Gideon never stopped loving his princess, though life tore them apart. When danger threatens, Gideon is the only one who can protect Alessandra. Isolation means safety, but not for Gideon’s heart…
Lacy Williams wishes her writing career was more like what you see on Hallmark movies: dreamy brainstorming from a French chateau or a few minutes at the computer in a million-dollar New York City penthouse. In reality, she’s up before the sun, putting words on the page before her kids wake up for the day. Those early-morning and late-night writing sessions add up, and Lacy has published fifty books in almost a decade, first with a big five publisher and then as an indie author. "Who?" he asked. His voice held a dangerous undertone. Who, what? Afraid he would see her icy mask slipping, she shook her head and turned away. But that didn't stop her brain from fixating on the memory image of him. Gideon wasn't the kind of rancher who sat behind a desk and ordered his cowboys around. He never had been. And his years of work showed, even on a fifty-something year old body. She hadn't aged as well as he had. She'd gone soft in some places, especially after Bea’s birth twenty-four years ago. Gideon didn't have an ounce of softness on him. She closed her eyes, willing away the image of his broad shoulders and the ropes of muscles down his abdomen. It didn't help. What had they been talking about? Communications. Or the lack thereof. "I need to be able to communicate with Eloise. And Clara. And there are others." She opened her eyes to a wavy reflection of him in the outdated stainless steel fridge. He remained in the doorway, one arm propped on his hip. Not on his hip, she realized. Her surprise had her reacting before she'd thought it through. She whirled and took two steps toward him before her thoughts caught up. She stopped short. "You're hurt." Blood, stark red, was soaking through the wad of tissues he held against his left side.
Lacy Williams hooked me with the first sentence. I’ve never read a modern-day fairytale romance, much less one with a cowboy, so I had no idea what to expect.
The story sucks you in immediately as it follows an estranged couple later in life (fifties). Gideon must save his princess wife, Alessandra, risking further damage to his broken heart.
I loved reading a swoon worthy reconciliation romance between a married couple. Of course, I rooted for them to get back together and to heal from old hurts. Lacy Williams surprised me with rich, deep character development in this novella length book.
Even though this is the fourteenth book in the series, it stands alone. Any backstory needed to follow book is included so readers will find this a delightful read. From what other reviewers have said, book 1 in the series is Gideon and Alessandra’s initial love story. Makes me want to go back and read it.
Fans of Fairytale Romance will enjoy this sweet, clean romance. And, for me, I was thrilled to read a cowboy romance. 😊
Genre: Fairytale Romance, Cowboy Romance Location: Colorado, Glorvaird Romance: Clean kissing between estranged married couple. Faith: N/A

His Forever Princess is a novella about the two main characters from Once Upon a Cowboy, which was book one in the Cowboy Fairytales series. Apparently, and it is explained in this novella, Alessandra and Gideon have a marriage that has fallen apart. They are still married, yet have lived separate lives for many years. This is their second chance at love story.
It was a sweet and heartwarming tale about these two finally facing what separated them years earlier. They come from two different worlds and allowed themselves to be pulled apart by misunderstandings, lack of communication, and priorities that were in different places. It is frustrating to know that they could have faced this trouble earlier and set things right, however, this novella does a great job of capturing that they still love each other and it gives a sweet happily ever after for these two.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
His Forever Princess by Lacy Williams is the fourteenth novella in the Cowboy Fairytales Series. It is not a long story taking place in a period of time in the marriage of Princess Alassandra and former Navy SEAL now cowboy Gideon. Having been married for thirty years or so with three grown daughters these two have lived apart for several years. Good characters who have worked hard to fulfill ever obligation set before them at the expense of each other and themselves. Now they are thrown back together where misconceptions and poor communication comes out into the open. A lovely story reminding each of us that time must be given to any relationship for it to continue to work.
There are previous novellas that deal with several of the characters in this book if you would like to read the back story. I had no problem enjoying this clean romance just as it is. The conclusion was especially touching and heartwarming.
The publisher/author gave me a complimentary digital ARC of the book which I have voluntarily decided to read and review, giving my personal opinions and thoughts.
I read Gideon and Alessandra's story when they first got together, fell in love and married several years ago. Imagine my surprise to find that things have hit a rocky patch and they are now estranged. They are still married but living on separate continents! Alessandra has always been a princess with duties she must fulfill and Gideon is a cowboy, in charge of the family ranch. They thought they could make it work but life happened. This story is so beautiful. They have always loved each other but miscommunication and duty has kept them apart not to mention some family drama. When Alessandra's life is threatened, Gideon takes a bullet for her and sees to her safety personally. Will they reconnect and be able to finally have that talk to straighten things out? Will their love conquer all? I loved these characters and catching up with them all these years later, including their children!
Gideon and Princess Alessandra had fallen in love and married even though she had duties in her country and he had duties at a family ranch in Texas. They had a wonderful relationship with him caring for their three girls while she did the duties the Queen commanded until a family tragedy separated them. After being estranged for many years the Princess returns to the states to attend a ball being held for her daughter, during which there was an assassination attempt on her life. This book is about the reunion of the Princess and Gideon as he attempts to protect her from the assassin. Will they be able to rekindle their relationship before it is too late?
This is book 14 of Williams’ Cowboy Fairytales. If you want the previous books whose characters show up in this one, you’ll definitely need to read #1 Once Upon a Cowboy, #11 The Other Princess, and #13 The True Princess.
I really liked that this book deals with what happens long after the romance and marriage, when distance has come between the couple due to life, choices, gossip, and so on. They need to figure out what they really want, and if it’s worth fighting for their marriage. Williams handles it all very well, and I stayed up late to finish it!
"I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own."
Gideon and Alessandra have weathered so many storms. But like us, they lost sight of THE most important thing, each other. Their marriage suffered when life hit hard; both did their duty at the loss of their closeness.
As you watch them fight all odds to regain what has been lost, be reminded to hold your spouse close. It is easier to do life together than separated. A touching story with a sweet and endearing end!
I received a complimentary copy from the author and these are my voluntary and honest opinions.
It didn't say who was attacking but I'm glad that the couple reunited. I didn't read these stories in order except for the 1st few. It was so sad to read in one of the stories that they were separated. Gideon protects her & takes her to a remote place for a few days. She is kept safe & they have time to confess a couple concerns. Good story
A lovely tale of reconnecting! This is Such a sweet story to remind, all of us how important it is not to lose sight of the important things in our lives. Such a good read!
So glad they are back together! Lacy Williams is one of my favorite authors. And this series is one of my favorites. I hope she continues to write about the next generation of Gloravaird royals and their parents! And the ranch...
I really liked this touching story although I think I would have enjoyed it more if I had read Book 1 of the Cowboy Fairytales series first which introduces Princess Alessandra and Navy Seal turned cowboy Gideon Hale. This book, which continues their story, is an engaging story of family, duty, and restoring a relationship. This novella features a smoothly flowing plot and wonderful characters. With her easy to read style, Ms. Williams packs a lot into this short read which I thoroughly enjoyed. I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher with no obligation to write a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I fell in love with Gideon and Alessandra in Once Upon a Cowboy. But then, as the series continued, my favorite couple seemed to drift apart… I was so excited when they got a second chance with falling in love and fixing their marriage. 😉 Hopefully long kept secrets don’t get in the way! 😉Just a teaser😉 NOT a spoiler!😁
