This was so sweet. I love that we get some time with Fairlee and Sumner!!! I’ve been dying for a family reunion ever since Kal was taking Charlie to her home village but then the Sworne showed up. I had a few tears when Sumner told Fairlee her name. I hope we eventually get to meet the rest of Sumners family and possibly see them meet Kal and Charlie’s Pup. Fingers crossed for the future in book 8.

Oh well, another delightful glimpse at kal's mind in a very delicate period, her anti-rut. I really liked it, but the surprise would be if I didn't like, lmao. Ofc it was sizzling and hints about things that will affect the war were dropped. I'm so invested on this series and cannot wait for the next part.

another excellent addition. we finally get to see the double ended dildo between Charlie and Kal! and we get a touching moment between Kal and Raine. I love that they've rekindled their friendship and are pack mates now! and Kal got to see Fairlee again! with her memories this time! so good.

CHARACTER & STORY IMPRESSIONS:
The element of balance is in full effect here. Kal usually takes the lead, now it’s Charlie’s turn. Kal is usually the dominant one in bed, now Charlie’s taking the lead. Kal is often the one who gives gifts to Charlie, but it’s Charlie who gives her a gift and it’s such a sweet and thoughtful gesture.
More of Dorlon’s backstory is mentioned and it’s revealed that she had a mate previously who left her. I thought he died, but no, he chose to leave her but we don’t know why or who he is, and for Dorlon to lose another person she cares about, it’s no wonder she is the way she is. She’s gone through so much turmoil at this point, I’m praying for a happy ending for her.
All this talk about sacrifice has me teetering on edge. Both Tas and Kal mention a sacrifice that Kal was already asked and prepared for the moment she became Kal, but my heart isn’t going to be ready for any of this. What kind of sacrifice is it? Is it her life? Or just her life as Kal? I was promised a happy ending by the end of the series, right?
HIGHLIGHTS:
* Highlight 1: Kal and Raine having a wholesome scene together.
* Highlight 2: Raine not being subtle at all about getting Kal and Charlie to marry one another.
* Highlight 3: “If I know my sister, she’ll agree because you’re right, she wants what she wants. And all she wants is you.”
* Highlight 4: The way Raine is shooting daggers at the omega who has a crush on Andren.
* Highlight 5: Charlie and her smug ass mouth provoking Kal during sex with, “Is that all you got?”
* Highlight 6: “Perhaps your sister doesn’t need to hear about such pet names from your bedroom.”
