Clara McGowan's poetry is so beautiful and this collection is a gift. She captures feelings of heartbreak and healing so beautifully and I felt like I was living each moment she wrote about right there with her. The honesty really struck me throughout this collection; reading these poems was like the speaker was sharing her heart with me, and I felt privileged to be in these emotions with her. And the color photography inside this book was gorgeous and worked so well with the poems; I love how they were paired together. This is a must-read collection for anyone, but especially those working through heartbreak and/or working on self-love.

maybe a questionable decision to start reading this mere hours after i was broken up with, but i still fucking adored it. in fact, my mom got a surprise second copy when she got it for me for christmas, so my dumb soft ass annotated it and am planning on giving it to the boy as a token of appreciation (bc we're trying to be amicable and be friends again but we'll see how that goes lmao)
