Sweet Ferocity begins with a slight overlap of the events of Sweet Brutality.
Katie Antonova (Katia Novikoff), a photography student at Worthington University in Virginia has been kidnapped by the yakuza. They intend to use her as leverage against her father, Russian crime boss, Egor Novikoff.
Although his daughter wasn’t worthy of bodyguards, leaving her vulnerable, despite her brothers having been unalived, Egor does have plans for her. Upon discovering she’s gone missing, he hires Luka Siderov, mafia mercenary to find her. He couldn’t have predicted the chain of events this action would set into motion, however.
Luka becomes invested after simply seeing a photo of his Katie, making the extraction personal. He’s unapologetically set his sights on her and their story is all the things.
His breath was heavy as he asked, “Like what you see, princess?” I bristled. “Stop calling me princess.” His lips twisted in a smirk. “How about I just call you mine?”

This is the last (I believe) in the Obession series!! And I'm sad to see it go Zoe made this one of my fave series to read so if your into OTT alpha me. This series is for you. Now let's get to the book!!
We saw Luka in the last book he has a mission to locate Katie and bring her back to her father but his plans change when he gets to see her picture and knows his woman isn't safe. After they rescue her and Carinna the sexual tension is high and boyyy Lukas rules the fighting the banter and our girl Katie isn't giving up her life without a fight she even drugs him to get away works for few hours but he isn't done with her. He'll let her live her life but with him in it she's still hesitant since she doesn't wanna be with any Russian due to what happened to her mother and well her father is a douche. So that's a big reason why, we also see her push his buttons and boy Lukaaaa was so possessive he made sure these frat boys knew not to touch wants his. These men are so good I wanna find one myself 🥰🥰
The friendship between the men and woman was amazing I loved every second of it.

4 - 4.5 Bulldozing Stars!
This is the fifth and final book in the Ruthless Obsession series and I am legitimately upset that Zoe is leaving this world. I love her bulldozer alpha males who come in like a damn wrecking ball to their women's lives. This whole series has been delicious and deviant and this last installment was no exception.
Katie (Katia Novikoff) is a mafia princess who has left that life behind and become a photography student at a university but ends up being kidnapped by the Yakuza who want to use her as leverage. But her father only wants her recovered for his own personal gains and hires Luka Siderov, the merciless mafia mercenary. The OG MMM.
As soon as Luka lays eyes on Katie in a photograph, well he is done for and decides that no matter her reservations, she WILL be his. This sets a string of events in motion of Luka plowing through Katie's life and changing it irrevocably and Katie coming to terms with what her future now looks like. But their path to a HEA is paved with enemies and Luka and Katie must work together and trust each other to make it out alive.
Luka, like ALL of Zoe's heroes are over-the-top, possessive, obsessive and borderline psychotic. I always find it amusing when people read this series and comment on the dubcon and other triggering content in these because at this point...it's hard not to be aware of the types of stories and heroes Zoe writes. Her writing is dark and boundary pushing and some of her backlog I won't read but I have loved her mafia world. While I certainly don't condone the type of behavior these men display in real life, in my romance...well gimme gimme. Luka was all that and a bag of chips. While not my favorite of the men in this series, he still had that hard and sexy edge to him along with a marshmallow side for his girl.
Katie was fierce and tenacious and stood up for herself even when Luka tried to bend her to his will. I liked that she pushed back and gave as good as she got (is that the saying?). Luka and Katie had a lot of chemistry and the steam in here was explosive.
I enjoyed the storyline but I was a little disappointed that the beginning was partly an overlap from the previous book. Seeing the past characters and how they've grown was nice so I would say this book should not be read as a standalone. Overall, I really liked this and I hope that Zoe returns to writing these types of men and their badass women because I am definitely aware she writes much darker content. If you like completely over the top mafia stories with an element of kink and darkness, give this a try.

This is the last in the author's series about Russian bratva men and the American women they love. Because so many characters from other books appear and the couple first met in Sweet Brutality (that scene is repeated here), I'm not sure this works as a standalone.
The strength of these books is the men's insta-love for and insta-devotion to women they have just met. Those looking for the protective/possessive MMC character type who will “love and cherish you every moment there is breath in his body" will enjoy this. I also appreciated the class difference between Katie and Luka, the MFC's professional goals, and that Luka appreciated them. Often in this genre, the women are destitute and rescued by impossibly wealthy and well-connected men who turn them into trophy wives; that this was not quite the case here was a welcome change. Finally (in terms of positives), I liked the close-knit community; the ending, .
Before I get to my negatives, I want to say that I completely understand that these are escapist fantasies with narratives crafted solely for the purpose of uniting the heterosexual couple. These books aren't supposed to be realistic and, because of that, they exist outside time. That said, sometimes this is more palatable than others and this was not -- at least for me. Given all that's going on in the world, I couldn't stomach two aspects of this book. Russia's real-life invasion of Ukraine makes these Russian "heroes'" arms deal with Saudi Arabia nauseating rather than super-groovy organized crime fiction-lite. And breeding kink is my new hard limit: Luka's refusal to let Katie take Plan B puts him in the same category as the rabid forced-birther movement who want to ban birth control and imprison women for murder if they try to take control of their own bodies.
2 1/2 stars. Because what I say here won't bother most readers, I do think many will enjoy this book. For me, sometimes I can turn off the rational side of my brain and sometimes I can't. This book falls into the latter category.

