I received an ARC of this book and am leaving a review voluntarily.
I was pleasantly surprised by book 2. While Wednesday is still not my favorite character, she has become more enjoyable and empathic in this portion. I found myself caring a bit more for her plight. Great improvement!
I love the twists with Peter in this portion. It wasn’t out of nowhere but still surprised me. I can’t wait to see how it ends up resolved. I can’t say anything else out of fear of spoilers.
I do wish the book was a bit longer. It’s about the same length as book 1 so a quick read but I think so more attention at certain sections could improve the narrative.
I look forward to the third book and hope the story continues to grow.
Way to go making me switch sides and love Pan aka Shadow more than Peter! Bad boys for the win I guess.
Second Star to the Right picks up right where the Lost Darling leaves off. If you have not read the Lost Darling yet please go read it before continue reading this review. Wednesday has passed out from the toxin that backstabbing Cass has given her. Peter arrived just in time to catch her but Cass has already escaped and Peter was left wondering what happened. In order to save Wednesday Peter must do the one thing he doesn't want to do. Bring her back home. Now it's days later and Wednesday finally woke up and is feeling good. But where there was once Peter is now Shadow who wants to be called Pan. Because Peter wanted to stay by Wednesday's side this entire time, his life force was draining. So Pan took over Peter's body to save him. And man am I glad he did. While Peter can be sweet & charming (sometimes) even after his mistakes. Pan is dark, broody and mysterious. He's very demanding and as much as this should push Wednesday away, it's actually pulling her closer towards him.
Over the course of a few more days, Wednesday and Pan grow close and she's starting to fall for him. He feels like she will never love him so he chooses for her to hate him because it's better than nothing, but little did he know her heart can be big enough for bother Peter and Pan. When Wednesday goes back home to visit her family real quick she's discovered she's been gone for 3 years. Like what! And over the course of those years she feels like her world fell apart and Pan is right there soothing her. This is where I started to love Pan. Because even though he can be a jerk most of the time, you really see how much he cares about Wednesday.
Second Star to the Right was a fantastic read. I was on the edge of my seat right up until the ending. An ending which I'm mad about. Like why that kind of cliffhanger. But all in all, I loved how Bailey wrote Peter & Pan. It's like a Dr. Jeckle and Mr. Hyde type. You can clearly see the difference between the two and yet they kinda are the same. Until they go back to Neverland that is. Thank you Bailey so much for an ARC copy of Second Star to the Right. I am extremely grateful and can't wait to read what come next. Also I really hope that statement from the nurse about the ultrasound means what I think it means!?! Please be a baby!!!
I ATE THIS BOOK UP! Another I wish I could make a 3.5 ⭐️ This book is so much stronger than the first! And talk about a cliffhanger, and the third book doesn’t come out till October?! Ugh 🙄 lol! I really enjoyed learning all the details about Pan and Peter… yep in that order 😏 so good! I hate that the books are so short, because I think if they were developed a bit more they could be some truly epic stories! Or it might be I just really love Peter Pan stories…idk 😂

Okay so I love Bailey’s writing and this series so much!!
The spice is well written, the plot is always thickening, the cliffhangers are on point. I loved getting to see more of Shadow (Pan) and learning some of his story. I loved that Wednesday was able to explore more of her relationship with Shadow as well. Of course the morally grey love interest would come to be a fave 😅
On to book 3 because now I have to know what happens 🫠
I’m not sure what I was expecting from Bailey Black, but it wasn’t what I got. Now, in this case, it’s not a bad thing.
Black continues on writing the Peter Pan retelling of our dreams. If you don’t want a little why choose in your Peter Pan spice, look no further because here it is, set on a silver player of faith, trust, and a little bit of pixie dust.
Pan.. Pan wants to go hard. Pan wants to be dangerous. But how soft, this man. He tries to be terrifying, but he’s just terrifyingly beautiful.
I’m in it for the men here. Because Wednesday is.. fine. She’s fine. There’s nothing wrong with her, but she doesn’t stand out either.
This book felt very slice of life. It was necessary to introduce Pan and build some relationships, but overall the action didn’t start until the very end. And then it ended on a cliffhanger, of course. I hate a cliffhanger, but I also typically don’t read an unfinished series so my annoyance here is my problem.
Overall, a resounding yes from me. If Nikki St. Crowe isn’t for you, Bailey Black will be. Peter Pan is coming in hot and I’m begging to be Lost.
Featuring : ✔️ attempted m/rder ✔️ fae ✔️ magic ✔️ maybe, the grim reaper ✔️ mo money, mo problems ✔️ sexy stockholm syndrome
Oh gosh!! The story takes amazing turns, read “The Lost Darling” first and then start this one. It begins where it left off in that book and surprisingly I loved every chapter of this book. Peter is soft whereas Shadow is all Alpha male vibes, he’s damm possessive when it comes to Wednesday and she’s all his focus is to. The story is a novella but leaves you wanting more when both books end on different but interesting cliffhangers. A new meaning and twists to Peter Pan's retelling. Bailey definitely knows how to rope in readers and make them stick to her writing. I think you’ll enjoy these, at least I did. Now I’ll be waiting for the next book in the series.
