Suddenly, I’m counting down the days until the next garbage run, hoping to entice the hot hauler to take a closer look…
Can two strangers find love through their intense, passionate connection?
This is an erotic romance novella—easy on plot, heavy on steam—with a guaranteed HEA.
I enjoyed the book the only thing is that it felt rushed and sexualized to much for my liking. I did enjoy the character development and how they try to portray Tristan’s job as not dirty and low class but honest living. I really wish they dove more into their background and their personalities more but I understand having it as a short book series, it’s limited to what we get. Will continue reading series! 😁😁😁
The Hauler and the Divorcée is an erotic romance novella that’s light on plot but heavy on steamy, emotionally charged encounters. It follows Tristan, a ruggedly sexy garbage man, and Catrina, a newly divorced woman rediscovering herself after her cheating ex left her in the dust. Their romance kicks off in an unconventional (and somewhat voyeuristic) way, leading to a passionate connection that has both characters questioning what they truly want in life. It’s a quick, steamy read with a guaranteed HEA and a sprinkle of heartfelt moments.
I dove into this novella because the premise sounded both wild and fun—who doesn't want to root for an unconventional love story? Right off the bat, the chemistry between Tristan and Cat is undeniable, but the story's pacing felt a little rushed. I mean, they went from hot stranger to ride-or-die soulmates in what felt like a blink. Still, I was here for the steam and the drama, so no complaints there!
Would I Recommend It? This book is for readers who love quick, steamy reads with minimal plot and maximum heat. If you’re looking for depth, this might not be your cup of tea, but for a spicy escape? It delivers. Just know what you're getting into!
This novella won’t be for everyone, but it has its charm. The love story between Tristan and Cat felt rushed at times, but their emotional connection and sizzling chemistry were undeniable. The way they both brought out the best in each other added some much-needed depth to all the steam.
As for Ri Paige’s narration, she was great! While a few of the voices didn’t resonate with me as much, her overall performance elevated the story.
I listened to the audio version of this book, and Ri Paige did such a great job narrating. Honestly, Ri Paige is the reason I made it through The Hauler. This is the third book she’s narrated in the series, and if it weren’t for her talent in bringing these characters to life, I’m not sure I would’ve enjoyed it nearly as much. She’s got this way of elevating even the most far-fetched scenes, and there are plenty of those here.
Let’s start with the meet-cute. Or... meet-creepy? I just couldn’t get past it. Tristen literally sees her through a window mid-self-pleasure and becomes obsessed. It was supposed to come off hot, I think, but it landed more on the “uhh... is this legal?” side of things for me. Tristen kind of gave off major peeping Tom vibes, and I couldn’t unsee it.
That said, I actually liked the idea behind the plot. A divorced woman, trying to find herself again, unexpectedly drawn to someone from a very different world. There's something relatable and even sweet buried under all the steam. It had real potential to be a heartfelt second-chance romance for grown-ups, but unfortunately, the steamy scenes just took over everything. I usually enjoy a well-placed spicy moment (or several), but in this case, they were constant and kind of overwhelming, like the story couldn’t breathe.
I appreciated that there was some plot here, more than the first book, I think, but it still felt like it got drowned out in all the heat. By the time things started coming together emotionally, the story was already nearly over.
This is a touching story about two slightly broken people who find themselves missing something important in their lives. Tristan is a garbage man who has a solid sense of self, but is getting older and starting to wish for a wife and children. Cat's cheating husband left her with a hole in her heart, but the insistence that she was going to discover more about herself. On a garbage run, Tristan observes Cat pleasuring herself in her bedroom and his fantasy is born. Cat saw him fairly drooling and suddenly she's energized and ready to repeat her own fantasy. They are definitely cute and hot together, but Cat overhears a conversation between Tristan and his mother talking about how she wants grandchildren. She isn't able to conceive (so she thinks) and releases him to find someone who can. She's stubborn, but Tristan isn't going to give up until she's his. The narration is beautifully done by Ri Paige. She is a relatively new narrator for me and from how she's been able to bring each of the characters to life with her dynamic and well-modulated voice, she's one that I'm going to be searching out.
I LUUUUUUUUV Catrina and Tristan!!!! They both ere just two people wanting love and missing at every turn.
Tristan, a hunk of a garbage man, is every woman's dream. Catrina is just what most of us older women turne into - lonely, used and tossed to the side. What I love most about these two is their take the moment as it is and recognizing that is could be more. Catrina heart was always in the right place - she understaood that time may have not been on her side and love, REAL LOVE, is unselfish and freeing and sometimes you have to let the person go. But Tristan wa snot hearing it; Catrina was his and he was gonna fight for her no mattter what.
But the addage proves true - if you let someone go and they come back they are truly yours...although GOD had a way of making it clear to Catrina that Tristan was specifically made for her...they just needed a little help inthe baby department.
Ri Paige is, again, PERFECT in her inflections, intonations and emotion to each voice she gives to to the characters. I am looking forward to more.
The premise of this story was a nice change from the wealthy older man younger woman trope. Tristan was a blue-collar man making a good and honest living doing what most people look down their noses at. Katrina was a 40 yr old woman trying to gain her confidence and some happiness back after her husband left her for a younger woman. How the mmcs found each other was...amusing. A routine morphed into a kind of relationship. What would have made this story better would be less serious conversation during the OD scenes. A different narrator for the female characters. She tended to drag her words as though trying to talk in a haughty voice, even when speaking for Tristan. It would also be good to have a male narrator. Someone to accurately convey the voice of a 6'6" muscular male.