I think I can just refer to my review of the previous book in the series for this one as they (the books) follow the same general outline.
Blake’s books are consistent and stick to a formula with small tweaks in each for shock and awe (more shock than awe).
This one started off with a bang showing how ruthless the antihero Luka was but then quickly got tiresome as we relived moments from the previous story with the kidnapping by the yakuza. It did redeem itself though and moved forward into the instalove possessive caveman noncon antics. This non-consent pushed my limits when it dealt with breeding and body autonomy, could be because of the current climate, but forced pregnancy is a hard no for me. But this is fiction and fantasy so it should in no way reflect anyone’s real views on the issues. You can dream of forced sex fantasies all you like but it never means you condone rape, our fantasies are our own business and I would never yuk someone else’s yum. However my face was stuck in cringe-mode when I read the breeding kink parts. .
This was a rip roaring tale with action and adventure. It is (maybe?) a stand-alone but I really think you need to have followed the series to really understand all the characters’ interconnectivity. Even then, I have read them and couldn’t recall which heroine was which and what female oriented career each of them had and which Russian mobster they were married to.
Anyway good ending to the series, but I can never rate these higher than a 3 ⭐️ because they are just not complex enough or deep enough and the characters are incredibly two-dimensional and after you read a few of these they completely lack originality. Yet still, I read them and enjoy and cringe and gasp and cringe some more.

Nobody writes fabulous Alpha men like Zoe Blake, and Luka is no exception, he is very dominant and possessive.
This brute of a man, just doing his job, is hired to rescue Katia and return her to Russia to be married to a influential Russian family. But as he gets to know her something clicks inside of him. The Neanderthal, possessive man coming to the forefront. And he cannot let her go.
Meanwhile, Katia is just a student, trying to follow a dream and become a famous photographer, when she is taken and held for nefarious reasons.
I was actually giggling while reading chapter 32!

The way Luka was described by his compatriots is nothing compared to the man under the facade. He is more than a mercenary and fixer. The side that Katie gets to experience is filled with soul searing romance and orgasm inducing dominance. I thought I wanted the beast but I found myself completely smitten with the man underneath.
And as with every book in this series, my favorite moments are when the men get together and rib on each other for their softening hearts and ways. And to see all of my favorite characters with their daughters is priceless.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, this is seriously my most favorite over the top, deliciously naughty series of all time. I love the characters. All of the characters in this series have stayed with me and this book is no different. I really enjoyed Katie and how independent she is and I absolutely loved Luka and how even though he decided to "keep her", he still supports her and her dreams. Sweet Ferocity is super fast paced with tons of action and contains cameos of all of our favorite overbearing Russians and their women from books past. Sweet Ferocity is definitely a keeper!

Hilarious in ways I don't think the author meant to but i enjoyed it anyway. This was somehow more ridiculous than the others in the series. The absurdity of it all got me laughing throughout.

This is not the case of a simple princess who ran away, this one had been kidnapped and now it was upto Lica to find her. What he didn't expect was to want to keep her too.
Overall Opinion :
I liked this one too! I have been crazily reading all the books of this author now and I must say I am a bit bored 😆
It's a rinse and repeat type and I am tired of reading about macho muscular mafia men who take what they want lol. At the same time I like the books and also the cameos we get to see!
Definitely recommending this one to all the mafia romance lovers. It was a good one time read for me and you guys might like it too.

Not my favorite of the series, but hits enough of the marks you’re here for to satisfy well enough. I appreciated the attempt at a plot™️, however, things at first felt disjointed, like they didn’t connect and were just scenes pushed together, and then things did ultimately come together, but ended up feeling repetitive. Particularly all the kidnapping. And the pushback of the FMC. She ended up pushing back so hard during the first half of the book that I ended up wanting so much more when she gave in. It went from “immediately no” to “immediately yes” and I wanted to see so much more of the deliciously tense middle!
The spice was good enough, though sometimes it didn’t totally reach the level of fire I was looking for. I think the main couple was lacking a little chemistry, which always makes the spice scene hotter, even if they’re already extra spicy.
I’ll still be devouring this series!

This one was kinda sweet! I enjoyed reading it. Luka and Katie's story was a nice addition to the series. It was less ruthless and more on the sweet side, especially compared to the previous books in the series. I think that we may have another addition and I can't wait!

Characters from the previous books of this series as well as characters from another series make an appearance in this book. Quite the crossover. The author basically concluded both these series together.

