The book over all was good. One thing I didn't like was the ending. It didn't seem right what happened to the main character at the end. The main character was in jail and trying to escape. The part I liked was that the book had pictures that helped me to visualize the story better. There were a lot of cliff hangers in the book that made me want to keep reading. I would recommend this book to people who like suspense.

My first teacher read this book to me in preschool after a few times of me asking, its one of the few memories I have from that age. I'm 24 now and for my whole life I remembered the feeling I had and the image of the ending scene, was really happy to find the book after so long and re-read it for myself.

I remember reading this in 4th grade.
I felt so bad for him lul but in the story it says he committed a terrible unsaid crime 7 years ago so in a way he deserved it (?)😭

I liked this book, because when a Boris(prisoner)went solitary for his bad behavior,he tries to escape the hole to get out of the prison.Going the hole in solitary Boris crawls through rats for freedom. So in the end Boris finds the outside world...but he can't get to it.He also finds the last person who tried to escape DEAD,and Boris can't crawl back to his room.So you can say Boris is dead also.
