This book has one of the prettiest covers I've seen 💖🧚🏼♀️🌷
This was pretty much an insta-love story, where both were immediately committed. The MMC is rlly cute 😭 he‘s a romantic and was ready to do everything to be with her 😩🤍
The book could have been better if it were longer. It was def too short.

"This might just be for one night, but I have a bad feeling that the soft touch of her lips against mine will replay in my mind for years to come."
I liked this, the smut was good, and it was too short to have enough depth for the characters and romance but it was a book to pass the time so it served its purpose.
Lyla sleeps with Barrett without knowing he's her new boss, and then they agree on keeping things professional but they end up falling for each other still. They also end up in a "Physical Attraction Seminar" by accident and it serves the funniest scenes.
None of these characters captivated me, maybe because as I said it's too short to give them some depth. Or perhaps I'll love Harrison's book because he's more easygoing and that's my type of male character.
Now, I'm SO EXCITED FOR HARRISONCAMILA'S BOOK. These two will serve because I love the boy who doesn't want to get attached and then falls for the girl and I already know Camila will give him a run for his money.
I also want to read AspenReid's book, his grumpy ass needs to work to get that girl! And Barrett said something about Aspen being "broken" so I really want to know about her past now.

❤️🩹 ”if kissing him is supposed to be wrong, then why does it feel so right?”
so, i jumped on the 2-star train, and let me tell you, that was generous 🫤
i was hyped for this book – i mean, have you seen that cover? stunning! 💓💓 plus, it promised all the juicy tropes i adore: one bed, he falls first, one night stand, and the classic boss x assistant dynamic. but guess what? i was very disappointed 😣
the plot? y’all, it had potential 😩. one passion-filled night, an agreement to never meet again, and boom, the next day the fmc shows up for a job interview as an executive assistant for the mmc. then a classic mix-up lands them in a shared bed at a couples retreat instead of a business conference. but here's where the execution train derails:
no plot or character development. seriously, i forgot their names already 😭. i thought, okay, short book, maybe the smut scenes will save it. nope, they were as flat as a pancake 🥱. the writing was alright, quick read, but they went from strangers to married couple in a blink?? 😟 dialogue got a bit too corny, but i could overlook that.
only two things saved this from a 1-star disaster: their first meeting (so sweet, had me thinking the book would be fire 😪) and the epilogue. now, about the ending – my copy was a mess, last 5 chapters were missing! went from an unfinished scene at the seminar to the epilogue, and i was laughing so hard at the absurdity 😂
even though i have no clue what happened in those missing chapters, the epilogue was sweet 🤭 . they turned the seminar into a yearly tradition, and their wedding ending up exactly as they joked in their first encounter was cute!!
normally, i dive deep into writing, plot, romance, characters, you know the drill. but there was nada to dissect because the book was so short and missing chunks. not my cup of tea, wouldn't recommend. the only “win”? one book closer to my reading goal 😂✌🏾

this was a warm fun story about lyla and barrett who bump into each other, love at first sight (for him), have a one night stand and bam the next morning find out that he is her new boss and she is his personal assistant.
they flirt on the border of their company’s ‘no relationships’ policy until they take a company trip that turns out to be a romance & sex seminar week, that eventually leads them to falling in love. which is very adorable.
the story was only around 200 pages on kindle, so it was quite short and rushed. if the book was longer, than the plots and characters would’ve felt more developed and had more depth than what was shown, but either way it was a good read!