HMM. Well, I wanted to dive headfirst into the twisted mafia mind of Zoe Blake, so headfirst I jumped. And Sweet Ferocity certainly captivated me in places, and left me less enamoured in others.
Truth be told, some of my lukewarm feelings for this are a me issue. This is the final book in a series of purported interconnected standalones, but the first half of this book read like a cliff note’s summary- a lot of action happening quickly, many characters jumping in and out, and a lot of off page action being reported in and wrapped up in a sentence or two. From what I gather, these events happened in prior stories- with some plot overlap between them. And that’s always such a pickle for interconnected standalone writing- newer readers (like me) find it insufficient and series readers probably find it redundant, even though the foundation of these characters has to be articulated in some way. For the first half of the book, I felt like we just got a lot of incomplete/sparse action and very little character development or chemistry.
And then we get to the anticipated dubcon moments, and those also fell a bit, well, unsexy, for me. I love an over the top possessive anti-hero who has no issues dominating his woman, even if that means giving her no choice but to be with him. I love dark romance, but the early sex scenes lacked real heat and intensity- the edge was more painful than sexy. I mean I guess props for being realistic that it probably hurts for a virgin to be deflowered with such possessive brutality- but also it made me cringe a bit. Truthfully, I felt I was missing something, since I know so many others find these books addictive.
The back half, I would say, was much more appealing- after we got through the obligatory rehashing and you’re mine claiming and settled into Katie’s college life post kidnapping, that part of the story actually fascinated me. I’ve seen a mafia heiress be kidnapped and rescued 100x times at least, but seeing a regular old college student be “wooed” by a mafia assassin, well that seems a bit more original and a lot more fun. The sexy times still had a bit of cringe to it- but got a bit hotter as Katie got more into it, and one thing I did really appreciate is seeing bad-a Luka want to lift up and Katie and support her in pursuing her dreams- so long as she was shackled to him. A bit different spin. When the mafia action kicked back in, it was a bit less fun- again, felt done before and also characters from prior books that I should know but didn’t. But the interesting part of this story made it worth the read- and the chemistry certainly kicked in a way that helped me “get” the addiction to this series. I may read the others, not sure- but as far as tropes go, this series is pretty up my alley, so I wanted to really adore this- and found the parts I liked outweighed those that were lukewarm.

I don't even know how to explain it, but other than different characters with some differences on the exact way things happen.. the overall plot feels the same as the other I read from the series.
Even the Hs are not that distinguishable:
* all brutal (assassin, mafia leader, gun tradesman, etc)
* all like sexual control
* all will "spank" their women and "teach them their place"
* but as a whole will let them reach their life long goals, whether it's an artist, jeweler or a designer.
* get almost insta obsessed with their h
* girl gets kidnapped or runs - H saves/finds her
* wedding (well more often than not)
Whilst the heroines will mostly fight the attraction, then give in...or sometimes reverse maybe H will fight for a minute to "protect her" and then he is gonna realise that he put her in danger anyway.
Now, not saying anything is bad with those points individually.. they are certainly frequent things in romance, and I tend to like them. But, what just doesn't work for me is that I can't distinguish between books in the series.🤔

* writing style is engaging and very easy to read

Katie/Katia has sworn off men, particularly Russian men, after being abused and cast out by her own father, so even if she wants to fight the attraction towards Luka, is just impossible. He is very protective, and dominant and so delicious 🥵♥️
I loved their chemistry and that Katie had a backbone and even in the the worst situations she fought until the very end. They both wanted a family and found each other.

I’ve loved this series. It’s been my go to reread anytime I need OTT JP alphas who steamroll and who give spankings and get dirty with their h. This one was a good addition to the series but I’m sad it’s over.
The things:
-OTT JP, steamroller alpha H
-mafia princess, photography student, just tryna live her best life as normal h.
-Spanking …. I love when these guys grab their belts 🤤. We got a couple good spanking scenes.
-luka was aggressive and expected her to be obedient which she wasn’t always and I loved when he had to punish her 😆
-delicious little dub con face Fk scene 🤤🤤😋
-we see all the side characters which I really liked
-no condoms and he doesn’t let her do anything to prevent getting preg 😂
-care taking…. He bathed her, washes her hair, make sure she eats, make sure she’s safe
-V card h … and H find out the old fashion way… you to late to change it 😂 and I really love this scene honestly (this had a dub con vibe lol)
-clothes ripping … and throwing it off a balcony 🤣
-HEA/HFN… this is the end of the series but I didn’t feel like it was totally complete.

I have bought every book in this series and I’m sure it will continue to be a reread for me for a long time. I’ve loved these H and I’ll miss this world. I hope we get a second gen or something along these line again. I wished this story was a bit more and I wish the ending gave us an epilogue beyond their marriage… did they have kids? Did she love the jokes? Did she get her career? Did luka still do jobs? Like what is next?!? Lol maybe that’s the point idk we shall see.
