Who knew my BFF was the king of dirty talking? I didn’t. But I do now! When a bullet meant for his client sends my best friend to the hospital, I race to his side. Only family is allowed, so Ian claims I’m his fiancée. Of course, I play along. When he kisses me, to further the ruse, I play along with that too. And get a little carried away. Whoops. With him injured and off his game and a psycho neighbor poking around, I insist he stay with me in my one-bedroom apartment. No biggie. Except it is a biggie. Before I know it, our close proximity heats things to a slow boil. And it’s not just the pie that starts to burn.

If you love friends to lovers romance, fake relationships, and heroes that will make you swoon, this is the story for you. Happy Reading!

FALLING FOR HER BODYGUARD BESTIE was a quick read with lots of spice but a fairly simple plot. I didn't dislike it but I was a bit bored and it just didn't offer anything special to make it stand out from everything else I read. However, if you like pining best friends, protective MMCs, and first times then you might like this one.

Could be so much better

I really want to give this a 5 star rating but I can’t. I love “quick reads” but this was basically just a hook-up story. There’s almost no character development, just bestie gets shot, sex, ending, epilogue.
This story has so much potential! I understand that it was a kindle novella first and it just recently moved to a novel on the Kindle Unlimited, but there needs to be more plot, especially about the “threat”. Those scenes alone could have made it better. What about the history of the two main characters, the friendship with Luke and Zane, and the family dynamics - with the obvious tension of the dad? Any of those could have helped the plot. I think the editors failed the author on this one.
Evie Croft has the potential to be an amazing author! She has the skills and the vision, but needs to find a better balance in the storyline.

0 stars. I read this as a joke bc the title was silly. Maybe there’s a target crowd for it that I am not personally a part of but i don’t know how a person could unironically enjoy enjoy this (it wasn’t even ironically enjoyable). Still gonna count it for my reading challenge tho ‼️

this was fun until he proposed and the FMC was surprised he wanted to live together and like basic things that would come with a marriage. Also they were not using protection at all and did not talk about it. Again the FMC was dumb and was like "oh yeah I could be pregnant. I'm just now realizing that after F'ing this guy for days"... wtf..

Fantastic

FINALLY a book where they decide they want to be togeather and then that's it they are on the same page . no second guessing , no other people getting involved to make them second guess, no miscommunication..
They were best friends but he loved her and she loved him .. He gets shot and that's it , they decide to act on their feelings ..
Just enough dirty talk and sex scene to keep me interested and the story flowed .
The only part I didnt like or understand is she gave him her you know what card and he didnt notice and she didnt tell him ..
But pasts were not talked about so who knows

No one ever wants to get this call. Saying your best friend has been shot. Especially, when you have secretly loved him, for the better part of your life. When she arrives she is surprised to find out that he listed her as his fiancee. But, if that is what it takes her to get in and see him, all the better. It's all she can do to keep from falling apart when she walks into the room and sees him lying in the bed so still. But, she shores herself up and walks closer to the bed so she can hold his hand to know he is still warm to the touch. Ian Charytański has been her everything since she met him.

Giselle Whiticker, Elliebelle as Ian has always called her. Has been there, forever. He befriended a shy little girl who followed him around like a lost puppy. Ian was her friend through thick and thin. He had lost so much over the years, that keeping her close was never a burden, only a pleasure. And now that he has been shot she has to pull those sticky love emotions in tight. All because her fear is riding close to the surface wanting to reveal her truths. Except she doesn't want to ruin all the hard work of keeping their friendship going, to waste by taking a wrong turn.

Yet, Ian has other plans. He saw his life pass before him and knows he can’t keep anything away from the woman he loves any longer. Elliebelle is the woman of his dreams. They like all the same things, understand the same movies and books, and enjoy an important past. He thinks she is the most beautiful person ever. She seems to return the compliment. Don't understand why her family was so overly protective of her. Or why her mother micromanaged her. Anyway, this was such a romantic book.

Good, but….

So, this is a good book. Short but good. My only issue with it is the character development and how it feels rushed. There are things that are never explained and the relationship that we, as readers, see just suddenly happens. There’s very little build up to it. And the stalker element felt a little tacked on. I see from the description of the author’s work that she writes short stories. Perhaps this is meant to be a short story rather than a book? Either way, the writing is very descriptive and I definitely enjoyed it.

This best friends to lovers novella was a quick, steamy read that developed quickly after Ian, a bodyguard to a popstar is injured in the line of duty and the only way his best friend, Giselle could visit him was by pretending to be his fiancée (though he declared that first). Their relationship rapidly evolves into a deeper one but the story felt superficial. There isn't much backstory or character development and most of the book consisted of them getting together sexually. It was a nice short read but this story lacked substance. I rate it 3.75*.

