Villains, Annoying Assistants, and Monsters…Oh My!
My best friend had nothing to do with bouncing or monsters until something went terribly wrong in my new job. Suddenly she’s missing, and the rumor is that a nest of monsters might have her. Those monsters are about to meet their match. I’m going to go medieval on their furry butts. If only I can figure out how to control my bouncing magic for five solid minutes.
I just hope Molly will forgive me for bringing her assistant Rog along on the rescue mission. The man has taken annoyingto levels heretofore unknown. Believe me, I’ve tried to shake him. But he’s like a giant octopus with a thousand tentacles. He insists he needs to go with me on the rescue. Unfortunately, the man has even less sense than he has magic. And he has zero magic.

Rae is unexpectedly, and unwillingly, bounced from her friend Molly's shop and into the dimension of Aqua. Justice and Elvo are already there, but why were they called here? Apparently Aqua was the dimension that Travelers were rarely called to, so why now? Rae was especially unhappy because she really hated the water. She got even more disgruntled when she had to bounce the three of them to a sinking ship full of rats. Yeah, and not your everyday, run-of-the-mill rats - giant rats with really big teeth. Ugh.
This is just the start to Rae's latest disaster as a Traveler. It will end up involving her friend Molly and, even worse, Molly's assistant Rog. Give her strength. Monsters will end up in her dimension, terrorizing the natives. Visions will come of all of her friends lying in front of her, dead. She is determined that that horrible event will not come to pass, no matter what she has to do to stop it. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I LOVE Sam Cheever's books, so I've read nearly all of them. I was really looking forward to this book as I thoroughly enjoyed the first one. The thing I love most about Sam's stories are the characters, relationships and the interactions. This book was action. Fighting and slashing and being slammed into things. And the characters are so similar to characters from her other books that there were several times I had to remind myself which book I was reading. For me, I'd prefer less fighting and more interacting, more character building. And maybe some unique characters. If you've read her Croakies series and Mature Magic (the best!) you'll know what I mean. This is a good read and still has that Sam Cheever magic, so if you like her books, or you've never read her books, you should buy this. But I'm hoping for a little less fighting and a little more relationship building in the next one.

This author’s writing style will captivate the reader right from the start. She paints the scenes with words that brings the reader into the scene to feel like a participant. The descriptions are clear and make the incredible seem real. Grab your copy and see if Rae can deal with this latest difficulty. Or will this one be the end for all of them?
This is such a great series! The storylines are so imaginative and entertaining. The characters are unique and interesting. And honestly who doesn’t love reading about battling mythical monsters? This author does a wonderful job of using words to paint pictures of settings, characters, monsters and battles. The descriptive writing style makes you feel as though you are in the midst of the action right along with Rae, Justice and the rest of the gang and can visualize what they see and feel. This book was entertaining from the first page to the last!.

right from the beginning of the book you are gripped into the action. Traveling over land, thru the air and under the sea makes this an impossable book to put down. Cats have 9 lives, I think travellers have the same! Ms. Cheever had me yelling at the book when I had to put it down for the characters to gold still, I would be back A.S.A.P. My hubby laughed saying I lived on Terra Ferma, not in the wonderful world Ms. Cheever created. Thank you!.

Rae is once again bounced unwillingly into another dimension. This time she tangles with the ruling entity of Aqua. She's powerful enough to influence other dimensions by sending to them by using portals. She kidnaps Rae's best friend to use as leverage to coerce Rae into helping her. Now Rae is out to not only find Mols, but to protect all of the others that she cares for also.
A bounce before I die is the second book in the Midlife Muddle series. It's fast-paced with developed characters and almost constant action. I didn't want to put this book down.
The book is well paced, interesting characters, adventures, all all around fun. It gets docked a star because it is internally chaotic. The plot is pretty thin and action sequences pile on each other with exhausting randomness. This series is worth reading but the author needs to establish an internal coherence. A good fantasy needs a reality unlike our own, but consistent within itself. The bounced verse has a way to go. So much of the pleasure of a fantasy is seeing what the characters do within the constraints of their reality.
I really enjoyed this book. It is full of action and adventure. I like the characters and enjoyed the expanded roles of Rae's friends in this book. This is an interesting and engaging book. There are lots of different and interesting magical creatures in this book. I look forward to more in this series.
Drop into her new magical world of scary beasts and water creatures. Crazy places, authors description leaves you wondering about portals and worlds beyond ours, or are they just in a different plane? More surprises await as you get swept up in the adventure and its not over yet..
Rae has accidentally become a Traveller with the responsibility to stop bad creatures from other realms that are trying to invade Earth to attack the residents.
I love that the heroine's best friends got pulled into her latest crisis. One was brave and one was not but going to stick it out for his friends. I love those kinds of characters. I love all the different kinds of monsters and paranormal that are in the series. Something is always happening, the pace is always fast, and lots of action to keep me entertained.
