This is not my favorite book of poetry. However, with the topic of all the poems being food, it makes for a funny and engaging read for young children. The illustrations are kept at a minimum. Adoff uses the poem’s shape or pattern to emphasise meaning in several of the poems.

Poem: Dinner Tonight

I liked this poem because I could relate to it. It showed how dinner was just a journey to get to desert.
