Harlee is lost. At seventeen, the constant highs and lows of dealing with her mental illness alone have taken their toll. She feels like she can’t go on. In one final act of desperation, with the lure of an escape from the pain, she makes a choice.
Cohen deals with issues of his own though his music allows him a slight reprieve. While playing on the banks of the river, he meets Harlee in her lowest moments.
A chance meeting at exactly the right moment offers a glimmer of hope for two wounded souls.
When you’ve only ever felt invisible, what happens when you’re finally seen?

I know this was Skye's first dive into YA, and I have to say it was a hit. She handled the sensitive content so well, actually a little lighter than I expected. I love how Cohen and Harlee find their person in each other. They are a wonderful pairing, and their relationship shows how anything is possible when you find the right person. The hope, support, and acceptance they give each other create a beautiful love story.
This story is about mental health and Skye hit the nail on the head about what those who suffer from it feels. It’s a beautifully written story by Skye and I highly recommend everyone to read That Day to understand how people who suffer feel.
What an amazing book for teenagers to let them know they are not alone. I have a daughter with mental health issues and I am miking sure she reads this book. Highly recommended
