~ Cuffed (Everyday Heroes #1) This story made me feel so many emotions. Grant and Emmy were best childhood friends. When something happens, Emmy is suddenly gone, leaving them both hurt and confused. Now twenty years later Emmy is back, trying to make a life for herself. Grant is so happy to see Emmy, and is determined to reconnect. But Emmy still has her demons making it difficult to allow Grant past her defenses. This is a deeply moving and heartbreaking story of love, loss, suffering, healing, and hope. Ms. Bromberg explores sensitive subjects with empathy and honesty making me feel every emotion completely. Emmy and Grant's journey back to each other isn't an easy one but it was satisfying to watch them reconnect, push each others boundaries and have fun. I loved the relationship that Grant has with his family. I loved the banter between the brothers and their unconditional love and support made me fall for the whole family. Narrators Joe Arden, and Maxine Mitchell were wonderful bringing these characters to life. They magnified the doubt, fear, heartache, joy, and passion of this story and I was totally lost in this world. This is a beautiful, poignant, steamy romance, and I am excited to listen to the next books in this series.
~ Hard to Handle (Play Hard #1) I was totally consumed by this breathtaking, emotional, and sizzling second chance romance. This journey through love, loss, hope, and healing will have you in tears of heartbreak and joy! Hunter is the captain of his hockey team on the road to winning the cup and achieving personal goals. But he has demons that he keeps hidden and the pressure he's experiencing is soul crushing. Dekker is a sports agent working for her father and sisters in their family business. They need to make some changes and scoring Hunter as a client would be huge. Her father sends Dekker on a scouting and recruiting mission, not knowing that Dekker and Hunter had a passionate affair 3 years ago that ended in heartbreak. Traveling with the team puts Dekker and Hunter in close contact, bringing back long buried feelings and blurring professional lines. They both have tragic pasts that keep their hearts guarded, not willing to open up to more pain. They both are so blinded by what they believe as truth, they miss the love around them. But their souls cry out to each other, they see what others miss and provide a comfort and strength no one else can provide. I felt their pain so strongly, that there were moments that I wanted to put the book down and cry for them, but then I couldn't stop reading. I loved both Hunter and Dekker, they felt real and authentic and their relationship was so raw, poignant, and hard fought. They were so perfect for each other and their chemistry was palpable. I love that Ms Bromberg did not cut corners but allowed us to feel every thought, and emotion that Hunter and Dekker experienced. Her writing is so beautiful, and moving, and the banter and levity between her characters makes them feel genuine and easy to relate to. I loved everything about this mesmerizing story of hope, second chances, forgiveness and unconditional love. What a great start to this new 'Play Hard' series of standalone stories! I can't wait to read more about Dekker's sister's next!
Are you new to K. Bromberg? Off Limits is a great way to start..... pun intended because the THREE full length novels are the firsts books of 3 of series!!
The Player: Homerun!!!
K. Bromberg has done it once again!!! I fell in love with Easton and Scout right from the very beginning. Easton is a phenom baseball player following his dad's legacy, with an injury that needs rehabbing, and Scout is the physical therapist, following in her dad's footsteps, who is charged with getting Easton back to out on the field. The chemistry between them is electric from their first meeting and it's fun to watch Easton break through Scout's well constructed walls. This book has all the feels that K. Bromberg delivers with her usual perfection. As the title (The Player Duet Book 1) indicates this does end in a cliffhanger and I know without a doubt it will be amazing!
Cuffed: This book!! I've come to expect that when I read a K. Bromberg book, I'm going to get hit with all feels. Cuffed exceeded my expectations!! Cuffed is all about Grant, a police officer with a hero complex, and Emerson, a sky diver who has always run from her past. Grant and Emerson were best friends when they were 8, inseparable. Until something took Emerson away. It's been 20 years since they've seen each other and their reunion opens up the hurts of the past. This book is not all heavy, there plenty of light hearted moments, like the interactions with Grants family. Especially the banter between Grant and his brothers Grayson and Grady. There is also the chemistry that ignites between our H and h....hot!!!! Be warned....have some tissues handy!
Hard to Handle: There is no way my review can do Hard to Handle justice. I'm a big fan of K. Bromberg's. I have been since I picked up Driven. But let me tell you Hard to Handle is now my all time favorite K. Bromberg book and a top read of 2020.
Hard to Handle is the first in a series centered around the Kincaid sisters, all sports agents at Kincaid Sports Management. First up is Dekker, the oldest sister. She's a badass, she's sassy but she's also a little broken. Her father has tasked her with signing Hunter Maddox, a NHL star. He is literally imploding. Life delt him and his family a bad hand. He has been struggling for 16 years with guilt and so much more. Dekker, god I love her, knows that there is something going on with Hunter. She won't give up on him.
K. Bromberg really didn't hold anything back when she wrote this book. She grabbed me by the feels so many times, I felt like I was living this story with them. I laughed with them and man did I cry with them. At they end I cried happy tears.
Hands down, Hard to Handle is a MUST read!! It's going to stick with me for a long while....the best kind of book you can read.
Cuffed: Emerson and Grant were childhood friends who haven't seen each in 20 years. Ghosts from their past haunt the two of them in different ways. Grant will do anything to reconnect with his long-lost best friend and Emmy tries everything in her power to distance herself from her past which includes Grant. I loved everything about these two! I loved the ways Grant tore down Emerson's walls. How he helped her learn to trust again. I loved their banter, especially at the drugstore...so funny!
Bromberg did a great job writing about subject matter that is very difficult. I felt the emotion of this book. The story itself is simply amazing! It is a story of love, forgiveness and healing!
The Player: Give me more!!! I freaking love all things Easton and Scout! Their banter, their chemistry, even their stupid stubborn behavior. A definite read!
Hard to Handle: I am a huge fan of second chances and sports romances, so when I heard Kristy Bromberg was writing a new book that hits two of my favorite genres, I was beyond excited! She did not disappoint. Hard to Handle is simply incredible!
I felt like I was punched straight in the feels so many times throughout this book. Every interaction Dekker and Hunter had sizzled up the pages. You could feel their passion both when they were getting along and when they were fighting. SO. MUCH. CHEMISTRY! My heart broke for Hunter so many times throughout this book. Here you have a man at the top of the world and he still never feels good enough in the eyes of the people who should love him the most. However, Dekker sees him. She sees beyond the super star hockey player who has it all. The way she fought for him and saved him from drowning in the guilt and hurt was simply breathtaking.
Hard to Handle is without a doubt one of my favorite Bromberg books and that is saying something!
