Hamilton #11

Entice Me

Rate this book
I rushed into something I wasn't ready for.
I want to be ready, wish I were ready, but I'm just not.
But I miss her.
Every day. Every moment. Always.
It's like losing half of my soul.
Maybe Sicily is the right person, just not the right time.
And if that's true, can I really just let her go?

Not a bad conclusion to Dex and Sicily’s story. What I found hysterical was how many times the word “incredulously” was used! “Could we not find another word to use when a questions was asked?” I asked incredulously 😂

It's a precarious ledge when it comes to books from Victoria Quinn. I can find myself utterly in love with the characters but exhausted after a couple of rounds.

I felt that fatigue with the last novel but I was fully invested and engaged in this instalment. Even with Daisy vying for equal page time as Dex.

Now, I guessed the big reveal before it even happened and though I did waver sometimes, I wasn't that surprised. What I expected however was for it to cause a further breakdown in Sicily and Dex's relationship. Therefore leading to a fourth book but it seems Dex, unlike his brother and father, will only get three books.

Another disappointment is that we never got back the Sicily we met in the first book of Dex's story. Occasionally, that young, devil may care woman would come through but not as much as when we first met her.

Thankfully, the Dex worship was less, because I don't know if I could do it again. His work also took a back seat to their relationship but in the end, I felt robbed. Why doesn't Dex get four books and as is customary for this author, providing the ability for readers to work through major issues.

An issue I want to say more about because boy do I have some thoughts but I try very hard to not write my reviews with spoilers.

Even the pornographic type sex was gone and we never got to spend time with Sicily's family. I loved her mom from the previous book and is her brother a murderer? We never met the guy.

Still, without a doubt, this was my favourite book in Dex and Sicily's story. But I wanted more. I even wanted to see a separate relationship with Zach or a short reunion for Dex. I feel as though the conflict was missing or rushed. Or maybe I was just mentally prepared for four books.

This is a tough installment to read – not because it wasn’t amazing, but because it’s the part of the story that truly has the roller coaster. We know that Sic and Dex are finding their way back together, and we know that Catherine wants nothing more than to have what she lost. It was tough to watch Dex’s reaction in the last book when he learned that Catherine had moved on so quickly, especially when he felt that they had the perfect relationship. There are always two sides to a story and while we want to have hope that Dex saw it for what it was, we know that it’s not always the case. What we get in this eleventh installment though is confirmation that Catherine did love Dex but that she didn’t know how to handle herself and her grief properly.

We know that Dex has moved on, but what’s always in the back of our mind, what would it take for him to go back to her. They were happy and they were on the path to the life that they wanted, but a death crossed that off the list. When Catherine tells Dex that she’s no longer with her fiance because she wants what she had before, as a reader, you get the fear that he’ll go back. There are moments when you think that she could be so convincing that it’ll happen, yet it doesn’t. Thankfully.

So we watch how Dex’s downward spiral has an effect on what his relationship could be with Siciliy, and we watch her cope with what her life is like without him because he doesn’t know how to manage his emotions. We also watch the entire Hamilton family get behind Dex in the sense of forcing him to see what he’s losing and thankfully it has an effect.

The next section of this story is watching how Sicily and Dex find their stride, get happy again until the next surprise comes, care of Catherine. Frankly, I was not at all surprised by what she shares, and it has a debilitating effect on the trajectory of our story. Dex learns that he has a son, one who’s gifted (of course) and who looks just like him. We see that he wants to drop everything to be a father and we watch how Catherine tries to manipulate him into being a family again. While Dex isn’t interested in a relationship with her, he wants to be a family, but that also includes Sic in his mind. She’s not comfortable with how things are going, and she doesn’t want to be the reason that little Ryan doesn’t have a family unit, so she bows out. at the worst time of course because it’s the night before they were due to leave for Africa. While she was uncertain of her role in the relationship before, it also comes at the prodding of Catherine who puts a bug in her ear that Sic is keeping them apart.

It’s a sad ending to this story if you ask me – watching how the joy that Dex experiences as a father, how the Hamilton brood rallies around the new baby, and yet how it means that all of Scility’s dreams are dashed. We want everyone to be happy, yet it doesn’t seem like it’s possible. Sic hires a replacement for her role and moves on with her life. as best as she can I suppose. We only want the best happy ending for these guys, and it’s never been an easy route.

