With the majestic Rocky Mountains just outside the window, I sit at my computer with vampires, demons, witches, faeries, and a variety of paranormal creatures gathered around telling me their stories! That makes me an author of paranormal romance novels and cozy mysteries with magic spark. The everyday world is mundane, but sprinkle a little magic and you have fantastic!

Colorado is home. I share my life with a wonderful husband of many moons, our brilliant Chow Chow, a terribly spoiled companion parrot, and a forty-year-old
box turtle. We enjoy hiking, biking, and camping, also love water sports including kayaking and whitewater
rafting, especially on the Arkansas River through the Royal Gorge.

Another passion of mine is reading a good novel. You can find me any winter evening curled up in front
of a crackling fire with a good book, a mug of hot chocolate, and a big bowl of popcorn. While growing up, if I didn’t like the ending of a book, I’d rewrite it, which led to writing my own books.

Reluctantly, I discovered that in real life it’s tough to rewrite an ending.

Such a huge fan of Christmas cookies, I literally had to beg and plead to get to read this book! So many wanted to read it and I was ready to pull it out of Mr. N's hands. Lol! Was such a ride! Never have read this Tena but holy crap, she's the bomb!

Wynter is such a great character but not greater than Blaze. The words just flow and I was so caught up, I finished this book almost right away. What a great treat to love a book that you read for work!

Truthfully, I am gonna buy a copy of this for myself. So much fun, romance, laughs and more. The action scenes are done in a subtle way, the book isn't held back by them. The little village reminds me of a paranormal ever green!

A great Christmas story. A great paranormal romance. A great romantic suspense. Some really great cookie recipes! Whatever you think you want to read right now - replace it with this book. This is THE book to read in the next six weeks. Then read it again when you just want to enjoy a fun read. I am going to make a stink at work with my campaign for this to be a book of the year nominee. I loved this and you will too! Hey, just buy this book!

Disclaimer: I received a copy from the author in the hopes I'd review it. My thoughts are all my own.

My Rating: 5++ stars

“What is Christmas without a little magic?”

Well, Ms. Stetler has enchanted me with her beautiful story, Meringue Snowflake Magic. I yearned to wander the snow-lined streets of Raven’s Hollow, grab a slice of pizza at Dragon Fire Pizza, sample delicious holiday cookies, and finish with a cup of steaming cocoa. She immersed me within the pages of her story. Along with all the charming sites, there’s also a mystery to solve! And soon, I was caught up in the adventure with Blaze and Wynter. I adored these characters!

A captivating and warm holiday read. Perfect for the season or anytime of the year.

A sweet and spicy holiday cookie-themed paranormal cozy mystery!

Meringue Snowflake Magic is both a sweet and spicy story. Wynter has been ripped away from everyone she holds dear; her life depends on successfully vanishing and staying hidden. She has no idea what has happened to her best friend, Syndi, or her family, who are now also in danger because of what she witnessed.

Before she can even unpack or adjust to her new surroundings, she’s visited by the ladies of Raven’s Hollow bearing gifts of food, but as a group, they are a little overwhelming nonetheless. Even her first meeting with Deputy Braydon “Blaze” Nightwing is overshadowed by fear. She has no idea who she can trust yet.

The story becomes fun when her nerves get the best of her during their first date, and I wondered if they could give it another chance. But Blaze is a sweetie and sexy to boot, and love and lust eventually overcome all obstacles.

Besides the bad men hunting Wynter, her family, and her friend, Syndi, there is a delightful subplot regarding the upcoming holiday cookie contest that everyone in Raven’s Hollow takes very seriously, especially Councilwoman Agnes Goody. Her various subterfuges to get a leg up on everyone else was fun. The descriptions of the event and the cookies are tantalizing, and a couple of the winning cookie recipes are included in the book.

I recommend MERINGUE SNOWFLAKE MAGIC to cozy mystery readers who enjoy a touch of the paranormal in their stories and holiday or culinary themes.

Meringue Snowflake Magic is part of the Christmas Cookies 80-book series. I am not kidding! 80 Christmas cookie themed stories!

This is the second book I have read from author, Tena Stetler. I will definitely read more. The blurb gives the story synopsis, so I won’t repeat that part.

The mixing of a witness-protection mystery and paranormal characters made for a delightfully unique story. When you add in the holiday festivities and the hotly-contested annual cookie competition, this is a book you shouldn’t miss.

Wynter and Blaze have an instant attraction. She is tech savvy, witty, and very independent, while Blaze is almost like the town caretaker. He feeds everyone at his pizza joint and protects the town as a deputy sheriff.

The action is fast. Everything about this novella is fast, which means it holds the reader’s attention. The paranormal aspect mixes witches with shifters. I loved Wynter’s powers. Oh to be able to wave a hand and the chores are done. That is true magic! As a dragon-shifter, Blaze is an amazing hero.

This has all the makings of a sweet romance…except for one chapter of open-door bedroom activity. If you aren’t a fan of that, it’s easy to skip without spoiling the story.

Overall, this is a fast, fun story to read. The addition of two of the winning cookie recipes is worth the price of the book. I can’t wait to try the cookies and more books from this series.

