Metanoia is a poetry book that tells a story of grieving, changing, questioning, and healing after loss and an abusive relationship. Readers follow the author through five sections, Breaking, Leaving, Hurting, Healing, and Loving, where she explores the complexities of leaving toxic relationships, healing after abuse and sexual violence, and questioning your faith and identity after loss.
Along with hoping to inspire other survivors of domestic violence, the author hopes to inspire all readers to learn to tell and own their story.
Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Noelle became a published author at the age of seven with a poem entitled 'My Doll and I'. Now 25, Noelle is excited to share 'unpacking', her very first collection of poetry, with her readers. She believes that learning to speak up and find your voice is one of the most important things a person can do in their life, and hopes to inspire others to tell their story.
She was able to put words into how I felt in my breaking, leaving, hurting stages of leaving a toxic and unhealthy relationship. I cried, finally someone was able to put the pain I was feeling into words I was unable to express. It’s an amazing and heartbreaking book of poetry for those wanting to heal.
The most relatable book I’ve ever read, it put all of my feelings into beautiful words and poems. It walked through the stages of experiencing a toxic relationship, why it took so long to walk away, grieving, healing, and finding what love should feel like! 🥹♥️
This book… couldn’t put it down. Had to highlight soooo many parts that hit home. In depth, detail, emotional, heart breaking honesty. Loved everything about this poetry. The raw truth within these pages. Perfect for people who need to know they aren’t alone in their struggles and grief.
I adore this book. Her journey and way of putting words to her pain and healing and hope were just beautiful. I go back to this book often for the poems that spoke to me and continue to.
I would have rated it 5 stars, but there were a lot of spelling errors in the copy that I have and it was annoying.
