stop thinking about how this series would conclude. I also want to briefly mention this, as I don't know if this is triggering for anyone, but one of the main characters, Sylvia, is an arachnid woman. If this is triggering or if spiders in general are triggering for you, you may want to heed caution with this book.

"Even with all the terrible events that had occurred, monsters and witches were still finding their happy endings."

The final Monday and Alex rolls into the office feeling terrible than ever. Monsters and witches alike have been hurt by his actions. The guilt is slowly eating him alive on this Monday. What Alex isn't expecting on this Monday is his gorgon secretary, Anne rolling into the office with the new employee, Sylvia for her interview, for a full blown omega heat to happen. Frazzled and horrified, everyone, but Anne scatters like leaves on the breeze. Determined to get her happy ending, Anne takes things into her own hands and fetches her mates, one way or another. Who would have thought Mondays could be so full of surprises?

"Anne looked angry. Her eyes were golden with diamond-shaped pupils, and they burned like hellfire."

I had been hoping every since we were introduced to Anne that she would get her own story. Even though she plays a side character role throughout the entire series, the things she does stands out compared to a lot of side characters and she does so much for the main characters of the other books in the series. I wanted her to have her own book so badly because she's just too good not to have her own book. And we got it. We got it and we get Alex, and Sylvia on top of it, too! Chef's kiss! Their whole dynamic was like honey and I am the bee because it was sugar sweet, friends. There's so much dominant and sub energy between these three characters, and it's delicious. Also, just in case you're not a fan, there is a daddy kink in this. Sylvia and Alex have daddy kink scenes, and I just wanted to throw that in here in case that's not your vibe, but I had a blast! It was just great chemistry between all three.

Speaking of chemistry, the way Alex and Sylvia become vulnerable in the relationship, and the way Anne refuses to bend or shying away from anything, literally everything. They just compliment one another so well and I think the author did a good job at setting these three characters up to being in a relationship with one another. The moments where they have really deep conversations and they work through things, that really got me. I love when characters can sit down and work through the really difficult things, even if it hurts or it feels scary. Not to mention, the boundary setting and making sure one another is comfortable with plans for spicy times, we love to see it! However, like the fourth book, this relationship isn't perfect. There are moments where Alex does emotionally hurt Sylvia and Anne, but they talk it out and express their feelings, and it's a process of going from having to do everything by yourself to having people in your corner, who love and support you. It was really great to see such good communication between all three and I loved seeing those moments.

"I was in the mood to fuck around and find out. Being a brat was apparently my new full time job, and I was taking that seriously."

There's some really great themes in this book too. Out of all the themes, not just for this book, but the whole series, is the theme of going from feeling like you're alone and have no one in your corner to suddenly having people who care about you there to support you, who care about you. While I mentioned that Anne and Sylvia are there for Alex and this is something new to learn, we see the entire office come together to rally behind Alex and support him. That's right, all the characters we meet in all the previous books are here to support Alex and to help protect, not just their loved ones, but also Alex and his two mates. It made me so soft and mushy to watch everyone come together in this final book, to finally watch them all put an end to Alfred. It was such an sweet, emotional way to conclude this series.

"There has been a lot of goodness that has come from it," Ember said. "Look around you, Alex. All of us have found our mates because we ended up working at the office. All of us were brought together because of the mistakes that were made. And Alfred was the one who went crazy, not you."

Overall, I don't want to say anymore on this book because it is the finale to this series. A very bittersweet ending, but a series I can see myself rereading when I need to be reminded of all the characters I fell in love with. My only complaint with this book was it ending too soon. Honestly, I think this is my second favorite book in the series and even though it's the last book, it really went off with a bang.

All thoughts, feelings, experiences, and opinions are honest and my own.

In the beginning, I hadn't known that I would cause so much pain.

The final book in this series, and it's Alex's turn to get his HEA! I appreciated that we got a little recap of the previous book couples from Alex's POV - its been awhile since I read book 4 and I needed that connection to get back into this universe and the previous throuples we met.

"I like monsters, little viper."

This installment delivered the usual heavy spice with a touch of plot that is consistent with the other 4 books. The monster types were creative and poor Alex had another thing coming if he thought he I did really like that the climactic finish to this book featured all of the characters from this series, it was a nice way to tie things up and it didnt feel like it took away from the main 3 whatsoever.

"An office is not for dying. An office is a place to live life to the fullest, to the max, to... an office is a place where dreams come true."
-Michael Scott, The Office

Overall, I've enjoyed the Warts and Claws Inc. setting and would return to it if the author ever decided to give us more books!

It was a perfect ending to the series. I'm so happy that Alex finally found his mates after wanting them for so long. I also loved how they completely restarted their company and renamed it Omegasync, so cute. The dynamic between Anne, Sylvia, and Alex was so cute and I loved it. The two girls brought out the best in Alex and helped him grow into a better person. Can't wait to start another series by Evans :)

Yessssss…. I loved Alex finally getting his mates!
The slice was hot, the mating was adorable and the connections were to die for.
This book was the end of it all, their stories and fight with the big bad Alfred.
Such a great series with awesome matings that I loved to read about. Super excited to enjoy them.

3.5🌟

Absolutely had a great time with this final installment in the series! I loved Alex, Anne, and Sylvia 💖

I don’t have much to say as this was a short read and the insta love was heavy, but I definitely enjoyed myself. I liked that Alex had both a dominant side and a vulnerable, soft side. It was nice to read ✨

Anne was probably my favorite out of the three main characters. She took no shit and was delightful beginning to end. It was great!

