Midlife isn’t for the weak. All Marion Matched wanted to do when she moved to Premonition Pointe was open her matchmaking business and start to relax a little, take morning walks on the beach, and maybe find a hobby or two. Now she’s busier than ever, running a successful business and working with her sister for the Magical Task Force, fighting off evil forces.
Marion is just about to head off for a much-earned vacation with her boyfriend Jax, when she gets the call that a string of men who’ve used her service have been poisoned. And the main suspect is her newest client, the owner of Groveland Farms. With her reputation and business on the line, Marion, and her sister Charlotte, are now on the hunt to find the real perpetrator before they both lose everything they’ve worked so hard for.
Deanna is a native Californian, transplanted to the slower paced lifestyle of southeastern Louisiana. When she isn't writing, she is often goofing off with her husband in New Orleans, playing with her two shih tzu dogs, making glass beads, or out hocking her wares at various bead shows across the country. Reciting Marion and Jax is always great. Poor Marion can’t seem to catch a break it seems. It’s like her business is cursed. After finding out that her matchmaking business may be in trouble she is on a mission to try to find the culprit behind all of her troubles. It was great seeing some of the past characters in this installment too. It was a page turner and I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next. The narrator, Gabra Zackman did a wonderful job with her narration. The tones and inflections used were spot on. It was easy to distinguish the characters. The ending is bittersweet but it leaves it open for more to come.
This is a wonderful story. The author will quickly draw you into a tale with intriguing characters and leave you wanting more. I look forward to reading what happens next.
After a pillow fight with her younger sister, Charlotte, she packed for her vacation trip to Keating Hollow, a little mountain town full of witches… and an awesome winery. Her sister was begging her not to go and leave her alone to take care of the business. But Marion needed this relaxing time with her boyfriend, Jax Williams. Unfortunately, she may have to change her plans when she gets an upsetting call from Sara, the owner of Groveland Farms and her newest client, saying she had just been arrested for attempted murder! All 5 men that Marion had matched for Sara, her “failed” dates, have been poisoned and Sara is being blamed. Marion immediately called Sebastian Knight, Premonition Pointe’s resident attorney, and left a message to call her back. She knew if they didn’t find the real killer, her matchmaking agency would be out of business.
Allow this amazing author to pull you into her fast-paced story that doesn’t pause to let you catch your breath. Marion Matched is a likable character and a woman of action! Fortunately her friends jump right in to help her figure this out with their many skills. Even Brix, the director of the Magical Task Force, will play a role in this complicated mystery. There was so much going on, but they relentlessly followed their instincts. Grab your copy and sort out the players! There will be so many surprises in this story, so hang on tight! Will they find the killer in time to rescue Sara and save Marion’s dating agency from ruin? And prepare yourself for a surprising reunion -- those surprises just keep coming!
We're back in Premonition Pointe and Marion has A LOT on her plate. Which is to be expected, I suppose, when one of your clients is accused of poisoning the dates you set her up with. That said, Marion's also dealing with Jax and his unusual behavior and a young man claiming to be the previously unknown brother of her almost-adopted son. Not to mention her sister, who doesn't seem like the easiest person to be around (maybe that part's just me, though).
Anywho. Marion's dealing with stuff and with Jax acting a little out of character and Ty not exactly thrilled with her urging him to be careful with the new brother who's just showed up, Marion doesn't have her regular support network. Fortunately, her coven sisters have her back. As does her blood sister (again, though, not the easiest person to rely on, in my opinion).
A little danger, a transformation that could change everything, an old friend popping up unexpectedly, secrets, sisterly bonding, a powerful goddess, and a lady who refuses to back down when things get complicated. *thumbs up*
From the start, I could tell this book by Chase would be different, and I’m so glad that it is! She’s opening doors to new supernatural possibilities in this wonderful world she’s created and I couldn’t be more excited to see where this leads! This story has a TON of mystery in it (plenty of juicy puzzles for the reader to solve), lots of character development (for the MC and secondary characters), the warm & fuzzies you’ve come to love from Chase, and a sprinkle of passion with full spicy scenes for the spice lovers out there! As always, it’s such a well rounded story and fits so well into the Premonition Pointe series.
Honestly I don’t have many critiques. I do admit that Marion’s sister grates on my nerves a bit (as I’m sure she does for Marion, her own sister as they make up for lost times together), yet I will admit she does have redeeming qualities that shine through when it matters the most. I love how the first few stories in the Matched branch of the series have set this plot up perfectly, yet I have no idea where she’ll go from here. I can’t wait to see what’s next though!
