/*3367E-0, 0-13-033675-0, Charon, Joel M., The Meaning of Sociology, 7/E*/ This classic introduction to sociology as a perspective gives readers a sound understanding of key sociological concepts as well as insight into how sociologists view society and human beings. Clearly written and organized, it shows readers how the various aspects of sociology fit together — and are relevant to their own lives. The volume addresses the discipline of sociology, sociology as a perspective, how sociologists think, social structure, inequality in society, culture, social institutions, the interrelationships among organizations, social order, control, deviance and power, social change, the family in society and the meaning and uses of sociology. For those interested in the sociology of humans.
Read this for class, but really enjoyed the scenarios and food for thought this book gave me, changed my view on some things and definitely opened my understanding on why people do what they do
Another (outdated, base) book of standard Sociology. I need an author who interprets sociology. It's not only interesting, it's about survival. This is just another old workbook I read occasionally to make sense of things. There are better ones in my collection. I think I've found a few authors who have interpretations on society. Modern and past, that will bring me out of this reading (alluding to creativity) rut. The lack of interest is manifested by politics and criminal elements in our society. Cons and misleaders, foreign intervention (interference, hacking) upstarts (the underqualified), bullies (the un-qualified), bragards (self promoters), they are a real cause for concern. Moving forward.