P.S. I’m always going to support eating 🐱 in this house. They did it SO MUCH, and I loved it 👌🏻

And just like that… it’s over 😭😭😭
I think Alex, Sylvia & Anne are my fav couple yet! I say think because it’s EXTREMELY hard to choose between all my babies 😭 I love them all !!!

This is my confession: I’m sexually attracted to spider shifters. Specifically Sylvia because holy hot sh*t!! Never have I ever wanted to be caught in a web so bad! I found myself feeling constantly jealous I wasn’t in this book and in a gorgon/spider sandwich. The chemistry between these three was electric 🔥

The ending made me tear up and the HEA was perfect. It was a great end to the series!

As this is the series ending, all the friends need to get together to take the villain down and assure themselves a happy ending.
I was excited about this book, because Alex and Anne have been some of the most interesting characters in this series since book one. I was sure they’d be unstoppable together. Anne is such a badass and Alex is a little slytherin f*cker, I love him.
They are paired up with Sylvia, who’s coming from a hellish situation and doesn’t want to get involved with witches. But she does and end up becoming said witch’s little girl 😂
Together they are a power trio, worth the waiting.
Clio has become my comfort author at this point and I love to be able to always count on her to write something steamy, kinky, adorable and funny at the same time.

*SPOILER FOR WARTS & CLAWS BOOKS 1-4*

“You’re trapped now. Helpless to your monster girls.” - Not So Much Appreciated by Clio Evans

As the world’s first omega witch, Alex had expected his relationship with Alfred would be his ruin. Now with his former flame out for revenge at last, he’ll need all the help he can get to save not only his company, but the world itself. And what better time than to also find his fated mates in Annie, the cute granddaughter of Medusa, and Sylvia, the new hire with legs and fangs to die for.

Finales are such sweet sorrow, especially today’s Smut Archive entry with the end of Ms. Clio’s Warts & Claws monster romance series. Our final throuple has to not only face the biggest threat to the company, but also hash out some of the spiciest scenes I have ever witnessed in my book reading career. And to that, let me get on my knees and bow down to Ms. Evans for allowing us to witness perhaps the best why choose romance she has put out to date.

Art, Anne, and Sylvia each have fantastic chemistry together, even with an insta-lust element added due to their mating bond. Each one have some sort of emotional connect before hand that makes their jump the more understandable. Not to mention reading them never got tiring from start to finish, as I was invested with every page.

Not to mention the spice, which should come with a bottle of cold milk just in case (someone want to call C.M. Nascosta?) There is a variety of smut both popular and rare that readers will enjoy with every sizzling detail, making it so easy to visualize to the point of scandal. In other words, buckle up, buttercups. It’s going to break some office policies.

The threat from our series villain wasn’t as dire as I had hoped, feeling a little overplayed and the power of everyone’s HEA being stronger than any risks or dangers introduced by our final battle. And there are some questions introduced in this series that are left unanswered, which may sadden some readers.

Final Smut Archive assessment: What a HR disaster.

Series: Warts & Claws Inc. #5

⚠️Check triggers⚠️

It's another Monster Monday at Warts & Claws Inc., and Alex is hoping for some normalcy after months of chaos. He certainly didn't expect to go into a heat during an interview with Sylvia, an arachnid looking for a job, and Anne, his sassy gorgon secretary. Alex has found his mates after years of waiting and is looking forward to a new life with them. When old enemies come back and threaten their happiness, Alex must work with everyone at Warts & Claws to end the chaos for good.

It's so bittersweet seeing this series come to an end. I really enjoyed this world and all the spicy goodness. I enjoyed Alex, Anne, and Sylvia so much. I loved the different dynamics between the three of them. I loved that Anne was dominant with Sylvia, and a little with Alex, but then switched it up to be a bratty sub with Alex. Sylvia is a sub that submits to Anne and Alex in different ways. I loved that her and Alex discovered they have a daddy kink together. It's my favorite thing when fictional men don't know they have that kink until a pretty sub is calling them 'daddy' in the heat of the moment. I absolutely loved that Anne was a bratty sub with Alex and how he tamed her. This book wrapped up the overarching plot well and we get to see them in peace after the chaos. I hope we'll get to revisit all of the couples again in the future similar to how we revisited the Creature Cafe couples!

Getting attached to characters and a series is..rough. Especially when it is the end...

Finally we get Alex... and his mates, yep plural but then again did you expect anything less!

Alex never imagined it would be like this when being the boss came with it came some disadvantages and when two of them walk into his office it sends him down a spiral that he isn't sure he could come back from without them.

Anne keeps it all in line, as the secretary for Warts & Claws she keeps things running smoothly although sometimes that doesn't always end well cause you know..monsters & witches!

Sylvia was saved and is looking forward to moving on except once she steps into the boss's office everything she thought she wanted changes in one breath.

"I understood obsession. I had seen what it could do to a monster.  What it could do to anyone for that matter."

SO MUCH GOODNESS IN THIS BOOK!!
The dirty talk was EVERYTHING!
Daddy kink, um yes please!
Switches, give me more!
The SPICE was top tier IMO
Also...webs & knife play

Alex, Anne & Sylvia are hands down my favorite from this series and I am surprised, spiders are not my thing but Sylvia could get it and she does. These three are absolutely stunning together and their dynamic that builds throughout is just delicious. Giving up control is never easy but in this it flowed soo nicely.

I cannot wait to read more from Clio and see what else is in store for the future, if it's monsters sign me up!
Remembering this one will not be hard but in the words of Alex, only good girls get daddy
