Debbie has been holding it together for years, hiding a big secret. She had to run away to London to escape the police who were hunting her down as Susie Broughton, a fifteen-year-old frightened out of her mind. Working on the East End streets and becoming Debbie was the best thing she’s ever done, but every Christmas, memories surface, and she’s forced to face her past.
This year is no different, except it is. The person she’s feared finding her has surfaced, intent on torturing Debbie, then killing her. It starts with a nasty note, and Debbie has no choice but to ask for help. First, she talks to one man she didn’t think she’d ever turn to, and with the twins behind her, too, Debbie can relax, allowing the men in her life to take charge.
The question is, will the gangsters round up Debbie’s pursuer before the pursuer gets to her? Can they keep her safe while looking for someone who doesn’t want to be found? With dodgy police officers on hand to provide information, there’s a good chance people will die in the warehouse.
And elsewhere.
The bloodshed isn’t just on The Cardigan Estate this time. It’s in another town, the place where it all began, the body count rising, all to keep Debbie’s secret safe.

I was waiting for the release of this book as I love The Cardigan Series. Emmy Ellis has created characters that you end up liking given their past mistakes.
In this book we have bullying, murder, revenge and betrayal.
We see relationships strengthen with George and grow between Moon and Debbie.
Well I certainly didn't expect this !!! After reading the full series ( actually the last book I thought was a little hard work ) I may well revisit it This book was fantastic a little too descriptive in parts but that's part of the theme Thoroughly enjoyed it Can't wait for the next Ransom