I thought The Hauler and the Divorcee was decent but not a standout for me. I liked the premise of the story—that’s why I picked it up, but once I got into it I found that I didn’t connect with the characters. I found Tristan’s behavior somewhat alphahole-ish and his intimate descriptions tended to be coarse rather than sexy. The story felt like it kept vacillating between erotic and porn.
I didn’t enjoy Paige’s narration on this book as much as previous VS books—her natural voice is more pleasing to my ear than the character voices she uses here, but she was still listenable.
I received a copy of this audiobook via Booksprout and am leaving my review.
This audiobook is about a garbage man (Tristan) and a woman (Cat). Tristan is the supervisor but sometimes needs to take someone's route when they cannot. This particular day, he is on the back of the truck when he watches a woman masturbate. She ends up noticing him watching. The next week she waits for him to go buy before she starts masterbating. Then the next week he doesn't show up on the truck but ends up in the bushes and they both mastèrbate one inside and one outside. Then they start to meet more frequently. This is an age gap romance with some very hot sex scenes. Storyline was great, and narration was good
The blurb says, "This is an erotic romance novella—easy on plot, heavy on steam—with a guaranteed HEA." It is so true. But I found the plot very enjoyable. He's a garbage man (The Hauler.) She's divorced at age 40. (Eight years older than him.) I enjoyed the other garbage man friends as well. And the steam...............soooo good.
Victoria Silk puts alot of feels and substance in her novellas. I have found another author to follow.
Ri Paige, the narrator, does an excellent job performing these characters. Even her male voices are believable. 5 stars for her as well.
I loved this short story. It was sweet and spicy. The divorcee had a sad backstory but it wasn’t dwelled on. Instead, the author focused on the budding love affair between her and her hauler. I liked it so much, I purchased the entire library of ebook stories the author has available on her website. I like her storytelling style.
Side note: The narrator was just ok. I was distracted by her cadence and where she put the emphasis in a sentence as she read the story. Sounded a bit like May West. I didn’t care for it.
This is a short erotica story. It uses stereotypes to help build the imagination. The “hauler” is a trash collector, who is built and sexy. The divorcee is on his collection route, where he sees her entertaining herself. This is a steamy short story, with a story line, in addition to the primary intent of erotica. The narrator did a good job. I received a free copy of this audiobook, and am voluntarily leaving my review.
Super steamy romance between a divorced woman and a garbage worker. One of the tropes is age gap, but it's only eight years and the main female character is older.
Anyway, my favorite part of the book was the female character, Kat, reclaiming her sense of sensuality. The divorce left her with some insecurities, but I love the way the writer, Victoria Silk, didn't make Kat a shrinking wallflower.
It was a short, quick read with LOTS OF steam and spice.
I listened to the audiobook version of this story. This is one hot, steamy, fiery erotic romance between a younger garbage man and a older divorcee. The dedication at the beginning of the book had me cracking up set it up to a good start. The way they met, that first time Tristan saw Cat... pure fire that had me sweating. The narration was ok, the parts that were supposed to be Tristan could've been better but all in all it was good and enjoyable.
Audiobook review. This is another hot and sexy listen in this series. Another couple finds their way together. An older woman who has had a bad time of it lately catches Tristan’s eye and soon he makes it a mission to show Katrina what a beautiful woman she truly is. Their story moves at a quick pace and is full of hot times making this a nice addition to the Dirty Jobs series. Narrator Ri Paige does a good job of pulling the reader into the story.
One hot sexy garbage hauler, who finds a hot siren during his garbage run. Taking over all his thoughts
A hot divorcée, from a cheating, husband, who notices the sex man hanging from a garbage truck. When these two strangers find love through their intense, passionate, sexy romance.
I'm not really sure what I was expecting with this story, but I was definitely surprised. The entire thing was smut! I see lots of babies in peoples futures with this. I'm having trouble fathoming what I just listed to honestly. I'm no stranger to smut or spice, but every chapter basically was dancing between the covers. Both the main characters got their happy ending, though!

This is a short steamy listen that is sure to have steam coming out your ears with how hot it is. I rather enjoyed listening to it and the author does an amazing job of having emotions pour off the pages. I look forward to more.
This short, spicy story is also sweet. I loved how well Tristan and Cat fit together. He was all she deserved after her divorce. And finally they both got what they longed for for so long. Perfect HEA!
This review is based on the audiobook. Great narration by Ri Paige.
Well, that's a really spicy way to meet. The story starts off with a bang and continues to deliver spice. It could, however, be a little triggering to those women that have fertility issues. Just as a side note. If you've enjoyed the series thus far then you'll enjoy this one as well.
I really enjoyed this story which is well written and very steamy. Although the emphasis is on the sex there’s also some real emotion in the story and the way the characters interact. When one of the characters decided things would never work the other fought to pull things back together.
Ri Paige does a great job of narrating such that I got lost in the story and I thought she even performed the male parts perfectly.
This is a wonderful book. The characters are amazing. I love the sense of humor that comes through. Watching these to grow together and journeying through their ups and downs was a great trip. I really enjoyed the plot. The author has a deft hand at building a wonderful story.
It went a little to fast for my liking and everything expecting came true. But I truly wonder who likes their smut to end in pregnancy?! It's such a turnoff for me.
