An unmarried Amish daughter, a farmer drowning in debt, and a Christmas cold enough to freeze even the warmest of hearts.
Martha Raber was about to experience another lonely Christmas without love. Her parents want her to court and find a husband before she is considered too old. However, Martha only had eyes for one man. A man who had been a childhood friend. A man she knew in her heart would never be interested in her.
This Christmas would be a bleak time for Noah Miller. He was struggling to keep the family farm from being taken from him, having suffered dreadful financial strains since losing his parents. All the time, he keeps an important secret to himself, despite the pain it causes him. Behind the scenes, Martha’s mother is trying to play matchmaker with every available young man in the community.
When Noah acts in desperation, Martha faces a choice; find the courage to do the impossible or watch as more than Christmas is lost.
Martha disliked it when her mother kept talking about her being single after her younger sister was married. She was in love with her next door neighbor, Mark and wanted to wait for him. Mark wanted to be with her but he was having financial problems and didn't want to court her until he felt better about himself. I enjoyed this book and hope you see how their problems are solved and love blooms.
It's a nice story although you will be able to predict the dangerous situation our Amish young man gets himself into. The rating though is due to the ending. It read is if the writer took a break just before she wrote the end of the story and it just didn't quite fit the rest of the book. Oh it fit the storyline But that's not what I'm talking about. They writing changed Just enough to make you go hun? Of course, It had a HEA ending.
A Frozen Christmas by Hannah Schrock's is a wonderful love story. Also about risking one's life to save another person. Although short, I did enjoy the story and think others will too.
Martha has dealt with waiting for the love she wants, dealing with people telling her she needs to settle down until she saves the man she has always loved from a frozen pond and everything falls into place
A lot of the characters speaking were misnamed. Also words missing in sentences. I find that the digital versions of books are not edited as carefully as hard copies.
What a delightful read even if it was filled with life's trials and tribulations. I loved how this couple just knew about their future it was pure joy.
I liked this book's storyline. This book's storyline was sad 😔. I liked Martha's character. I liked Noah's character. I felt sorry for Noah. I liked the ending.
