As I was listening to this book, I felt tears rolling from my eyes that isn't something that happens. One could say it because of the way the author put so much of his heart and soul into writing about his life growing up in a very loving family, who talked his how to become a man like unto his father. It wasn't just a story about duck hunting, it's more about becoming a better person in the life that God has given you. "Very well written".

This is an absolute must read for all people, genders, races, social identities, backgrounds, and upbringings. As I read through this book, I felt as if it’s what the world truly needs to read right now. This book is all about family, community, outdoors, and love. It’s a tale that will have you laughing, crying, smiling, and telling your friends that you were the first one to pick it up and share it with everyone before it got big. Very good read especially for outdoors men and women, but is a good pick up for all people due to the emotional aspect of the read. Go give this new guy from NOLA a try. It’s available on Amazon, audible, Apple Books, and in local stores around Louisiana. Go pick yours up today, you won’t be disappointed!

A sweet father/son novel, about duck hunting but not really about duck hunting at all. Adams shows the passing down of wisdom and softness from father to child that lasts long after the father has gone. It feels wholesome but not unrealistic, full of lessons accessible to all ages.

This is a great book! If you have any interest in hunting/outdoors/waterfowl hunting, I would highly encourage everyone to pick it up and give it a read. This book reminds me of Robert Ruark's "Old Man and the Boy" in that Chad is able to weave life lessons taught to him by his dad, in-between hunting stories. Each story is entertaining while also teaching life advice at the same time. It's a great read!

Mr. Adams shares his close bond with his father and growing up in the marsh. It is a heart-warming story about a close-knit family and how they survive tragedy. I found it to be quite emotional for me – had to dry my tears in quite a few places. It was poignant and touching to read of his lessons from dad. Going to try to introduce this book into our book group here at the detention center – wish me luck!

Great Read

A book by a man raised by a father who taught him life lessons that inspired him to write a book. Chad spoke at our book club tonight and what a wonderful presentation he shared. This would be a perfect Fathers Day Gift. AND it make a wonderful movie.
