You ever read a wattpad story? Bc let me tell ya that is what this was the equivalent to. Don’t get me wrong I didn’t hate it, I grew up in the wattpad era, so I typically enjoy them. This just had alot of nothing going on for 80 pages but somehow started and finished in that time lol.
This book was beyond rushed. The character development was not there. The details where not there. The plot of the book was good but if you would of took the time to actually put more time and effort into the book it could of been a good book.
So I’m not the only one who felt this book was rushed and missing context. I have read plenty of PNR books and I feel like it’s just empty. I was gunhoe about it being urban and thought that this was a change of pace from the other books I’ve read. I am slightly disappointed. The series could have been made into one book. Currently on book 3 now. I’m finna finish it just because I have to see it through. I’ll do a final review once I’ve finished all the series.
I'm no genius but i wouldn't give up info on my partner so easily, i wouldn't have cared if if was the President himself i don't know nothing and didn't see nothing
She made me so made with all that talking she did without even attempting to look at the warrant first
But i have a feeling Elijah and the Council will regret their decision
Everything about Love is a Beast was action pack and good! Definitely a page turner that kept me engrossed with this love story mixed with sci-Fi & paranormal!
In this book Yolanda happens to stumble into a relationship with Raheem who is hiding a life changing secret...he's a shifter. Although Yolanda worked my nerves with her stupidity (who just gives information and DNA of someone they love to people they don't know about someone they supposedly care about?). Ugh! That made my blood boil!
Either way, I was entertained and enjoyed the read.
Yolanda has reached her breaking point. After being with a man for 5 years who constantly cheated on her, she finally got her last call from his side chick. She finally realized he wasn’t going to change and that in taking him back she was allowing it. So he’s kicked out and a sexy man with hood swag enters her life. The attraction is instant and a relationship ensues. Things are perfect except he won’t introduce her to his family. Now this is an issue for her and after a year of dating and waiting she raises it. Him knowing that he is a werewolf and she doesn’t plus she’s human, introductions aren’t easy and can’t happen. She has a fit and as a result puts the whole pack in danger. There’s more to the story so check it out
I love to see black stories like this - especially since it’s not pushed mainstream. However, this was a rough, quick read. Very choppy storytelling, no character development, poor grammar & chapter construction and no real reason to encourage you to follow up on their storyline. It lacked intimacy and hope. You get to the end of the book and realize that you don’t actually know that much about the characters or even care that much about what’s coming next. You know little to nothing about the pack life and little to nothing about the leads. I’m going to finish the series because I have to see it through, but this was a really rough start.
This book started off really good but I felt the author lost her way and the romance was overshadowed. It just felt like so many storylines were introduced and nothing came from it. What happened with her mother? The center? Her ex? I mean why even put them in the book if nothing would come from it. Yolanda pissed me off. Like I can’t believe you would be THAT stupid. Like sis, sis you really just our your man like that? It’s crazy how he got exiled from his family because of her. She just made some rookie moves and it wasn’t a good look. Overall, this book has potential but it fell short

The story has potential. The story moved too fast and wasn't developed fully. It's more like a novella. The characters rushed through the scenes and their relationship, so it was harder to connect with them. The book also has a lot of grammatical errors. The lore and back story wasn't fully covered. Maybe the author is trying too hard to lengthen the series. That being said, the story was intriguing. It just felt like it was missing a lot. I would love to read more if the issues I mentioned were improved upon.
I'm on thr fence about reading book 2 because it took ALOT to get into thud story snd just as ot peaked it ended and weird... the characters are not to great ... the leads are either weak or truly rude...I don't know if you want to root for the pack or ignore them... this was not what I expected
This started out pretty good the first couple of chapters then took a deep dive for me. Yolanda became this super silly dumb female, I wanted to Chuck the book. I kept pushing through hoping plot would calm my emotions. The plot was pliable but did not completely resolve my irritation by the end.
The editor should be ashamed for allowing so many typos to remain in the final copy. The premise is great, and a writer with a better grasp of the English language would have done wonders with this story. Because I’m a sucker for all things paranormal, I will purchase the rest of the books with my free no-rush shipping points.
Omgggg I had such a great time reading this. I didn’t know what to expect but I love both Yolanda and Raheem as characters. Some parts of the book felt very fast paced and I wish the author would have wrote more about Yolanda and Raheems relationship. Overall this was such a fun read!!
Yolanda just got out of a relationship. Raheem is interested. They try to make it work.
I started and dropped this book last year, but I couldn’t get it out my head because I like good shifters. I should’ve left it alone. There was definitely potential, it just didn’t work out.
This book seemed rushed. I really couldn’t stand Yolanda because she was flat out selfish. Raheem was exiled because of her and she still was still hesitant because she could only think of herself.
This is my first time reading this author. There were a lot of things that were mentioned that I was lost on, but it was a good story. I’m interested to see what happens next for the couple.
This was a quick read and very fast paced. It went from them meeting, dating, to a year later. So, I wished we could have seen the relationship grow and got to know Yolanda and Raheem better. I will be reading part 2.
I'm going to try my best not to give anything away. This was a very good read, also a quick read. I was really on that emotional rollercoaster ride with Yolanda. I would definitely recommend this book. Can't wait to read part 2.
A lot! Happened in the blink of the eye in this book. The character wasted no time falling in live and then all hell broke loose. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because it felt like a lot of the story was missing bc it moved so fast.
I’ve been looking for more representation and so glad I stumbled across Melody Lynch. I got through the first book in one go and I’m about to download book 2 so I highly recommend. What are you waiting for? Go read the book!!!
Great story but a lot of errors throughout the book. Hopefully it gets better as the story continues. I hated how stupid Yolanda was but I loved the love between her and Raheem. Looking forward to book 2.
I never would have guessed a book about black were wolfs ! But ok, yeah !! Black paranormal, let's go. Good story....but a few grammatical errors. All in all, fab story !
I really enjoyed this book. It gave just enough shifting and plot to be interesting from start to finish. My feelings were hurt by Raheem’s punishment though. I legit got emotional. Can’t wait to read more!
3.7... Overall plot was good. Some parts felt rushed but my main issue was the errors grammatically and other times just the wrong word. I'm invested enough to read the next book. Decent quick monster romance intro book
I had the opportunity to read this book with my book club (Book & Bonnets) on a reading sprint. At first, the main female character was blowing me... completely getting on my nerves. The end of the book was amazing if you don't want to continue the series the ending is enough.
Yolanda ticked me off !!! I was with her in the beginning, then she just started making careless decisions. I wish Raheem was upfront from the beginning, then maybe it would have turned out differently, but then what it cost in the end, I was shocked. Quick and easy read.
Whew I wasn’t ready. This was short but jammed packed. Raheem was exiled after telling Yolanda he was a werewolf. But they are determined to live their life together with their new baby.
Yolanda had been a lot from her a strained relationship with her mother to bad relationships. But when Raheem came along he turned her world upside down. I enjoyed the little action in this story, I hate how everything ended with his pack. Glad they still have each other.
