Most know me as Stephen the Artist. All my life I have doodled, sketched and painted. I have worked detailing pixels in Marvel comics and sweeping murals high and wide across Ireland. It wasnt until recently that I took up writing in earnest. Like all craft that allows self-expression I have also felt myself very comfortable in the realm of the written word. There are many aspects of life that can make you feel tied down, but through the arts I have always found a way to escape...especially since I sold my motorbike for a roomy Ford with ample space for shopping and family sundries...
My debut novel was inspired by a decrepit old mansion called Loftus Hall. Reputedly 'Ireland's Most Haunted House'. ( - I didn't even know there was a supernatural ranking system!) This once magnificent structure sits bizarrely on the most desolate of outcrops, she cried to me - like a banshee, pleading to have her story re-imagined, embellished, glorified and regaled in a manner befitting her former glory. This book is pretty darn good, captivating - like black opal, it's a very dark and rare thing...give it a read...I promise it'll keep you awake longer than you intended..
I had fun writing it, but not as much as you will have reading it...
