About the author

Anouk Ricard is an author, artist, and stop motion animator. She was born in the south of France. She began the Anna and Froga series after moving to Strasbourg in 2004. Initially published in Capsule Comique magazine, the collections of strips were reprinted by Sarbacane to widespread acclaim.

i read this book while waiting for inventory to begin, so i am going to do a quick review of it so you guys don't forget about me entirely. i have been one busy monkey, and my reviewing has suffered.

inventory was a very glamorous evening. read about it here



this is a really cute little book, although it is somewhat light on content. however, it makes up for it with pictures like this:



which is a food-gluttony-induced nightmare to which i can really relate.

and, of course, what review would be complete without a little off-color giggle from me?



i appreciate how it is critical of fine art hung in a fine art gallery:



this pretty much sums up my feelings on art in general.

and yet, i really do respond to this kind of art:



but it might also be because of my commitment to fashion. this, i find very fashionable.

This book is funny because Anna ate a gumball that Froga found on the ground and then christopher is stuck in his hole, and my favorite story is tuna becuase it is funny a fish can play ball. and my favorite painting is by ron.

Me he reído no solo por el cómic en sí, sino porque de pronto me he dado cuenta de que es como Megg, Mogg y Búho pero para niños. Hacía tiempo que no veía unos personajes tan cabroncetes en una obra infantil. Estamos deseando pillar el siguiente tomo.

Adorable drawings and cute stories, many of which made me laugh out loud. Good for the beginning French reader, too (note to French immersion parents: read this with your kids). A little pricey to order online in North America, but a good gift for yourself if you're in a Francophone country.

Ok so I think this book is hilarious and great. But they're mean to each other and super rude and I don't need to give my 5 year old any ideas. Thus, we will wait until he's a true snot and then maybe we'll get these back out.

Prvi del Ane in Froge francoske ilustratorke in avtorice animiranih filmov Anouk Ricard (pod vzdevkom Frouky tudi poje!), je v originalu izšel leta 2007 (in bil naslednje leto v uradnem izboru Essentiel Jeunesse na stripovskem festivalu v Angoulêmu), pri nas pa so ga lansko leto izdali pri založbi VigeVageKnjige. Strip, ki ga sestavlja več kratkih epizod in je del serije stripov o Ani in Frogi, je v osnovi namenjen otrokom, primeren pa je tudi za (bolj ali manj) odrasle.

Deklica Ana in žaba Froga sta naslovni junakinji otroške stripovske serije (v originalu je izdanih 5 knjig), dogodivščinam v stripu pa se pridružijo še pes Bubu, mačkon Rene in deževnik Krištof (Izin najljubši poleg Ane). Prijatelji se srečujejo s čisto vsakodnevnimi pripetljaji in dilemami, avtoričin humor pa jih naredi še bolj »človeške«. V epizodah Čigumi, Pomfri, Tun, Darilo, Razstava, Telefon in Pesem tako skupaj s prijatelji razrešimo kupček zapletov, se kaj novega naučimo, pa še zabavamo se.

Anna ja Froga ovat kaveruksia, jotka touhuavat kavereidensa kanssa kaikennäköistä. Enimmän aikaa touhuajat ovat melkolailla ääliöitä toisilleen. Yksinkertainen piirrosjälki tässä uudessa sarjakuvatuttavuudessa alkoi hetken alkuihmettelyn jälkeen tuntumaan hauskalta. Anna ja Froga -albumit ovat käännössarjakuvaa, miksi olen varmaan missannut Annan kumppaneineen. Lämmin suositus, sopii yhtä hyvin lapsille kuin aikusille. Sopi erinomaisen hyvin vähän vinksahtaneelle huumorintajulleni. Ihan ensijärkytyksestä toettuani viisi tähteä tälle!