"So is ours. We're written in the stars, Darling. Our fates sealed before you were born."
Picking up right where The Lost Darling ends, Second Star To The Right leads with Peter finding Wednesday after the events of the finale of TLD.
I truly loved reading SSTTR, and read it in less than a day.
We learn more about Pan, Peter's shadow , and get to see his relationship with Wednesday develop. I loved seeing the dual sides of Peter, a whole Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde situation. I loved reading his view, and learning more about him, and Peter's past.
And that one scene absolutely BROKE MY HEART.
And Bailey Black getting me to fall in love with even more bad boys is just icing on the cake.
Please read The Lost Darling before you dive into this, and it is a straight continuation and you will spoil yourself from the first page.
And hey! That ending, I SWEAR. My heart.
One flaw was that it was too short
“Love is a powerful magic in itself. It heals just as much as it hurts. Your heart can experience it as many times as your life allows, but your soul is only ever destined for one.”
tropes // forced proximity, enemies to lovers, twisted retelling, fae
I read this in exchange for an honest review and let me tell you I could NOT put it down. I absolutely love a retelling story and have been a life long fan of Peter Pan. That Jeremy Sumpter version, am I right? Had my little childhood heart swooning. Speaking of swooning, in The Lost Darling we're introduced to a dark Peter, who I thought was really edgy and just morally grey enough. Turns out, his shadow, Pan is even more of a dark, edgy delight. In Second Star we see our beloved Wednesday return back to our realm and try to interact with her long lost family, while getting to know Pan at the same time. Nothing goes to plan of course. Pan returns to Neverland without his love to a burning world and a vengeful set of fae. Captain Hook has a never before seen (at least for me) role as well, as Peter's brother! This book is left on a wicked cliffhanger and I cannot wait for the next book! I promise you, if you want small splashes of spice mixed with a whole lot of edge and love claiming then this book is for you!
I can’t get enough of this retelling. Wens back from neverland how time goes quickly . She learns some sad things and even her sister and ex were shocked to see her again. This time shadow took over calling himself pan and everybody explaining how he came to be. Love this spice level in this book. I can’t wait to get my hands on book three to see what happens next .
“Love is a powerful magic in itself. It heals just as much as it hurts. Your heart can experience it as many times as your life allows, but your soul is only ever destined for one.”
Second Star To The Right is book 2 in the Neverland Novel Series and picks up exactly where The Lost Darling left off. In this book we get to learn more about Peter’s shadow, Pan, and see how his relationship with Wednesday develops. Pan is darker than Peter, but he also brings the swoon and spice. This one also ends on a wicked cliffhanger so be prepared! I can’t wait for book 3!
“I’ve only ever seen you through Peter’s eyes. Touched you through the sensations met by his skin. I will take all the time I want, Darling, because you are a beauty that needs to be appreciated. I can feel your hesitation, taste your fear, but you’re just as much mine as you are his.”
“You're the most beautiful star I’ve ever seen, Wednesday.”
“I drag my nails down his spine. I want to hurt him so he can feel all the pain he's caused me and then I want him saying my name the moment that pain shifts into pleasure.”
"So is ours. We're written in the stars, Darling. Our fates sealed before you were born."
"Just wait. One day you'll stop fighting fate and when that day comes you'll have Neverland shaking in its boots.”
I'm so glad we got to see more of Pan (Shadow) and Wednesday. I get the feeling she feels a lot closer to Shadow this time around. She finally learns about all her past lives, and how many times she's lived just to die, and always with them. So we finally get to see a human'ish side to Shadow. Peter & Pan taking Darling back to her world, didn't just change Neverland, but her world as well. Things are a lot worse in Neverland, and Shadow can't feel Peter. There's so many things that could have made that happen. If James is acting off, you know there's a good amount of bad happening. It was dark, twisted, and intriguing. The plot keeps getting thicker and better. Can't wait for the next book.
I couldn’t wait for this book to come out after reading book 1. Second Star to the Right picks up right where The Lost Darling left off. Wednesday is in danger and leaves Peter no other choice than to take her back to her realm. Which unfortunately takes a toll on him. This book focuses more on Pan and I loved seeing all these sides to him. Wednesday has literally been through hell and I have more questions than answers after reading this. I was surprised at the time difference from the realms as she was only in Neverland for 3 weeks. It with Neverland calling to Pan, he has no other choice than to leave without her. And to say I was shocked at all the twists and turns and revelations is an understatement. Full of tension, danger, angst, steam, twists and turns and so much more. Can’t wait to read The Island of the Lost!!!
This series has put such a twist on a Peter Pan retelling and I’m loving every page of it. Peter, Pan, and Wednesday still have so much story to tell and I can’t wait for the next book. Love getting all the different points of views. I very highly recommend for Peter Pan lovers.
