Sweet Lou and the Cubs chronicles from the inside-out Lou Piniellaâ s stirring and celebrated quest to reverse the teamâ s fortunes after a record 100 years without a World Series championship.
This is a decent book, but there is really very little about the 2008 Cubs. It is, rather composed of mostly short individual bios of individual players. There is more about other Cubs seasons than the 2008 season that the book purports to be about.
Any book with a chapter on Rich Harden and a nowhere-else-published home photo of the boy gets 4 stars in my book. (I had to take away a star for the Canadian being limited to just one chapter. Also, I'm a Cards fan)