Loved it....this has to be the best one of the series! Well I say that every time in all of Deanna Chase's series books. Deanna really knows how to pull you into the story that while reading it feels like I was right there with the characters. I read this in 24 hours which I do a lot with Deanna's books. I can't put the down until I'm finished.
The characters are complex and nothing goes easy for Marion, especially in Moonstruck Witch. I always go into one of Deanna's stories without reading the synopsis. I want to be surprised on how the story plays out. I wasn't disappointed one bit! Now I can go over the book with spoilers but I'm not going to because it's not fair and it's not something I like to do. Instead I will say that Deanna can hit homeruns with her books and this one was a grand slam with the series. So much mystery, paranormal happenings and some shocking plot twists. I didn't see what happens and was completely shocked. Loved this book and series!
Highly recommend series. Now this is not a standalone book so if you haven't read the first 3 books I highly recommend that you do. You won't be disappointed!!
Moonstruck Witch by Deanna Chase, due 7/25/23 pub 7/20/23 5 stars Marion & Jax, + Charlotte and the whole coven + more
Wow. Just wow! Marion was ready to celebrate her business success with a little vacation for Jax and her. That is until the first emergency happened at her office. That's right first. This one is filled with disasters and magic (not the good kind of magic either)
Surprises, pain, and danger for her and her friends and family. At some point, they all wonder how much more can happen. The story moves so fast it's hard to keep up. The author never disappoints. The coven is there to support and help. Jax stands beside her no matter what and her young man who is as good as an adopted son is with them all. But...even all of them together might not be enough.
Audio book review Love this book. 4. Deanna Chase really knew how to draw you into the story, there was suspense, mystery and of course paranormal. The description was spot on. The word building was strong. Marion didn’t really have it easy in this story. Someone, was out to destroy her. Lucky she had Jax the love of her life a human, and her sister Charlotte . The evil emery was out discrediting one of Marion clients . They go and destroy her office building. . Marion needs help from her coven , when they call for help Marion gets a message that doesn’t make sense . One thing leads to another, Jax gets bitten and Marion and Charlotte doesn’t understand what is going on. Marion finds out some other things. I don’t want to mention it. It would spoil the story, you need to grab it. Grab the Ebook and then the audio. Only thing I’ll mention is Jax needs to go away for a while he said to find his place
This may be the best book so far in Miss Matched Midlife Dating Agency. I can't begin to say how much I loved it. I have so much going on, but I read as much as I could. When I went to bed the final night I was reading it I was on chapter 20. I could not go to sleep (even though I was exhausted) until I finished it. Then I was sad it was over.
Deanna Chase is an incredible writer, but she truly outdid herself with this book. Marian, Jax, and the whole gang are back and discover something they never knew existed. Until it happened to Jax. You have to read it to find out!! The ending was sad, but it can't truly be the way things end. I can't wait for the next book and have already preordered it! I would buy this book a.s.a.p. You won't be disappointed!!
I have really liked this series, and I think with this latest, it’s moved up to and tied with another one as my favorite of all this author’s series. Marion is such a fun, take-no-prisoners character, and I just love how all her friends and family rally around her when it’s needed. Add in the very interesting plot of this one, and I’m ready for this series to go on forever…well, and I’d like to see more books in my other favorite series by this author. Anyway, this is a great installment full of wonderful surprises, twists and turns, and, of course, romance. Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
Don’t you love it when an author just keeps writing the best books? Deanna Chase is just magnificent and her new addition to the Miss Matched series was awesomely magically even if the ending left me sad I just know it will all work out in the end, but hey what’s a little magical drama along the way right lol. Marion is back and omg everything that can go wrong is going wrong for her right now but we all know there has to be a happy ending somewhere in the future and in the meantime we will love her adventures.
I enjoy this series and really love Marion, Char, Celia, and Ty. I enjoy the mystery and love that the fmc is over 40. There's so much going on in this book! Seemingly, villains around every corner, too many coincidences, and a mystery that magic can't solve this time. It's fast paced and entertaining. But that ending! There are some revelations that happen later in the story that were surprising. I'm absolutely sad for Ty and happy for him too. But that ending broke my heart! I need to read the next book and hope that it heals me.
I loved everything about it…well, except maybe the ending (I kind of cried a little). BUT, everything that lead up to that final moment was amazing. There are so many surprises that kept me on the edge that I had to read it in one sitting. I just couldn’t put it down. The author brought a new level of magic/paranormal and it had my head exploding. Definitely my favorite in this series.