My brother hang up with this book is that there was zero discussion of protection until 95% of the way through the book. Like, really? He’s so concerned for her but doesn’t think to ask if she’s on BC or if she wants to use a condom?

That aside it was a fun novella. Their relationship developed fast, but they had clearly been close friends most of their lives.

Getting engaged two days after they officially got together though was a bit much to swallow though. Even friends might not work out romantically.

I liked it though and it was a fast read.

A cute read

My first time reading this author (though a few things sounded so familiar I had to look it up to make sure I hadn't read it before...book de ja vu) and it's very well written. I read once that is a reader's way of saying it's not that good but that isn't the case here. It is definitely the quickest friends to couple I've ever read, like almost no second guessing. Having sex the moment he comes home after being shot was a little odd to me but all in all it was a good book

Good story

I enjoyed this story about best friends Giselle and Ian. When she receives a call to say her bodyguard best friend has been shot whilst on duty, Giselle rushed to the hospital. He is listed as having no family but Giselle is mistakenly recognised as his fiancee. This begins a hot love story where they finally wake up to the fact they are perfect for each other. Hot read.

Stuff Your E-Reader Find!
I enjoyed the whole premise of this books. And there were some parts that I really wished was just more. I understand that this originally came for a novella deal on Kindle, but there was so much potential here to take it a step up and be a fantastic book. It just felt like it was all about the hook up and not about the connection present between the characters. Don't get me wrong, I love my fast reads filled to the brim with smut, but I was really wanting to see more of the softer side on this one. Like the book seemed like it wanted to go in that direction but just fell shy of it.

A great reas

such an amazing read! This author seems new and this was a great debut book. I loved Ians and Griselles connection. I also enjoyed that the “problem” in the story did not take center stage instead it was how they went from best friends to loves.

looking forward to more books from Ms Croft.

Perfectly Cute

This is a read I usually label as perfect. It's a light, easy, breezy feel. Everyone is perfect. Gisselle is perfect and sweet, a 20sumthing V. Ian is perfect and protective, a best friend waiting to announce his love. There is some steam to the story. It's low risk and perfect as a quick beach read.

Quick, but good read!

Saw this on a FB ad and saw it was on Kindle Vella, but I saw the author said it was also a book now. It's a quick read, but good. It is steamy but also sweet with a twist of adrenaline driven moment. Loved how they were best friends who just realized they were end game. I'll definitely read more by this author.

This is more like a novella and it was all right. For a little over 100 pages there was very little about the stalker plot and the friends to lover shift happened early on in the book so everything after that started to drag after a bit. It was hard to get invested in either MC or their relationship together. I think the writing also wasn’t for me.

adorable

Oh this was an adorable quick paced novella. I adore the characters and how they don’t fight. They decided there in and that it’s it. It was a sweet read and I wish it was longer with more plot and answers Still a great fast read.

I think I just struggled with novella romances because everything feels so rushed. I like character development and this felt like I barely knew anyone before they were hooking up. It’s just not my favorite form for romance.

ehhh

Gave it 3 for the potential but in terms of development more like a 2. I didn’t actually mind too much being tossed into the story but then there needed to be more development. Doubt I’ll read the next one. If I do- it won’t be anytime soon.

Great F2L book

I always love a good friends-to-lovers trope! This was fast paced but with a deliciously steamy slow-ish burn build up! The feels between Ian and Giselle were so perfectly sweet.

I read this on KV as a serial story. I really enjoyed going on this journey with Giselle & Ian. This was a short, feel-good story. I really liked spending time with these characters. I'd be interested to read Austin and Enzo's stories as well.

This was a cute novella, which focused on two friends finally giving into their pining and finding their HEA. The story moves fast and there isn't a lot of angst (even with a sort of a stalker subplot) but it worked well enough. I had fun and it was an easy read.

DNF at 25% didn’t like the writing style, wasn’t for me, it had barely any descriptions and I felt that it went too fast for me where I couldn’t keep up, also they kiss and then don’t talk about it?! To each other

bruh this whole book feels cringe
Like i kept thinking "are straight ppl okay? Do they actually talk like this?" I hate all of the names he called her like her name is Giselle and he calls he "Ellibelle" and I can't wrap my head around that along with the many times he called her kitten 🤢

Fun quick read

This was a nice pallet cleanse, in between novels. I liked the characters. Some of the writing sounded a bit immature, but over all enjoyed it.