I received a digital copy of the book for a blog tour. This review is my honest opinion. You can learn more about Meringue Snowflake Magic on my website, www.GinaRaeMitchell.com.

Cute Paranormal Holiday Romance with a Bit of Suspense

This author states that this is a feel-good story, but it certainly has an element of romantic suspense. The heroine is a witch who hasn't really explored her powers and is now in witness protection for a wrong-place, wrong-time event that happened when she was with her best friend. She is sent to a small town in Colorado, and it quickly becomes apparent that this is a special place. It is home and haven for shifters and other paranormal creatures! I loved watching the part-time undersheriff, a dragon shifter and pizza parlor owner, deal with the small town's citizens, like a pixie who can simply vanish when she runs off after stealing something. The hero has a couple of cool abilities himself, like using his fire breathing to help warm people up if they're near death. This book intertwines the paranormal aspects with elements you would expect to see in a holiday romance. This small town pulls out all the stops with various events over the holiday season, including the much-beloved and highly competitive cookie contest, which one woman has won three years running, and the undersheriff wants to win this year! Will the heroine's past catch up with her? Will she be able to protect herself with the help of her new dragon shifter boyfriend… if she will accept him as such? You'll have to check out the book to find out.

I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

Wynter Dahl is relocated to the small town of Raven’s Hollow in Colorado. She’s keeping plenty of secrets from the residents, but little does she know the residents are doing the same to her!

Local deputy sheriff and also the owner of the local pizza parlour Blaze Nightwing happens upon Wynter by chance, much to her embarrassment since she’s taken a tumble in the snow.

They get off to a prickly start, but Blaze, being such a hunk, wins Wynter over. And that’s when all the action begins.

I enjoyed the novella. It does get off to a slow start with a herd of women pushing their way into Wynter’s home, but after meeting Blaze, the plot starts moving. The author has plenty of Christmas treats for the readers with recipes, plenty of magic, and a sweet romance between Wynter and Blaze. There is also a mystery (something that I adore), as more is revealed to the reader.

It’s a bite-sized read with a satisfying ending. Do yourself a favour and get a copy. It’s a great way to pass a Christmas evening by the fireplace before decorating the tree.

Uncaged Review: This is fun short read that introduces the reader to these characters in Raven’s Hollow, a town with a secret, a town full of magical beings. Wynter is sent there under the witness protection program, and has no idea what kind of town she’s been sent to. Having to give up all her family and friends, she’s sent off, as is several of her family members and her best friend to different locations. She’s befriended almost on the first day, by Blaze, the owner of the local pizza place and a deputy sheriff. Blaze has his own secrets, but so does Wynter.

But when her cover is blown, the whole town will come to her aid to protect her and her family.

This is a nice short story that can easily be read in one sitting, and the characters and the town are as fun as they sound. Within the danger of the situation, there is the town’s annual Snowflake Festival and the coveted cookie contest. I enjoyed the town and the characters and my only disgruntlement is that the story was over too soon.

Tindra Shebolt was Wynter Dahl as she was now living in Witness Protection in the small town of Raven’s Hollow. She was stuck in a “Podunk town, cut off from family, friends, and her world.” She takes a tumble in the snow and is rescued by the handsome man that owned the pizza place.

What set Wynter apart from the other members of the community was that she was a magical witch. On the other hand, the town had its own secret. Apparently, the town was full of shifters. Did Wynter know that?

Apparently, the big deal around this town was the holiday cookie contest.

The narrative was easy to get into, although it was kind of slow and long at times. Story was rather witty and overall, a nice read. Towards the end, it does get kind of technical with all the wizardry and devices. It’s so dry and techy that you almost lose sight of the story. I didn’t really like that it got so complicated. But if you ignored that last part, this turned out to be a pretty decent holiday romance.

Wynter Dahl finds herself in Raven's Hollow, Colorado with a new name after being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Separated from friends and family, she has secrets to keep and isn't sure who to trust. Still, she finds herself drawn to Braydon "Blaze" Nightwing who owns Dragon Fire Pizza. Blaze is also a deputy sheriff who takes his job seriously. When Wynter's cover is blown, Blaze and the entire town come together to save her just in time for the annual holiday festival and cookie contest.

I really enjoyed this delightful story which drew me in and kept me hooked. This was a quick, fun read that was full of magic. Set in an enchanting small town with everything from pixies to dragons, this story has everything you need from a paranormal, holiday tale. I highly recommend it.

Mix a holiday romance and paranormal elements with a cookie contest and you have a winning recipe. While in witness protection, Wynter is placed in Raven’s Hollow and is quickly placed under the protection of Blaze, owner of the Dragon Fire Pizza and deputy sheriff. Their chemistry is instant and steamy. The plot contains a bit of mystery as well as a town filled with all sorts of paranormal creatures that come together to protect their new resident. This captivating storyline is a perfect afternoon read. The cover is beautiful, and the delicious pages include Christmas magic, pizza, cookies, and two tasty recipes. I liked this story yet it felt like there was so much not explored in this story. Likable characters, but we only see a little glimpse into their personality. The story moved quickly, and at times a little too quickly, and the bit of conflict resolved so quickly there was no building of tension. I think this story would have benefited from a larger word count, with more scenes, suspense, character and romance development. So much potential for a really good full length novel. That being said, this story had some good humour and was a good quick Christmas themed paranormal story. *I received an ARC of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.

