I just wanted a one night stand. Someone with experience who might make my first time memorable. I should’ve found a nice guy. Instead, I crawled into bed with the Devil himself. Now I need to figure out how to outrun the local MC and the president I let seduce me. It’d be a lot easier if he wasn’t the living embodiment of sin and determined to claim me.
I knew she was mine from the start.
As president of the MC, my word is law. Not even the pigs are stupid enough to question me. So when she waltzed in and offered herself to me, I never expected her to fight back when I claimed her. Nor did I expect to enjoy it so much when she did. But when a rival MC threatens her life, I’ve gotta tame her or risk losing her. She’s gonna figure out quick she signed her soul over to the devil and I always collect.
A.F. Montoya is a daydreamer turned writer who writes contemporary mafia romances. She’s been reading romance novels since her mother bought her one as a joke when she was a teen and now writes them and shares them with her mother, much to her chagrin. She enjoys reading in her spare time and supporting other authors. When she isn’t writing or thinking about new book ideas she is supporting her husband and kids.
4.3 stars. This was good, but it was just a little too cliché to be great. She had a hard time accepting the fact that he’s a 1%er, he kept being a possessive caveman without actually saying anything, just expecting her to listen. 🤦 Plus the relationship was pretty shallow. We learned almost nothing about either character other than surface level stuff and that they had fire chemistry.
It was still entertaining and had some really hot moments, it just wasn’t my favorite.
21 year old Riley wants to lose her virginity, when her friend convinces her to go to a biker party she decides why not. That why not changes everything, she meets the President of the MC Croy and has a night she will never forget but for Riley she only planned on one night.
Croy new that Riley was his game changer, what he did not expect was her gone the morning after. He has another MC after their territory and does not need the extra distraction of Riley but she is his woman so he goes after her. Riley though is not as tameable as he hopes. He likes her sassy side and is willing to give her time to come to terms with what they are. That being said though when she is in danger, Croy is by her side and not letting her go.
A bit angsty but overall good story. Croy is a bit of a butthead in the beginning and Riley can be obstinate but together they end up working. Has a ton of characters I would like to see stories for. Great read.
DNF I can’t help it this book for some reason made me think of a character from the 1959 James Bond movie Goldfinger— however instead of Pussy Galore—how the heck did they get away with that in 1959- anyways we have Teenybopper galore! The fmc is so immature I just could not with this book. Farewell Teenybopper galore!
Wow, that was OTT 😅 the MCs were acting very juvenile for a lot of the story….but somehow I kept flipping the pages. The H is a giant jerk that doesn’t take no for an answer and chases the h relentlessly (love that). The h is quite annoying constantly resisting and being TSTL. But as I said before…I had a hard time putting this down 🤷♀️ So take it for what it is, some mindless entertainment with some hawt spice!
Safety: - OM: a rival MC wants the h. They cause a lot of trouble, but get dealt with. - OW: a ‘sweetbutt’ (hate that term) comes on to H at a club party and touches him. H doesn’t stop her right away to see what h will do. h chases OW off, but MCs fight about the incident. - No cheating - No separation / no third act break up
Plot: 3.5/5 • Smut: 4/5 ———> She’s a virgin out to lose that card fast. Riley goes to an MC party with her two friends. One of whom has a brother in the MC. That’s where Riley meets Croy, the president of the club. Sparks fly. Hearts flutter. She loses that card pretty damn quickly. There’s a good chunk of this read that you’ll have him pining over her and her wanting nothing to do with him. We love a girl that plays hard to get. This ends on a HEA. Lots of heavy smut throughout this entire book. It’s plentiful and it’s good. In this read you will get:
This is the first book in a new series and what an amazing beginning this story is. This is a well written story which is an emotional roller coaster throughout, with danger, suspense, intrigue, twists, humour, witty banter, challenges, revelations, and love which all leads to a thrilling and addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
How can you fit all the worst possible tropes in, except for the whole drugs, guns, and criminals MC?
Virgin FMC, whorish MMC. Alphahole MMC, treats me like shit, so I must love him FMC, betrayed body trope.
He only refers to her as baby or sweetheart. He didn’t even know what her name was the next day, after having sex with her. He introduces her to the most graphic, full on, un-gentle intro to sex you could fear. No romance, no respect, he didn’t even bother fully undressing the first time, though he stripped her. Hell he ‘ordered’ her to get undressed initially, no kisses, nothing. This is a virgin remember. 😵💫🤢 My skin is crawling.