i don’t care what y’all say . this was such a fun read like didn’t you fall in love with them since the first page??? BECAUSE I DID !!!! lyla is the sweet girl we all love and i really get her with the “can’t be late” while my man barrett… such a gentleman, i just love him so much i could literally cry if i talked about him to someone and the lipstick scene????????? he’s a real man .
everything started with their meet cute or let’s say meet disaster? barrett is on a phone call with one of his brothers while lyla just wanted to get home and eat her dinner but since none of them were paying attention, they collapsed on each other and ended up on the sidewalk ground but after that, they grab dinner and decide to have a one night stand after realizing they have chemistry but they didn’t know they would be in a assistant x boss situation on the next day in a company with non-fraternization policy “and that’s how i met your father” lyla would say to their kids <3
they hit it off immediately but can’t be in a relationship, the only option is to stay friends but everything changes when barrett purchases tickets to the physical attraction seminar by mistake instead of buying tickets to a real estate conference. when they realize what’s going on they chose to stay at the resort and see how this seminar would go and the classes are so funny because they’re for couples that lost their light and fun but want to find it while lylabarrett try to not fall for each other when in reality they fell on day one !

barrett and lyla are fated from day 1, with a awkward but meant to be meet cute and future that pushes them together at all costs. i love that barrett continually falls first and harder as lyla fights against her attraction. their banter and quips towards each other always had me giggling and i wish i could watch them go back and forth in real life. the settings were definitely the highlight of the book with the physical attraction seminar having its hilariously “oh shit what did we get ourselves into” moments and all the workplace scenes i could ever want (including emails!!!). as always, it was a pleasure beta reading for meg and i’m looking forward to the other two books in the series 🙌🏼💗

I ended up giving this a two because there was so much potential in this book and I ended up just wanting more. I felt like the time at the seminar wasn't fully utilized and things felt rushed. I am excited to see the other books in this series, but hoping that they have more details than this one

This romcom gave exactly what it promised - a fun, fast-paced romance.
It was so bingeable, I read it in like a couple of hours. It's a little insta-lovely but honestly I didn't mind that, it's more like instant attraction. But the forced proximity, workplace romance vibes were giving and it was everything I wanted. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a fast-paced, fun time. I'm also so excited to read about his brothers whenever they come out.

The plot idea had so much potential, but the execution lacked.
I liked their banter and how their office dynamic was but the book was so short it felt rushed. There wasn't a character or plot development, and the main "seminar" plot started at almost 75/80% and was barely there 😭 (plus the last 5 chapters were missing) I'd have liked to see more.

I do enjoy Meg Reading's books but I found this one a little confusing. I don't know if it's supposed to be like this or are there chapters missing? Chapters 18 through to 24 appear to be missing then it's an epilogue 3 years later. I have downloaded this book twice thinking it might be a problem with my kindle but doesn't appear to be so. Has this happened to anybody else?

[3.5] Realmente me gustó, fue entretenido y ligero de leer. este es el primer libro que leo completamente en inglés y lo entendí bastante bien, así que si están buscando un libro para comenzar a leer en inglés se los súper recomiendo, a mi parecer tiene un nivel de inglés fácil de comprender, además de que es bastante corto.

This was a little rough. I considered DNFing, but it’s so short I decided to go ahead and finish it.
Mostly my gripe is that there’s not really a plot or character development, which in a good smut book, I can overlook. But honestly? The smut wasn’t there either. We got just a few smutty scenes, and they weren’t much to write home about—one of them faded to black partway through.
The plot was feeble, predictable, and sometimes just odd. Things seemed thrown in. No character development to speak of.
Really, the main thing I liked was the scene where Lyla and Barrett meet. From their first encounter through the evening, that was the best part of the book, and it feels like everything else was tossed together after that one night was fully written.

this was such a cute little read and made me feel aaaallll the feels!!!!! exactly what i needed after reading two fantasy series back to back.
was there an actual plot? no but i enjoyed every second of it regardless. i loved lyla and barrett SO MUCH!!! the things that came out of this man's mouth? ILLEGAL!

This book is a fast read that will just make you feel so giddy and happy inside. It’s such a romcom type of novel and it will have you smiling from start to finish. With its spicy scenes it might even make you blush 😊

Very fast paced. One night stand turns into company tension thing. It's okay. But I need a lot more depth then this. And I totally disappointed when I don't get the "spanking" scene. Why are you giving me crumbs like that? Because I'm here for the whole cookies. Dang it.
