Alex lived with Dad in a little house on a hill... until three years ago, when fate forced them to part ways. This is a letter from Alex to Dad about regret, acceptance, fond memories, and, most importantly—moving on. If you have a dad, I hope this story makes you appreciate him all the more. If you’ve lost your dad, I hope Alex’s letter will be able to comfort you. Alex has no ethnicity, gender, or age; no matter who you are, you will find similarities between Alex’s story and yours.
Take a break from your busy day, grab a cup of coffee/tea, and spend 15 mins with Alex/Ellen on this special journey. You will cherish family time more after reading this touching story.
So usually when I feel myself getting into a reading slump (which btw is one of the worst feelings) I tend to gravitate towards light reads. This was by no means a light read - by the end of page ONE I was already sobbing and be the end of the book I was, yes, sobbing even more.
My dad is my best friend, my hero, my favorite person in this entire world and I am so thankful and blessed that I still have the privilege to create memories with him. As I finished this book I was reminded how lucky I am to still be able to have my dad in my life and when that time comes that my favorite person is no longer with me, I’m sure I’ll come back to this book to comfort me during those remaining years until my soul gets to reunite with his in the stars.
To the author of “Dear Dad”, your dad sounds like he was an amazing human and the love you two have for one another will be everlasting. He must be so incredibly proud of you and I’m sure that he is forever rooting for you amongst the stars.
Thank you for sharing this story with the world. ♥️
