Everyone at Ryder High knows what it means to have a teal envelope taped to their locker on the first day of the month.
Mya Burton received not only one envelope, but two.
The second envelope held a change to the Secret Admirer program— if she agreed, Mya would be the first girl to have two Secret Admirers.
It had never been done before. In each clue, the boys would both answer the same basic questions, followed by writing a short, non-identifying letter to Mya.
At the end of the month, she would have to choose just one without knowing who he really is.
But before she can, a shakeup hits the school. A hater slanders the game, leaving Mya feeling defeated and the other chosen girls needing to stick together.
Will Mya be able to finish her month on a happy note?
And will her blind decision be the best one for her?
Danielle Keil grew up and spent the majority of her life in the Chicagoland area. A recent transplant, she is enjoying the Mississippi life, especially the pool in her backyard. Danielle is happily married for over 10 years, and has two young children, a daughter and a son, who are exact replicas of her and her husband.
Danielle's love language is gifts, her Ennegram is a 9w1, and she loves everything purple. The way to her heart is through coffee, chocolate and tacos (extra guac).
I don't know if that was the last book or if there will be more of this series, but so far this is the newest book released in this series, and it had a fin twist to it In this book, Mya who is a theatre girl becomes the main girl in secret admirer tradition, its just that .. this time she receives TWO teal envelopes .. which means there is a competition between two guys for her affection, guy A and guy B try their best to prove themselves to her, who will she choose? I am so glad that I discovered this book before I moved on from the series, I wish if there will be more of this series, these books are stinking cute and I really like Ryder High and their cute tradition, the book was nice and enjoyable, but there was barely any romance in it which was weird since the whole idea is about romance, overall this series is highly recommended for a sweet good time :)
OMG, I loved this book. Danielle Keil keeps the twists coming. This series just keeps on delivering. This one had not on but two secret admirers for Mya to choose from. Wait, there is also a hater of of Secret Admirer Society. Who does Mya choose and what happens with the hater? Pick up a copy of Dear Mya and find out. I have loved everyone book in the L9 e Notes Series.
Just when you think you have this cute series figured out, she throws in a shake-up! This month was so fun! I loved seeing Mya figure out her admirer, especially with the new spin on the blue envelopes. Every book is my new favorite!
This was a page turner with one heck of a twist to the secret admirer tradition for this month. The rules were different for this month so that added more intrigue to the teal envelope. Keil threw in another twist that had a ripple effect amongst the group of friends. Their lives are all intertwined together in a beautiful, unexpected way. Definitely recommend this book AND the entire series!!
I found this book to be fun & full of emotions. Mya needed to hear the positive words from the letters more than she thought. I would have never guessed the person at the end . He is a sweet choice for sure . Maybe they will keep each other grounded.
Read this book in one sitting as I'm becoming probe to doing with this series. Simply couldn't put it down. Really good story, loved the twists in it and can't wait for the next one.
This book was unbelievable. I completely devoured it in thirty minutes flat!
The characters were so real, so relatable, and reading the letters over Mya’s shoulder made me smile just as much as she did. I was surprised by the reveal, but can see it perfectly. Every teal envelope had me switching favorites!
Love Notes series: To enjoy this series you just have to accept the premise that there is a secret society which organizes this secret admirer game and that most of the teenage boys want to participate and that most of the girls wish to receive a letter. Especially for the boys I find that hard to believe, but like I said - just accept it and move on. You also have to accept that there are a lot of boys with a crush on a girl and they just wait for their turn to be the secret admirer instead of making a move on their own. Considering they can only participate in their junior and senior year and the game sometimes pauses for summer break, there are at maximum 24 months and A LOT more boys who want the spot. So that’s another really unrealistic part, but the books just don’t make sense if you don’t accept this. I was quite annoyed with this - in some books more than others - but I tried to forget that it’s kind of a stupid concept to pine silently away for your crush, to wait up to two years for your turn and never do something on your own. If you can look past that, the series is kinda cute. Some books are very enjoyable, others I really really didn’t like. But for all of them - I repeat myself - you HAVE to accept the premise.

Like the last one, this book made me feel a bit uneasy and I wasn’t even sure if I should read it. I’m really not a fan of love triangles and in this scenario - not knowing who the guys were and 100% ending up disappointing one of them - it was kind of even worse because Mya had to go through all the game before letting one guy down. Then there was the thing that I didn’t feel that connected to Mya. Either she was too “contradictory” in her character or I just didn’t get to know her that well, but for me it wasn’t an obvious choice and SPOILER as we learn in the last book it was actually the goal, that there wouldn’t be a question which guy to choose.
I liked who she chose, but this didn’t made up for my kind of icky feeling through the book and I didn’t feel that Mya was that into him. Understandably, not knowing it was him the whole book but for that level of anxiety the ending fell a bit flat.
I enjoyed this one a little more than the last few.
Mya was great. Not self centred or annoying. I liked her.
I enjoyed her relationship with Tucker and i thought he was one of the admirers at first. I liked they were in the theatre in different parts but fully supported each other.
I was kinda hoping we would find out who the other admirer was. Just us as a reader. Mya didn't need to know. She made her choice.
I was a little surprised they didn't figure out immediately who sent out the hate letters. It was pretty obvious but there was a whole chapter of them figuring it out
I like getting more from the other couple but i didn't like the way the guys were only called boyfriend. Marley's boyfriend nodded. McKinnon's boyfriend looked mad. We know there names by now, she could have used them.
This book was a bit interesting in that instead of it being the regular game there was a twist. I enjoyed reading about Mya and what made her tick. I think the interesting thing about this is, the guys name never came up throughout the book. Another observation I made was that even though the other girls who were selected prior to Mya were named but never who their boyfriends were which is rather odd. I liked how the author threw in an antagonist from the “outside” per se but I would like to know what’s her story and what made her take the actions that she did. I’m also wondering will we ever find out who is behind the Secret Admirers Organization. Just a thought…
Back in the halls of Ryder High and the school play is right around the corner. Mya is already stressed out with rehearsals and normal high school things, that's when she's sees the famous teal envelope on her locker, she was shocked why would anyone want to be her admirer. She wasnt that girl but she was now that girl, but this month was different Mya had not one but two guys that had put her name down and so with a new set of rules and guidelines for the month Mya makes history at Ryder. 2 guys 1 girl only to fall in love with 1 guy words will Mya be shocked with who she chooses or will she not be able to make a choice.
It’s safe to say as soon as I read the first page I was hooked! The twist and mystery of this book was absolutely incredible. You saw a little more into the world of the Secret Admirers and how connected they all are. I loved seeing it all come together for Mya in the end who deserved every bit of a love and happiness that the other girls experienced in their month.