How am I supposed to care about either of these characters? I’ve read 2 other books by this author, enjoyed both. 😳🤔😮💨
Each to their own taste. But REALLY need to provide CW, or TW if the author doesn’t want needless bad reviews.
I find it hard to be non-judgy with this, as there’s no safe words, he doesn’t allow her to say no, and uses intimidation and manipulation with a woman who was a virgin before him. He’s also more than 10yrs older, [shes 21]. At one point he consider whether he wants to get her fired from her job or not…absolutely repulsive. She vacillates between being terrified, pissed off, and aroused 😳🤮
She lacks the experience, the confidence, or the knowledge of how to deal with all this, or to know how to protect herself from being overwhelmed by his desires and decisions.
This all just feels so wrong, and a really poor message to put out there without some sort of disclaimer or comment that what is written is fantasy, and not meant as endorsement to actually behave this way.
I skimmed over several more chapters, skipping ahead, it didn’t get better. I read one part where she tries punching him, he laughs at her, encouraging her to ‘come on, try again’, ‘if you wanted to be on top, you only had to ask’ etc.. Literally laughing and dismissing her anger and feelings. But she still wants him, and is turned on by him.
3.5* She’s so immature at first that I nearly stopped reading. Glad I carried on reading.
The book begins with 21 year old Riley and her friends, going to a party at the Mc. Riley is still a virgin and wants a real man to be her first. Croy is the president of the Devil’s Disciples Mc, and as soon as their eyes meet there is a powerful attraction. After a hot night of endless sex, Riley sneaks out in the morning and Croy chases her. I’m really not sure why as she’s so immature and her friend Allie is horrid!!! Allie’s brother Reaper is the enforcer for the Mc, and they have a seriously acrimonious relationship.
Allie and her friends are all in danger from a rival Mc. When they locked down in the Mc, Riley and Allie act like spoilt brats! Acting like the danger is a ploy to control them. Eventually Riley realises how much danger she’s in and I really liked her later on in the book.
I’ll be honest and say that I wasn’t expecting a lot from this book. Three 21 year old women who are friends and very very immature, but it in the end I really enjoyed it. Just not sure I want to read Allie’s book, which is book three, as I hated her character.
This writers new series, first book, just grabbed me from the get-go. The characters, plot, spice, danger, dirty talk, all of it, I really enjoyed.
Loved the characters and can't wait to see this world develop. Nitty gritty: Mistakes: minimal (proofer/editor, it matters to me) Spice: medium (lots of great dirty talk, smexy scenes get it done, but I'm just a fan of dark and disturbing), so 3 out of 5 🔥 Characters: excellent, loved them (supporting were well written) MMC and MFC were perfect. Development and progression are believable. Plot: Personally, not satisfying, but exciting (Hammer better be brought to club justice... just saying).
Seriously, great quick read, and well done. Can't wait to keep exploring the Disciples' world. Hurry! Write fast!!!
DNF at 48% It started out good. I was hopeful for a heroine that is not a doormat but she is, and she suffers from betraying body syndrom. I hate that trope. and all the misogynistic bullshit got old quick. If a man stalks you, calls you "brat" or "woman", leave. He did not take no for an answer and somehow she fell in love. That sort of situation should have been frightening to her, and yet she is ready to have sex as soon as he starts talking.
Hero is a stalker, misogynitic, psycho. He invades heroine home and refuses to leave. he refuses to leave her alone despite heroine saying "no" several times. Women hating women because one female character dared to enjoy having sex. The guy has so many red flags that it would be too long to list.
The story wasn’t bad. A bit cliché and cringe at times yes, but it was a fun ride (no pun intended). Not going to lie at the beginning I was getting nervous because the FMC was annoying AF and I was struggling hahah oh and don’t get me started on one of the friends, the one that has the brother in the MC, she is awful!!!! “Trouble” more like a whiny little btch hahaha. Back to the book, at least the story moves on and at the end I was like “oh okay, it wasn’t that bad” the MMC was okay, he sure as heck was a caveman hahaha. I’m actually looking forward to the stories of Quinn and Chase, those two characters were kind of cute, so I’m hoping they get books too.
Croy !? (Who came up with that name?) Is the president of the Devil's Disciples. MC. When a girl walks in on a club party with her friends, he decides he wants her, but by next morning she is gone. He finds her easily and makes a nuisance of himself until she agrees to see him again.
This getting together runs alongside trouble with another MC . Croy's character is far from romantic. He is demanding, bad tempered, controlling, but fiercely loyal to his brothers.
