In Assertion of Sovereignty
A historic account of the all-out-war in Mindanao that details the strength, weaknesses, and opportunities of the Armed Forces of the country as they combat the secessionist movement of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) in Mindanao.
Its foreword was written by the present AFP commanding general Alexander Yano which partly said: "the state recognizes the Filipino Muslims' aspiration for self-determination. But its pursuit should not be undertaken through armed rebellion , as that would undermine the process of nation-building. Neither should it be pursued by designating certain areas within the Philippine territory exclusively for themselves since that would likewise compromise the integrity of the Republic of the Philippines."
Chapter 1 details about Muslim Insurgency and was followed with an assessment of armed capability. Chapter 3 tales on Military Action to Stay It. Its chapter 4 reveals the launched operation of the military dubbed as valiancy, audacity and sovereignty. Chapter 5 is about dominance and freeway operations that cleansed Narciso Ramos Highway from the control of the MILF. Chapter 6 is about the Seat of Insurgency, Chapter 7 talked on the Lending the Helping Hand and Chapter 8 is on 'Finally, Pausing to Reflect.'
The book has a complete list of military commanders under this campaign at its end.