This book is book number 2 in the series and just like the first I ABSOLUTELY DEVOURED it.
Read it in one day. I couldn’t and didn’t want to put it down.
🥀 Twisted Fairy Tale 🥀Peter Pan Retelling 🥀 Enemies to Lovers 🥀Morally Gray Males 🥀She’s Mine 🥀spice 🌶
The way this story twisted and gave us Pan’s (aka Shadow’s) perspective and the building relationship with Wednesday was everything I could have hoped for.
The cliffy at the end has left me with SO MANY QUESTIONS and craving more. The fate of Bell, Cass, Neverland, Peter, and Wends let alone Pan… Ugh I cannot wait for the next book.
“You're the most beautiful star I’ve ever seen, Wednesday.” Ummm, make me melt, Peter Pan. ✨
The twist on this Peter Pan retelling, so fun! This was the second book of the Neverland Novel Series. The Lost Darling focused on Wednesday and this book focused a bit more on Pan and his relationship with Wednesday. Also, how Wednesday copes with being the Lost Darling.
I love a morally grey, enemies to lover story! The tension between Pan and Wednesday is palpable and when the fireworks happen, major sparks! Bailey got me with that cliffie though! I can’t wait for the third installation of the story!
I love a good fairy-tale retelling and this did not disappoint!
This starts where the first book ends. Wednesday has been poisoned and Peter is going to do what he can to save her....take her away from Neverland. Outside of Neverland, Peter's shadow, Pan takes over and Wednesday is now left with a possessive dick who she might be falling for. But Peter must still be in there, right?
I love how the author puts her twist with this retelling. She knows how to take the modern world and mix it in with the magical world. She makes the characters relatable but also conflicted, vulnerable, and strong. Plus the spice is right up there.
This is book 2 in the series, and we pick up right where we left off with Peter and Wednesday, which makes me happy. My only complaint when reading the first book was that it ended just as things were getting good, so I'm glad we're right where we left off. I love the chemistry between our main characters, and the same can be said throughout this book as well.
“You could ask for my life and I’d give it to you, Darling.”
It's a quick read, and it does leave you on another cliffhanger, but I'm much happier about it this time around.
This was a fun but short read. It picks up right where the first one left us hanging. We get to learn more about Peter and see how his and Wednesdays relationship develops. It's amazing how you go from rooting for Cass and disliking how Peter is last book, to liking Peter this book and hoping Cass gets it lol. I can't wait to see what happens next, since we have another cliffy. But I'm so looking forward to it.
Bailey has done it again! This is a well written masterpiece that keeps you wanting more! Peter or Pan? It’s all of the above for me! There are some great Spicy scenes between the characters and as always they have great chemistry and banter! There are also a couple of moments that will break your heart, but it is so worth it! The cliffy at the end makes me ready for the next book! I am so ready for more of Peter, Pan, and Wednesday!

This was book two in this novella series and I ended up with so many more questions !
I am invested in Peter and pan and need them to get their HEA so badly!
This time around our FMC has more fire to her which I liked a lot. We get to meet pan and he is a spicy little treat, and we are back in the real world instead of neverland.
I have so many theories on what is happening and not even a hint of whether or not any are correct so I need book three to happen lol.
I’m really enjoying these books. They’re quick reads that suck me right in and leave me needing more. It’s nice seeing them in the normal world and getting to learn more about Peter and his shadow and seeing how the relationship between Wednesday and Pan is. The cliffhanger only makes knowing the next one will be just as amazing.
Oh my god! This book was so impressive and not what I was expecting. I loved every second of this book and Wednesday's story and the struggle of emotions she goes through with Peter and pan! It was so emotionally driven and made you really feel what the characters were feeling! The cliffhanger left me needing the next book with a fierceness
This is the 2nd book in the Peter Pan retelling. Wednesday was having a tough time in Neverland with betrayals and lies. After she is betrayed at the end of book one, we pick up right after in book 2
There were several twists in this book with unexpected timing. I continue loving each character with the little bits of new information we receive. The tension is great between them. I will continue rooting for them, but I know they have many trials to come
It was a quick read ending on a huge plot twist/cliffhanger leaving the readers wanting more and needing to know what happens.
OMG I can not believe it ended on another cliffy! It just keeps getting better and better Bailey! I loved it! But also, like, I need to know what happens to Peter! I’m so happy Wednesday is alive, but also so sad she lost so many years when we just thought it had only been 3 weeks. Such a good read, it was over before I knew what was happening and I was like, uh what?! I need more.

This is the the second book in the series and it is a quick read! Peter Pan retellings have to be my favorite and this is a new to me spin on his shadow self which I absolutely love 🫠. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
This book picks up right where book 1 left off. In this one we get to know a little bit more about Pan. There are twists that I didn't see coming. I can't wait for book 3 and to see where things are going to go and what happens next for Wednesday and Pan.