When I first started the book in all honesty I was bored. This is the first time a book by the author did not have my interest eye much. I kept reading but I also skipped ahead to see where it was going and found it caught my interest even more. Ms. Chase is an excellent author and this book did get better for me. You have mystery, secrets which cause a lot of problems and romance. Many twists are added and the future for more stories is even better. What is very interesting is about scammers. I am very familiar with them and know them to be heartless people. But the best and most interesting parts involve two boys and a major change to Jax’s life. I do recommend the book and I generally do not skip ahead in books and I am glad I did!
Not certain exactly why, but this one really frustrated me for about the first half. It felt like Marion continued to do really dumb things. And I have yet to really like Charlotte very much. She's way too self-centered. Overall, it settled some mid-way and finished ok. Not a good end, but understandable in some ways. Of course, all of the issues wrapped up perfectly in about 5 pages - not very realistically.
All the characters were really annoying in this book, even Marion, and unfortunately Jax is still alive, he's so boring, and now to make him interesting he's become possessive??? Also, in this series, we get a lot of information repeated back to us, like yes we know Ty is with Kennedy, we know how you met Hollister, we know how you met Charlotte and we know you and Jax broke up for 30 years. I just didn't care for the plot at all.
Marian Matched can’t seem to catch a break. Her matchmaking business was finally recovering from some stumbles when her latest client was arrested for attempting to murder her dates. She, her boyfriend Jax, and her sister Charlotte start investigating and get sucked into a crime circle and things aren’t what they seem. To top it off, an injury received in a fight changes Jax’s life forever. Will their relationship survive the outcome?
Marion and Charlotte are on a wild ride with Jax as a sidekick. The book takes some twists and turns and my emotions were everywhere. The developing relationship with Jax pulls at the heart strings and the chaos that Mation faces with her business made me anxious - but I kept reading on and cannot wait for the next book to see where the story goes next.
A good story with Marion ,Charlette,Ty and friends Marion client is accuse of poisoning her matched dates. Ty has a unexpected surprise. Is it just a mistake or is there something more than Marion not liking her dates. Jax gets hurts trying to help, will he be okay. Goos witches story. Voluntarily reviewed.
Holy hell! And I honestly thought Marion had been through a lot before, but damn, this book pulled on my emotions and made me fly through it, chapter by chapter, to find out how it ends! The characters are so fantastic and realistic, with the exception of magic, and boy did those steamy scenes and sad scenes really hit hard. I cannot wait for the next book in the series!!!
Another great instalment of the Mis Matched Dating Agency!
Once you start reading you won’t be able to put it down - you really want to find out how a new family member, a lost family member, a bite and a few poisoned men are all linked to a date!
Grab your copy and clear some time! You’re going to enjoy it
Very good but I didn't love the direction it went. I also didn't like the ending knowing the next book won't be available for almost a year.
I do love this series and the characters. I don't want to take away from how good these stories are just because I disagree with the author's direction. It's her story and I love her works.
Audiobook: Every book in this series is so good! Normal people with a side of paranormal. The story was interesting and entertaining and the characters are believable and fun! The narrator did a great job with giving characters unique voices and tones. I received a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
Witches, and werewolves, and poison, oh my! Somebody is out to sabotage Miss Match's dating agency! Marion and her sister are racing to find out who's out to destroy the dating agency while Jax is busy dealing with unexpected life changes. Full of action and mystery, this book was a great read and has an unexpected ending!
Wow! Bewitching tale of Star crossed love for sure… poor maid Marion - her business attacked, her character smudged… becoming a vessel of an arrogant goddess…her love life once again in peril … Will she ever get “happily ever after” ?
This book was a great addition to the series. I am glad to see Marion is fitting in so well. I can't believe that she can't even get a vacation in. Something always comes up to derail her matching. This book was emotional. Even when you thought you could keep it together the end gets you. There is always stuff going on behind the scene with some of our other favorite characters. You are going to be happy to see a few pop up. Great read.
Let me just say may 2024 is going to the longest wait! This book was amazing and I loved every word I read. Sadly I read it in one day I wish I had savored it longer.
Just when you think things are going well along comes upheaval and murder. But friends and the coven are there to help you through it. Fun book with a few twists. Will live ever settle in for Marion and crew? I guess I'll have to wait for the next book(s).
Great book, it has a well written storyline, with lots of twist and turns, action and intrigue. I can't wait to read the next book in this series. I received this book as a Free ARC copy and I voluntarily leave this review.
