This collection of stories is well worth reading. It is nice to read about how families rely on each other and are there for each other. The Coopers have that famed red head tempers and each of them deal with it differently as they find their soul mate. Their mother, Crissy is very sick with cancer and their father, Wayne, is having his own health issues. But their children make sure that they are taken care of even with them having to run their farm and businesses. Great set of stories.
Cross Cowboy
The Cooper family owned a dairy farm, they are all red heads who are loud and full of love. Travis finds himself in love with Shayla and not sure how to proceed since he had never been good at relationships. Shayla was a runner, both mentally and physically, she ran from every bad or hard situation. She now finds herself deciding whether she should run from Travis.
Grumpy Cowboy
Will Cooper is one grumpy cowboy due to his red hair and his bad luck in love. Gretchen Bellows is one opinionated woman who is running a candy store and stands on her own two feet. What these two have going for them is their determination to be themselves and still be with each other. The back and forth between them is fun to read. It is nice to see that a cowboy wants to change for the woman he loves but does that woman want him to change?
Surly Cowboy
Lee Cooper is the oldest brother and second oldest of the 5 Coopers. He was married once and divorced and co-parents his son, Ford, with his ex-wife. He doesn’t want to spend the rest of his life alone but cannot see that any woman would be happy living on the farm. Rosalie is a child educational game developer, divorced with a young daughter, Autumn. She never wanted to get divorced but is learning to deal with her new life.
Lee meets Rosalie at a school meeting. Both of them find themselves unable to stop thinking about the other. But Lee keeps getting in his own way about doing anything about it. I love reading how the two of them navigate their way toward each other.
Also, in Lee’s story, you get to find out what continues to happen in the lives of the rest of the Cooper siblings.
Salty Cowboy
Love how this story of Cherry and Jed brought in the rest of the Coopers as their stories continued. Cherry was the oldest of the five Cooper children but in a lot of ways the most complicated of them. She spent most of the her adult live in San Antonio away from her family’s farm. The reasons she left were a big mystery for much of the story.’
Jed lived in the farm next to the Cooper’s and he rescued Cherry from her ex-boyfriend which started a connection that both them tried to deny for a long time. It was fun watching how Cherry and Jed navigated their relationship. They were both very close matched in saltiness which added a lot of spice. I loved the Coopers with their openness and ability to make everyone welcome. It was great to watch Cherry get to the root of her feelings and express them finally.
It’s hard not to fall in love with these handsome, hard loving, hard arguing cowboys and the women who love them. They have their ups and down, snags and make-ups along the way, but the characters are so engaging you will want to keep reading all the way through the series epilogue at the end.
These are such heart warming stories. I laughed & I cried. Stories of life, & lives loving & learning, & sharing. Beautifully written. Editing missed some things, but they did not detract from the story. Thank you for clean love stories, Elana Johnson.
This was another great cowboys series! I really like how they interlock with each other. Fun to go down the line of siblings to find their true loves. I can't get enough of this author. Keeping it clean and still romantic
