This was a collection of essays about Jesus. There were many many essays written by just a few people. I was expecting more...not a deal breaker by any means.

I listened to the audio and what I liked the most was that all the writers did their own narration of their pieces. I loved that. But because I listened to the audio, I missed out on all of the artwork.

Overall, I liked this for the overall messages about Christ, hope, and purpose but I wasn't wowed like I thought I would be. So 3 stars.

Beautiful artwork, matched with touching and profound essays. Hank Smith writes almost apologetically at the beginning explaining that he had to get help with this book, but I ended up so glad that he did because of the beautiful and different Christ centered perspectives we got in the essays from his network of friends.

A Beautiful Collection

This was such an amazing collection of art and essays on Jesus. My heart has been so full as I've read the words of some of my favorite authors and admired the gorgeous art of Eva. My faith in my Savior and my love for Him has grown as I've spent time in the pages of this book.

I loved each of these articles/stories. I read one or two each Sunday for awhile and the message was always exactly what I needed to hear. The art was beautiful and touched my soul each time I opened the book

This is a wonderful little book with inspiring articles from some well-known Latter-day Saints and it contains some beautiful art work to go along with each article. The authors have written inspiring essays with scriptural references and included examples from their own lives. This is a book that doesn't have to read in one sitting and I felt I got more from it reading each story then taking the time to let it sink in and digest it. It's definitely a book that will be read more than once.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher. All thoughts expressed in this review are my own.

This is a nice little volume consisting of compiled essays on various topics by some of my favorite Latter-day Saint teachers. These brief, easily digestible insights are uplifting and touch on many Gospel principles. I appreciated the personal stories and connections shared, each testifying of fundamental truths that can bring us closer to Christ. Certain essays resonated with me more than others, feeling more developed and really driving their points home. Overall, I enjoyed the book.

A book of short uplifting essays by multiple authors. I listened to it twice through before having to return it. I'm one who likes to highlight and take notes when words inspire me. I think I would get more out of this if I bought a hard copy and marked it all up. Appropriate for all ages, though ages 15+ might benefit from it the most.

"All good things come from God, including thoughts and feelings. Good could not exist without God. Every feeling of happiness, every feeling of comfort, hope, forgiveness, strength, laughter, lifted weight, protection, progress, or guidance, exists only because God exists. All that is good is from and because of God. Every thought we have, even if it's fleeting. That tells us that we can make it through another day, that we can hold out just a little longer and keep going. Moments when we think ahhh, okay..... moments when we feel our souls jolt and......but by contrast if it is not good, it is from the adversary, they are not truth, they are not reality. Anything that brings us away from God is the tempters itinerary."

"The Savior of the World stands immovable and ever ready to help us through our mortal journey—all that is required is to look unto Him and live. Let us reach our hearts to the Son of God."

"Bid me come unto thee: coming to Christ during the storms "i am out here with you".... safety does not come from reaching for the boat.  It comes from reaching for Christ. When I feel the weight of my storms are causing me to sink, I am learning to better grab the helping hand of the savior: a hand that is always extended, a loving and understanding, an always there hand, an all powerful perfect hand. He has graven us upon the palms of his hands (isaiah 49:16) because, of course, he will save."

I listened to the audiobook for this. And it was pretty good. I want to buy the actual book now so I can see the illustrations that go with each essay.
One of my favorite takeaways comes from [@alcarraway](https://www.instagram.com/alcarraway/) when she talks about an incredibly difficult time as a mother. She was crying, on her knees, and essentially complaining to our Heavenly Father when she felt a distinct voice tell her "why won't you let me bless you?" That hit hard. Each trial, no matter how difficult, I have complained and asked the Lord WHY. And every time I'm reminded "will you just calm down and learn from this?" and each lesson that comes is one that I would not have learned otherwise. Each blessing that comes from those trials are blessings that would not have happened otherwise. And I need to do better to remember that. I need to remember that He truly does know what is best for us and He truly does know how to best help carry us through each trial, each heartache, each life-changing decision, and more. He cares. He loves us. He carries us through storms when we don't even feel or see Him there. He is always there. And He will always be there.

Nice compilation of messages from inspiring teachers on overcoming fear and looking to the Savior.

Quotes:
“Fear may be along for the ride, but we should never let it drive.” - Anthony Sweat

“Am I allowing God to be God? Am I giving Him the opportunity to show me how great He really is?” - Al Carraway

“We begin our prayers by giving thanks for the blessings in our lives. This gratitude practice has tremendous benefits to us. According to psychologists, gratitude helps us improve relationships, increase self-esteem and even get better sleep. Perhaps this is why we are taught to ‘pray always’. To keep ourselves emotionally, physically, and spiritually healthy through a practice of gratitude.” - Jody Moore

“Trust God to lead you even if that way looks different than you expected or looks different from others.” -Michelle D. Craig

This is the book I bought for all my kids at Christmas this last year. Great writers that I enjoy following and learning from. I didnt get one for myself, but my lovely sister in Law bought me a copy and I just finished reading it. Loved the art work and the great insight into the savior and what he desires for us. Im grateful these brothers and sisters share their thoughts thru these books we can buy and read.

I adored this book. I started reading it on my kindle, then realized I needed to buy it to truly appreciate the depictions and stories. My husband and I would read the scriptures associated with each story and then read the story together before bed and it was such a fun ritual to share. These authors are such gems and this book is beautiful!

A very good read supplemented by some of the best scared art I have seen. Short talks by Hank Smith, Al Carraway, John Byetheway and Jodie Moore provide viewpoints and experiences from the scriptures and their lives. Pretty good.

I love that this book is broken down to short essays by multiple authors. I also loved learning the reason the artist painted the different paintings shown throughout the book. If you need examples of how others looked into Christ during their trials, then I highly recommend this book.

Heartwarming and comforting! I love that this book includes five author’s and one artist’s perspectives on the Savior and our call to follow Him. The only way to true fulfillment and eternal joy is through following our Father’s commandments and the teachings of His Son.
