With the Chamber of Eternity secure, Otto must now recover the second piece of the Immortality Engine.

But that task will be far from easy.

For the second piece, The Heart of Alchemy, lies far to the east in the fabled Celestial Empire.

Assassins, undead, monstrous beast, and demon worshippers all stand between Otto and his prize. And even more daunting, Valtan, the last living arcane lord, is determined to stop him. The cost be damned.

Can Otto overcome the forces arrayed against him and take the next step down the road to immortality?

Find out in The Heart of Alchemy, the sixth book in the Portal Wars Saga.

I've just finished listening to all 7 books of this while I was at work. Although each book gets slightly shorter than the previous one it was still a very long series! It was around 51 hours. I absolutely loved these books. Otto Shenk was a very interesting character and his entire quest for power fascinated me more each book. I was a tiny bit dissatisfied with the ending, but that's how life is! Things don't always end exactly how you expect them to and that's just fine. Anyone interested in reading this book series I absolutely would suggest you do. You won't forget this one!(Copying this onto all 7 books) Thanks James E Wisher.

This series continues with the main character continuing to escalate his magic and jump in and out of situations mostly unscathed. It makes me wait for a truly major challenge but is still an enjoyable read - and the main character seems to have levelled off in terms of evil things he is willing to do in the name of good.

Really good

It was pretty nice, although I still am waiting for Otto and Corina to get together. In each book it is alluded to and is a perfect match, and then stopped before the final step is made. Disappointing in that regard, but everything else is really nice! Looking forward to the next book!

Wow! What a ride!

Loved it!!!!!! Was awaiting disappointment, large travel by sea similar to the last story but no! It was very enjoyable, but Otto needs some romance! He has the urge just needs to down (ahem) time to see it happen 😁 book 7 here we come!!!!

It's really fun reading the protagonist slapping down opposition.

I wonder how the series would continue once he got all his items.

I really appreciate this series. I got a bit lost near the end because of not having time to actually listen to the audiobook, but I like the story nonetheless
