Latinadas tells the stories of fictionalized individuals trying to find their place in the turbulent history of Latin America between 1950 and 2020. It is based on real historic events, but most of the names have been changed.
"This is an interesting book and a good read. The bulk of the book, Chapters 2 – 8. Introduces us to the social stresses in Latin America in the latter half of the 20th Century through the eyes of a number of fictionalized young people. It gives their take on the struggles, political, social, etc., of the turbulent times in a number of South American countries.
The first chapter is the author’s own story – a child of the Holocaust who escaped to, and grew up in. Venezuela with his family. He later came to the U.S. and Canada where he became a respected professor of biology.
It is an excellent window onto the troubles of our Latin American cousins – a ‘must read’!