What a great book! This one caught me and I just couldn't put it down. I was pleased with the fact that MC and the romance merged so well. This is the story of the President, Croy and Riley. They had an unorthodox meeting but Croy knew there was something about Riley. Throw in the prerequisite bad MC with its evil leader and you have a fantastic, well written story. Recommended for anyone who love a good MC romance. I can't wait to read the remainder of the series.
An absolutely awesome read. Loved Croy and Riley’s story ❤️❤️❤️ they were made for each other. Once she got used to his caveman ways their was no holding them back. He was rough and demanding but behind closed doors he gave Riley his heart. Winning a war but losing an important member of their brotherhood broke them both but they held onto each other till they got to the other side of grief. 100% recommend this book to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I am so so glad that this book caught my eye, in a facebook room. Its no secret that i just love MC books, and this Author has really done justice with this wonderful story. I had to do a chuckle to myself at different times in the book because Croy even though he knew what he wanted, he sometimes didnt go about it the right way commumicating like a cave man lol. I loved it. As for Riley when she first saw Riley she didnt really know who he was, all she wanted was one night. But what a night it was. Croy had literely just claimed her in the bed however she didnt realise it till he turned up at her place of work. Together these two have hot to trot chemistry, but the Devils Disciples have enemies, and its Riley who is in the Crossfire.
A really wonderful story, worth all of five stars plus in my opinion.
It's a 3.75 star read for me. It's a great book & I'll read the next one BUT the writing in places just didn't do it for me 😱. Its like 2 authors wrote this. I liked Croy ( weird name) alot ( I kept calling him Corey) but bloody hell sometimes I really did wanna strangle Riley 😲. Yes she young (21/22) & it showed. She was very hot & cold. Croy did have the patience of a saint!! Anyway onto book 2. . .
Its been a while since Ive read such a good biker story. Aside from the excellent writing, Montoya has excellent character development. There was nothing I didnt like about the story. The bikers were real, dirty, and all men. I was happy they kept to the script and let the women be themselves while still obeying the rules of the club. I cant wait to read the next one.
Not for me. Love Montoya's shifter series. Really love the mc baby book.
But this one was awful! I like mc books, even though I have outgrown a lot of the bs, so it's not the genre thats the problem. It's just isn't any romance in the book, the H is a wannabee alpha and the h is a childish brat with no depths. There isn't anything likeable about anyone or anything.
Well, I'm just gonna skip this one and stick with her later books.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Surprisingly better than I thought it was gonna be. Not super long so a little bit of insta obsession I guess. However I kind of liked how possessive he was over her from just one night together. I also loved how protective he was of her and how his MC backed him up no matter what. Honestly my favorite part of MC romances is the found family aspect and how much they support each other and protect their own. Honestly just a fun read.
I've wanted a "he's immediately in love with her and she can't stop it" book for a while now and this scratched the itch. He was really dumb at times, but so was she so it worked out well. There's also not a lot of suspense in this one, which is nice, but there is a pretty graphic scene of so keep that in mind. Overall, it's not the best ever MC book you'll read, but it's good enough that I'm continuing on to the second book.
It was a good book. The MMC was very cave man like but for some reason it suit him well. I was happy when he started to let the FMC know what’s going on instead of leaving her clueless. Now our FMC Riley she didn’t grow on me to way past the half mark in this book. She was so immature and childish. Too much of that stupid bratty behavior. I hope the rest of these FMC aren’t the same. That’s the only reason I took off one star.
This book had the components that make a great read. Alpha male-check. Strong heroine-check. Rivalry and danger-check. And characters that made you emotional. Riley is a strong, independent woman who doesn't let Croy walk all over her. And he is willing to fight for her. I bawled like a baby because of Mass.
The storyline was interesting and kept me reading as time allowed. Loved the banter between the MC members and the ladies. Learned some things I never knew about MCs. One part of the book brought tears to my eyes. The way it was written felt like I was there witnessing everything first hand. Book should include trigger warnings. Will continue the series.
I really liked this book. It kept me hooked from the start. The plot, banter, the mmc chasing after the fmc, and we can't forget... the spice! 🥵 this book just kept on giving.
I loved the main characters instantly. This book made me laugh and cry (I really liked Mass 😭). I love a book that can pull out those emotions.
I enjoyed reading about Riley and Croy relationship. Their a conflict between Two Mc clubs. Riley finds that she is in love with the President (Croy) of the motorcycle club. The other club members were great.
Ong this book was fantastic I was hooked from the first chapter. I laughed I cried and I gushed . Not a heavy mc book but one that is great in every sense of the word.