The other story that we see evolving like we saw introduced in the last book was about Daisy. We know that she’s a strong intelligent beautiful woman who’s not going to settle in any aspect of her life, and she has an intensely protective family who will never sit back and watch her get hurt. We watch Deacon protect her, we watch her brothers want only the best man for her and we hope that we can see her story evolve. What we see as this story wraps up is the optimism that she has for her work as she knows that her boss is retiring and she’s up for the role. We know that she’s in a new relationship that may make her happy and I can’t wait to see how her story plays out

This one was a snooze

The best part of this book was when Deacon, whipped Jason's ads in the restaurant, for dumping his daughter Daisy and breaking her heart. Mason, thought that he could kick Dragon's ads because of his age. Instead Deacon, wiped up the floor with him and said "look like this old man made you his bitch😁😛!!! Priceless! You gotta love Deacon, with his fine self. That scene alone made the entire book. Until Dec found out from his ex-wife Catherine that he's a father of an eight month old son Ryan Allen Hamilton. Such a cute baby he is. After that revelation I was thinking it's on now😜. Catherine was going to turn into Valerie, Derek's mother, Dragon's ex-wife. But nope! It just continue to be a sleeper. Sex and Sicily were cute tidbit that's it. Their story lack substance. There simply wasn't any sizzle or zing to their story. Looking forward to reading Daisy's story next. I hope she's a kickass in it.

5+ another amazing stars for the conclusion to Dex and Sicily’s story. It was no surprise that Dex and Sicily would end up together, I mean, that’s why I love Victoria Quinn books....But it was the getting to that point that totally put me on a roller coaster ride of my emotions! OMG, the totally unexpected twist in the 2nd half of the book brought me to tears. I was pulling out my hair in frustration. I did not see that coming at all!

But do not fear, Dex and Sicily have their HEA (HFN— but I’m sure we will see them more in Daisy’s story). Dex shows and tells about how much he loves Sicily over his ex-Catherine. It was so heartwarming to me.

Once again, I loved the glimpses we got of Deacon and Cleo as well as we’ve gotten to know Daisy a lot more in the last books.

I received an ARC but this is my heartfelt review.

Have read all the books in the series, however, I loved this one more than the others. Firstly, because Dex was the complete opposite of his father and brother. The best out of all the Hamilton men. He is laid back, compassionate, genius ( runs in the family ), loving and caring father and partner and dominant that completely suits his persona.
Secondly, I loved Sicily. She is the perfect girl next door beautiful, passionate, selfless and the one who can solve any problem basically a carbon copy of Cloe .
Finally, I actually enjoyed the family rapport shared among the Hamilton’s. Deacon’s relationship with his children especially Daisy, she is the real package cannot wait for her book.
Favourite scene when Deacon kicked Mason ass for hurting her daughter in a bar and got arrested !!
Will give 5 stars and will continue to read her books.

I have absolutely loved reading these books in this series.
Dex is the total opposite to his dad with his personality and will say how he feels.
We pick up from the last book and Dex has dumped Sicily because he has found out his X-wife Catherine is engaged to get married. It’s sad and your fighting for these 2 to sort it out and for Sicily and Dex to get back together.
Victoria writes so well that you instantly see what. Adhering is up to and hate her and what she is trying to do.
Oh my there are twists and turns that you were not expecting.
I laughed, cried and was shocked but I seriously couldn’t put this book down.
Well worth a read. There is also a funny scene with Deacon and Dex in a bar, I’ve never laughed so much.

Great conclusion for Dex and Sicily. As Cleo has said - Sicily is perfect for Dex. They both have the same humanitarian bent and the same ideas about money and they just fit together.

It was easy to ascertain which way the plot was heading but seeing Dex so happy and so set upon his path was enjoyable to read. Deacon gets the "Coolest Dad Ever" award and I love that his kids get along so well with him. All of the Hamiltons are amazing and I love seeing the whole family in each book.

There is a similar theme to Deacon, Derek, and Dex's stories and I wonder if Daisy is going to experience the same thing.

You can never go wrong with a Victoria Quinn book. Grab any or all of them and be prepared to lose yourself for several enjoyable hours.

