Graham Johnson flies a news helicopter for a local TV station in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. A career pilot and Vietnam veteran, he dedicates his life to public safety. He's training Bobby Haley, the younger son of his lifelong friend and co-pilot, who died in a crash two years prior, to be a news pilot. Bobby's older brother, Jack quit flying and blames Graham for their father's death. Graham faces a serious health issue and looks for a cure. Jennifer Colvard, a meteorologist, and the lead storm chaser convinces him to take an experimental treatment. Tragedy occurs and forces them all to make the toughest decision of their lives. When severe storms approach the Oklahoma City metro, they face the ultimate test.
If you are a lover of storm chase vehicles on the ground plus choppers in the air, then you'll probably enjoy this page-turning drama.
The only negative thing I might mention is that it's highly unusual for an author to kill off one of his main characters midway through the story - especially one that readers have taken a liking to. However the story does end well.
This is a story about helicopter pilots that are employed by a new station. They are tasked with getting reporters to various locations and tracking storms. However, this is a job where danger always seems to find them. Faced with adversity they must figure out what to do, and most importantly, how to accomplish the task.
