I have so many mixed feelings about this story. On one hand, I feel bad for Amanda & the way she was treated, on the other hand she was definitely a little off and in my opinion was dangerous from the start. Although I don’t agree with Karen’s methods of punishing Amanda, I definitely understand why she felt the need to do “ something.” The Dad in this story was just as much to blame, especially after the twist was revealed. This was a wild and crazy ride, but I expect nothing less from Linette!
Guess it makes you truly think what goes through the mind of someone who's been neglected. Question is why didn't her father do anything when she was being mistreated?
Karen was wrong on so many levels. Based on the age differences, she had every opportunity to walk away and not tie herself to motherhood over Amanda when she knew that was the last thing she wanted to do. Mason and Ethan were just as guilty in their complicity and each earned their dates along with their mother. Amanda will visit the psych ward and she will go free as her final actions are the true definition of crime of passion!!!
Would Amanda have turned out differently if she lived in a loving, supportive and nurturing home? Her dad may have stood by her but he surely didn't do much good allowing Karen to treat her the way she did. The brothers played a part too by not backing Amanda's truths. Great story showing the effects of familial secrets and lies.
3.5 rounding up. Definitely not what I expected but very entertaining. I felt bad for Amanda. Children are supposed to be innocent. Her “mom” was wrong in so many ways.
