Once betrothed to a man who promised to circumcise her. Kara knew she had only one escape. She ran, stumbling into a world of pain and blood thirst she’d never known existed. A creature of the night turned her into something else. Not long after, she’s abandoned by her maker, leaving her with no answers and an uncontrollable hunger. She broke vampires' most sacred law—don’t kill humans. Trapped in the underground prison for her kind, until an earthquake hits, freeing her and many others. With the offer of redemption, she’ll do anything to stay out of that earthen coffin for the rest of eternity.
As long as Cain could remember, emotions barraged him from all sides, suffocating him under the weight. A former hunter turned vampire. The last thing he expected was running into his fated mate, Kara, or to believe her so thoroughly when she swore she’d never take another human life.
Kara feels none of Cain’s certainty, as she sinks into her grief over the sin she couldn’t wipe away. What they are together terrifies her—he terrifies her. But time is running out. With her rejection, the sands have begun to fall on them. Now they must come together… before they’re both lost forever to insanity.
Vampires are disappearing, the cause—an organization with no name. All that’s known… they’re human. Kara’s and Cain’s laws strictly forbid the murder of humans, but is it avoidable when their enemy closes in on all sides? Will they have no choice?
More than twenty years after studying English at the University of New Orleans, Tiffany Ann is excited to be living out her dream of putting her stories on paper and sharing them. Writing contemporary paranormal romances with a splash of science fiction and magical realism. Her books are meant for anyone whose heart believes in true love.
Born and raised outside New Orleans, she is married to her soulmate and is the mother of four teenagers, and is extremely proud of her Louisiana heritage, going back eight generations. Tiffany works in the hotel industry and serves on several boards, benefiting her community. Her favorite movie is "The Princess Bride" and her favorite book is "Wuthering Heights."
Tiffany loves to read and support indie authors living the same dream she is, and loves to hear from fans.
Immortals are disappearing at an alarming rate. Trekking through the streets of New Orleans, Cain, April, Lane, and Kara are charged with keeping watch, trying to figure out what is behind all the disappearances. The additional stress of Kara not accepting Cain as her equal has them all on edge. Clutching to her fears and riddled with guilt, Kara is unable to commit and unsure if she ever will before it is too late. Cain sees the goodness within Kara and is tortured by his inability to help her past her resistance. Her emotional upheaval is put on the back burner, so they can focus on the sinister hunters coming after their family.
Another amazing page-turning addition to the Hotel Lamia series. This one will have you rooting for Cain and Kara while wondering where you can order some of those shirts. Love, love, loved it!
loved this entry in the series Having watched too many piss poor tv series of vampiric annoyance this needs to be a tv show. Perfect for filming in New Orleans and almost ready made for the screen
I have been loving this series. I honestly can't tell you which is my favourite because they are all so good. I love the characters, both the main ones and the side characters. It was an overall great read.
I was hooked from the first page. I loved the humour, drama, angst, trauma and pain that finally lead to a happily ever after. The character development was brilliant too.
Thanks to Booksprout and the author for an ARC of this book. I have chosen to write this honest review voluntarily and it reflects my personal opinion. I loved the new take on vampires from the first book in this series, the idea of how and who they started out as is a very clever twist. This book continues the theme of the hunters and the rules to live side by side with humans whilst focusing on the individual couples and the development of the relationship between a new couple. The romance and sexy content is as good as ever, and the storyline is very exciting. I love the linking hotels they use as homes, and April's tee-shirt messages and guests' claims are so comical!
Oh I love the mystery, suspense, and secrets in this series. I’ve liked Cain since we met him. Kara I had a little trouble connecting with. I don’t know why snd can’t figure it out. She’s a good character so it has to be me. I just connected more with Cain. And that’s crazy for me because I’m not a big vampire reader. And I’m more of a sweet romance reader so that might be if. I like tgst you get more than one characters pov. I think you get more in this one than the last 3.
This is book 4 of 5, and I suggest reading them in order, not so much because of the characters' backgrounds, but more because the history of these vampires' survival is what immerses you eventually. If you got this far obviously you are enjoying the vampire culture - they are the good guys, and it's evil humans who are threatened by them and trying to destroy them by kidnapping, torturing, killing, etc. Get with the program - a little blood sucking never hurt anyone!
Here we are back in New Orleans, and what an adventure it is! Kara and Cain take us on a ride of a lifetime in this fourth story. This one was unexpected and amazing and I can hardly wait to dee what happens next in this world!!! I Loved It!!! No Spoilers!.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
As one of my new favorite series, Return to New Orleans surpassed all expectations. There is just the right level of dark romance to bring this story to the next level. I adore the characters involved and can’t wait for more.
I absolutely love Tiffany's writing style. The perfect level of plot vs spice! Cain and Kera oof...poor Cain, usually you feel sorry for the female in these types of stories, of unrequited love. Not in this case. He tried everything driving himself nearly mad to make sure she would be okay. That is love, I cried so many times reading this one. The way he encourages her to heal, lets her be herself and gives her space despite how it hurts him. TEARS!!! I love Tiffany's Hotel Lamia series because it is a great change of pace from the average vampire romance novel. There is an actual plot to each book, an overall looming plot that I cannot wait to see the conclusion of, and the perfect level of spice that is not overly graphic. I flew through this book! I am not that fast of a reader but when it comes to her books I cannot put them down. Tiffany has a fan for life and I will be picking up every book she writes because this is not her only series and each one of them is amazing and unique in their own way. ON TO LAS VEGAS!!!

Again I cannot express how much I love this series! I've laughed, I've teared up. I love how original this storyline is and the coolest part is the Author works in the hotel industry! So I can see where the inspiration comes from. I worked in customer for 12 yrs and I know there's definitely "Never a dull moment"!! This was a short quick read for me. This is a paranormal soul.mates I cried hearing Kara's story. My heart hurt for her so much! And it explains a whole lot of why she keeps people at arms length. This book was intense in some parts too. But so good!