I received this ARC from Hidden Gems and it is the first story I have read by this author. In fact, I did not realize that there would be paranormal elements until I was well into the story. Think it made for a fun Christmas story, that was not just a typical small-town romance. The story focuses on Wynter Dahl, who as part of the Witness Protection program she finds herself the town of Raven’s Hollow, Colorado. Little does she realize that the inhabitants of this town are more than they appear. Beyond the upcoming Christmas festivities, the community comes together to protect Wynter.

I have enjoyed this short story, mixed with the magic, mystery and danger is love, laughter and one very serious cookie competition! I loved Blaze, he was a complex man and yet so at ease with who he was and just got on and did what needed doing. The sparks flew when he and Wynter got together, she ended up in the right place at the right time, with the right man. I am voluntarily leaving this review after receiving an ARC from Hidden Gems.

This was a very cute, short read. I love the idea of an entire town dedicated to supernatural life, which also has a highly competitive cookie baking contest. This had a bit of a holiday vibe mixed with a bit of a danger vibe that all came together in a cool way.
While I did enjoy this overall, it felt like it went by too fast. I didn’t feel like I got to know the main characters or the plot before everything was resolved. I love a short read, but this just felt too short and not fleshed out enough to really engage me. The romance was very condensed, and some of the more, ahem, adult moments didn’t feel like part of the romantic arc so much as an after-the-fact thing. Overall, I didn’t feel like I saw enough of the romance developing to really get the sense these characters should end up together.
All in all, a feel-good story with some magic. Recommend for fans of mostly lighthearted paranormal romance.

I received this book for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

A rather sweet and fun read. Wynter was hiding and found more than she could have imagined. She was smart but had been in the wrong place at the wrong time. I enjoyed her journey to safety and love while bringing her family together again. I loved Blaze with his protectiveness and rascal-like behavior. Secrets, danger, surprises, magic, and cookies made this an enjoyable story.

I rated the book 3.5 stars but rounded to 4 stars here and on other sites.

Meringue Snowflake Magic by Tena Stetler was a quick and fast-paced read but didn’t quite have the depth I was looking for.

Much of the circumstances surrounding Wynter and her family, as well as her best friend going into the Witness Protection Program, is glossed over, and I didn’t feel like I had all the information or details. Wynter, although a witch, didn’t know that the location she was placed in, Raven’s Hollow, Colorado, was magical.

There’s a lot of magic with different magical beings throughout, and there were some laugh-out-loud moments for me. There are a lot of secrets, and Wynter doesn’t like to follow orders or rules, which could have caused quite a problem for her, the others, and her new town.

She and Blaze, a dragon living in town, hit it off when they first meet, but she’s unsure of her feelings or what she wants. He perseveres, and when she’s all in, there’s no stopping her.

There are a few twists to the story, and I liked how Blaze was there for everyone. Set at Christmas, many holiday happenings are taking place in town, which was a nice addition. Multiple stories are told, and they are connected nicely. There is some closure and a happily ever after that was quick to come to fruition, but the story ended abruptly. I liked the inclusion of the cookie recipes in the back of the book, which nicely ties into the story.

I like books that include recipes that I can try as well as some magic, just not usually the paranormal type.

Ms. Stetler is a new-to-me author. I may give a few of her romances and mysteries a try.

I rated the book 3.5 stars but rounded to 4 stars here and on other sites.

Meringue Snowflake Magic is a fun little cozy winter read that will take you away from the hassle of holiday shopping for a few hours. Come join Wynter as she is whisked away to a small out of the way kind of place as she tries to stay safe and alive.

Wynter has been placed in witness protection in the Podunk town of Raven’s Hollow, Colorado. A town that is full of little secrets. But the thing is Wynter has a few secrets up her sleeve as well.

Meringue Snowflake Magic is a joyful magical little read that is sure to lift your spirits for a few hours or maybe more as it will leave you with a warm cozy feeling for a long time after the last page is read.

Meringue Snowflake Magic is written so well that you can just see the little town in all its glory with all the little shops on main street especially the pizza place and its owner, Blaze. Oh, and let me tell you Blaze is just as hot as his name leads you to believe he is. In the words of Wynter oh what a body indeed.

If you are looking for a way to spend a few short hours relaxing then let me suggest that you grab a copy of Meringue Snowflake Magic, a snugging, a cup of hot chocolate, and sit by a warm fire and join Wynter, Blaze, and the little town of Raven’s Hollow as their secrets are revealed.

Part of the Christmas Cookies series, a well written story that held my interest throughout. Wynter Dahl is in witness protection after seeing something that brought trouble to her life. She is sent to Raven’s Hollow, Colorado where she meets Braydon “Blaze” Nightwing the owner of Dragon Fire Pizza and a deputy sheriff. When her cover is revealed the town, Braydon come to her aid. I enjoyed seeing their story come together and them get a happy ending. Both recipes at the end sound really good. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
