My nephew's best friend isn't the boy I thought he was.
Even for a Mafia hitman, the last few weeks have tested my patience. My work partner, Grant, and I discovered our former bosses ran a human trafficking operation out of their Yonkers warehouse basement.
Now I run into my nephew's best friend at a club… and he's all grown up.
Twenty-year-old Sparrow still carries his sparrow stuffy around, but instead of the badges he wore when I led his Wilderness Explorer troop, his jacket pockets are stuffed with knives.
I should run from this unexpectedly gorgeous blast-from-the-past—this has disaster spelled all over it.
I can't decide whether to leave things in the past where they belong… or become Sparrow's Daddy.
Stabby Boy is a 100,000-word MM Mafia Daddy romance with an age gap, a morally gray hitman named Jagger, an even more morally gray boy named Sparrow, stuffies and slumber parties, shocking twists, gratuitous violence, extra stabbiness, and a guaranteed HEA. It should be read after Book #1 in this series.
Stabby Boy is the second book in the Deadly Daddies series. It focuses on Sparrow and Jagger. Sparrow was taken and used by the Diavolos crime/mafia family. Jagger was Sparrow’s wilderness guide and has searched everywhere for Sparrow. Sparrow was once sweet and innocent but not anymore, he’s ruthless. They have an intense attraction, but Jagger struggles to get past being Sparrow’s mentor. Sparrow undergoes many changes in the story. He just wants Jagger to be his Daddy. I love getting to see all the boys and their Daddies. The Deadly Daddies series is more raw and grittier than the author’s previous story. Overall, a fantastic story. Well written with addicting pacing.
Mafia hitman Jagger discovered with his work partner Grant that their bosses ran a human trafficking operation out of the basement of one of their warehouses. As a former Wilderness Explorer leader, he has never forgotten his nephew's best friend who had gone missing but could never be found. Then he runs into him at a club - 20-year-old Sparrow still carries his sparrow stuffy around but instead of his badges he had from the wilderness explorer troop he carries knives. Jagger knows he should resist Sparrow but he needs to decide if he leaves things as they were or if he becomes his Daddy.
This story followed the second of the three boys who were determined to go through the black book to kill some of the men who were happy to use and abuse the boys who were trapped in the warehouse. I loved Sparrow who was so determined and ruthless and yet at the same time was definitely a Little who needed a Daddy to love and care for him. I loved the way that he knew what and who he wanted and had spent his captivity using that dream as a coping mechanism. They were such a sweet couple and I completely understood why the drama at the end of the story had the completion it did. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story containing BDSM-like behaviours with DDLB. There is a guaranteed HEA. This story follows and involves the characters from the Italian Protectors trilogy.
Like the previous book, this one deals with one of the survivors; Sparrow. He is suddenly reconnected with his old Wilderness Explorer Leader from when he was a teen, before he was abducted. He and Finn are running round killing people from the black book and the Ferrari's are concerned it will alert the Diavolo's and put the boys in danger. So a plan is made to send Jagger and Sparrow on a massive hiking trip through the Russian wilderness to join Captain Caveman Maxim and his team of assassins so they can hunt for Zaire's yacht. Of course, Sparrow has feelings for Jagger but Jagger is wary because of his age and recovery from the abuse Sparrow suffered. Despite the dark themes, there's romance, sexy times and a lot of humour. The peanut butter scenes are hilarious as is Maxim. My only issues were with some of the clichés used with the sex scenes and the breaking the fourth wall part with Aster's book getting more than a mention. There's about a page or two that takes us out of the story. Otherwise a fun, dark, emotional, tense and sweet "Little" book.
The characters in this Deadly Daddies series are some of my most favorite that Aster has written so far! This book is edgier than previous books and I loved it. Sparrow is done being a victim and he's ready to see every one of his captors cease to breathe...preferably slowly and painfully. Jagger knew Sparrow before he was kidnapped and never stopped searching for him. Even though Sparrow is not the same boy he once knew, Jagger still feels protective and wants to see Sparrow get the revenge he needs, but not if it causes him additional trauma. I loved how Jagger was a natural Daddy to Sparrow even though he fought it tooth and nail. Sparrow may be young, but he's deadly and refuses to stop killing those that made his life miserable. I love all these little psychopaths so much!! The other Littles and Daddies from previous books make cameos and I'm all about when these characters get together. Chaos and adorable sexiness always ensues and I love it!
Sparrow was once that cute, innocent little boy with his stuffed animal and then the darkness came for him. Jagger remembers that cute little boy and is stunned when he meets him in a club and while Sparrow has been marked and changed, that little boy is still inside needed care and love and Jagger has a Sparrow sized hole in his heart that needs to be filled. That would make for a great romance, but considering what Jagger does for a living and how Sparrow has been changed by his experience the other side of this story has some serious score settling going on. Aster Rae as usual, brings these two types of stories together perfectly.
I loved this continuation of the stabby boys, Ollie, Sparrow and Finn. Sparrow reconnects with Jagger, his former Wilderness Troop leader as they continue to track down the Diavolo's and everyone involved in the human trafficking ring. The Russian and Italian daddies crossover along with their boys. Lots of danger and explosions and another twist keep you wanting more. Next up is Finn's book.
I have absolutely loved the stories I have read from Ms Rae but I was very disappointed in what happened with Chase. The rest of this book I would give 3.5 stars for. It did drag in areas but was still good.
May or may not revisit? I remember thinking the first book was okay but it didn’t blow my mind. This series really gives off Gianni Holmes, psycho-bottom vibes which I enjoy but these feel a little irrationally psychotic. DNF
Where is Finn's book? You created many characters at the ends of books for the next book, yet you didn't write Finns? A main character through two books? You even wrote in who he would be with, yet still didn't write it? Lazy!