I probably should have waited to read this when I was more in the mood as I think I would have enjoyed it more then but I ended up having to force it because it's book three in a trilogy (and the third trilogy in the overall series about the same family) I was trying to finish so I can move on. When in the right mood I enjoy the spare, fast-paced writing and Hamilton family dynamics but I just wasn't feeling it this go around. To add to it I didn't really feel the connection between this couple like I did the first two. I will finish out the overall series (which looks like it has two books for the last family member, Daisy) but I am going to take a break first.

Wow! What a roller-coaster Dex ends things with Sicily all because his ex-wife is supposed to be getting married again. Then one evening Catherine texts asking can they talk to find out she ended her engagement and wants Dex back! Which was great because he pulled his head out of his ass and worked on getting Sicily back. Catherine decides to keep trying to win him back by giving him his money back but Dex isn't having it. Then when Sicily ends up taking him back Catherine drops a big surprise. That Dex and her have a son named Ryan. Dex is headover heals o

This book made me happy! It’s amazing how family history repeats itself. I love the way that Deacon and Cleo love their children and will do absolutely anything for them, especially go to war! Dex and Sicily went through a hell of a roller coaster. Poor Sicily has the patience of a saint. Lol. And that damn Catherine, omg I have no words. I love that once Dex realized what he truly wanted, No was not an option. I couldn’t put this book down. Amazing.

I love Dex, he’s so like his mum, he feels everything so much. He was so in love with his ex wife he would of given her the world and more but she let him down in the worst possible way, it effected his life in all areas but Sicily came along and turned everything around. There’s is not an easy love it’s taken time and there’s been hurt along the way but the respect they have for each other will make it last a lifetime.

What a perfect ending to Dec and Sicily's story. So much happened in this book I was hooked from beginning to end. What I loved the most about this book was Deacon and Cleo. I just love the way they love their childrens and how they'll do absolutely anything for them. Now I'm super excited for Daisy's story. As always my reviews are totally voluntarily and no monetary compensation was received and the opinions I have expressed are my own.

This series is Phenomenal! This book was fantastic! A great conclusion for Dex and Sicily. I was in from the start. I just love these two as a couple! I love how he stands up for his daughter. He takes no crap off the dude whatsoever. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see how these two would end up. Dex can be so stubborn and narrow minded about some things. Plenty of action, heat, desire and twists that will floor you. Check it out and see for yourself. It is worth it!

I have absolutely loved every book in this series and every single main character. This book was fantastic. Dex and Sicily have just belonged together from the start of the ‘Doctor’ books. I could not put it down. It evoked a complete range of emotions from the start. It’s so good to still have Deacon and Cleo heavily involved in this story too. It’s an absolute must read series. I’d give it more stars if I could.

Hamiltons

You think there is no more words to say about this family. I read a lot, and sometimes I think I’m going to like a book, but then I give up halfway through. When a book connects to my feels or feelings and I well up with tears, it has me hooked. It has what everyone wants. True love, unconditional love. You won’t go wrong reading this series. Love them and Victoria Quinn’s imagination.

This book like others in the collection is all about family. How the little idiosyncrasies
Keep a family together. How one generation passes on the love and cohesiveness meld together to pass to the next generation… when high functioning individuals work together to satisfy wants and desires for each member of the family. Emotions never go unknown…

Masterful and Expertly Written

The Take Me series by Victoria Quinn has everything I personally look for in a romance novel: a heartfelt storyline, authentic characters, emotional maturity, all-consuming passion, enduring love, and a deeper message. If you're looking for a perfectly balanced romance read that is worth the hype, this series is definitely one of the best to come out in the past few years.

Dex is stupid for not getting a custody plan in place when he finds out about his son. He was also stupid enough to not get a prenup, so I guess it's in his character to be so stupidly trusting.

Grief doesn't make people not tell the father of their child that they are expecting; that's vindictiveness. Dex also is just "better late than never." How many years would have been too long for him to just forgive everything his ex did - 2 years? 4? 10? 18, when the kid approaches him?

Such a great story and the perfect ending! I didn't think Dex was ever going to get over his wife's Him and Sicily make the perfect couple. There were a lot of bumps in the road, but he finally started living his life and doing what he loved most. This is such a good series and the Hamilton family are the best.

Wow!

Love the dynamics of the conclusion of this trilogy. Many families struggle with co parenting and new love. It was great that Ms Quinn was able to put both Sicily and Dex's punts off views in. I can't wait for Daisy's story!
