She ghosted her blind date because of a panic attack. He never forgot the way she felt in his arms.
When the firefighting single dad ends up her boss the rules say no. But the chemistry says yes, yes, oh, yes!

Avery
I was so far outside my comfort zone I was practically in outer space.
A blind date with an older man . . . the dad of a teenage son.
The hotter-than-the-sun firefighter from another district.

It was just one date.
Destined to go nowhere.
My mantra is relationships are better left to other people.

But boy did I get blindsided.

I don't know what I feel harder for . . .
The charming banter or -- the mountains of muscles under his black t-shirt.

Then, when he kissed me things things got seriously hot.
So freaking hot -- I ran.
Literally.

Into the bathroom because I couldn't breathe.
What a time to have a panic attack.

So imagine my dismay to be sitting across a desk from those smoldering green eyes one year later. Hired for a job in his county to help with an arson case.

Only Brock Mitchell isn't a captain now. He's the fire chief.
And I'm in seriously hot water.

Because even though our careers are on the line . . .
And my brother's enraged . . .

We can't seem to put out the flames.

How's a girl supposed to resist six-plus feet of chiseled, dominant, irresistible boss?
But the arsonist we are chasing is far more dangerous than I ever expected.

Chief Brock Mitchell was born to protect and defend, I just hope he makes it on time.

"Off-Limits & Irresistible" is a page-igniting small town, single dad, slight age gap romance with a daring hero that's willing to lay it all on the line to protect and win the woman he loves.
This happy-ever-after romance is full of heat and contains no cheating.

Thanks so much for checking out my bio. I'm Jenna Gunn, author of over 25 romance novels including multiple best selling titles.

My passion is writing thrilling action, high heat, suspense and rescuer romance books with fun and unexpected plot twists.

I love deep characters who overcome pain, mistrust, and damaged pasts to find their way alongside the mate of their dreams.

The men and women in my books have flaws, heart, fears and passion, just like we do—layers that make them slip into your heart.

All of my books are first person and include two Point of View. I mainly write MF contemporary romance, but have written MFM menage. It was super fun to write with three POVs.

Many books are in a series so you get to know the families, (5 brothers in the Archer Brothers Series, 5 brothers in The Eden Mountain Firefighters, and Teammates in the Agile Security and Rescue Series). All of the books are standalone and can be enjoyed that way too.

I've accomplished my dream as an author when my reader can drop into a book and forget the rest of the world.

This was a good read. Brock is the new fire chief. He had a date with Avery that ended badly. Now she works at the station. They end up having a thing together. Things are complicated with everything going on with his son. Thankfully everything works out and they get their happy ending.

I thought this romance was quite sweet. Brock has been hung up over Avery and is happy to see her at his workplace until it turns out she works for him. The chemistry between these two are sizzling, and they are absolutely adorable together. Add in some suspense and I found this story entertaining and fun to read.

Jenna Gunn books just keep getting better and better! I am madly in love with Brock! He causes swooning over and over. With his intense looks and possessive nature. His closed off heart that’s quickly ready to be wide open for one women, his new employee, Avery. He’s hotter than hot and relentless in his pursuit of time with Avery. Avery is equally fantastic. She has a rough past which has caused some panic attacks and distrust in men. She wants Brock with every fiber of her being but has to trust both him and herself.

These two originally met when they went on a blind date together that ended sooner than Brock would have liked. I didn’t expect the reason why Avery ghosted him and it broke my heart for her. When she is hired at his fire station and they begin investigating arson cases together there’s no way they can fight their feelings for each other. The steam between these two is HOT!! 10/10 on the steam in this book. There’s plenty of story included in the steam and each scorching encounter lasts for several chapters at a time. There’s a scene in the fire station shower that was incredibly hot.

Even better than the steam was the deep connection between Avery and Brock. They both have walls around their hearts but being together starts to bring those walls down. Even as forbidden as their relationship was, Brock was never going to let his career stand in the way of his HEA with Avery. He slowly builds her trust and earns her heart. The ending of this book was exceptional. I loved how it wrapped up the story line but gave a glimpse in what will come next for the supporting characters.

Jenna Gunn's new series about firefighters is off to a cracking start.
What more could go wrong ? his wife had left him to bring up their son on his own, his son is going off the rails, he had a serial arsonist to deal with, the Chief had had a stroke so he had to step up from Captain to Chief, a job that he didn't want and to top it all, the new firefighter who had just walked into the station was the same girl who had ghosted him on a blind date a year ago, the same girl that he dreamt about every night.....Brock Mitchel was incandescent with rage.
Avery Ellis's early life had been miserable, her only protection was her brother, she had become a firefighter and because she was good at solving arsonist cases she was deployed to help a station that had a problem, the same station where the Chief was the same man who had kissed her and sent her into the stratosphere, the same man who thought that she had ghosted him when in fact she was having a panic attack, Avery needed this job, she wanted a place where her brother could join her.
This story is about Avery and Brock working together, fighting against the chemistry and loosing badly, of Avery entering a relationship with a much older man, the father of a teenage son, of Brock knowing that a relationship could wreck both their careers, of Avery's brother coming back into her life and the need to catch an arsonist.
Jenna Gunn has created wonderful characters in this book and written a beautiful story round them.

A Deserved Love Like No Other -
Brock couldn’t believe the intense attraction he felt for Avery, even though she run away from their date a year earlier and ghosted him. He found it difficult to keep his hands to himself anytime she was close by, even if it was against policy for him to fraternise with a subordinate. They tried to maintain a platonic relationship, but their relationship changed after the decision Brock made following a conflict with his son, which brought back painful memories from Avery’s past.

Brock decided to make his superiors aware of their relationship so they no longer had to sneak around, but his decision resulted in a change in their professional lives. However, Brock’s action to reveal their secret, also brought him closer to his son and this made all their lives better. Unfortunately, Avery’s brother was unhappy with their relationship when he came back into her life, but he subsequently accepted it after Avery’s near fatal incident. This allowed Brock and Avery to get back on track towards their happily ever after.

This was a really enjoyable story to read. I loved the intense need between these two, where anytime they were together, I could feel the heat coming through the pages. I'll admit I shed a few tears whenI was reading about what Avery went through, but description of their steamy encounters surely made up for it. I was glued to the pages from and beginning and didn’t take a break until I reached the end. This is a definite must read book.

This was a second chance single Dad firefighter romance.

I loved the small town setting with romantic suspense elements in this story. The characters were relatable and the story was believable.

Avery Ellis is a new hire at the Lynn's Cove Fire Department. She worked a few arson cases at her old department but did not like the notoriety in the larger city. She went on a date with Brock a year ago but had a panic attack when he kissed her so she ghosted him.

Brock Mitchell reluctantly accepts the Fire Chief position after the existing chief has a stroke. He is divorced and has his hands full with his 15 year old son who is getting into trouble at school but refused to talk to his Dad about his problems.

A year after their date, Avery shows up as the new firefighter in his fire station. He has never forgotten her and gives in to his attraction kissing her which triggers another panic attack. He requires her to get physical and psychological exams before he will put her on active duty. He does let her work with him on the series of arson cases plaguing the town. They end up starting a relationship on the down low. Brock proactively goes to the mayor to let him know about their relationship and ends up quitting. She moved into one of his apartments with her brother who was just released from jail. Turns out her brother and Brock were rivals in the fire academy which causes issues for them. The arsonist targets Avery but gets caught. They get married and have their HEA.

If you read Jenna Gunn's Eden Mountain Firefighters or Archer Brother's series, hang on as she takes you back to Lynn's Cove for a brand new firefighter series.

Off-Limits and Irresistible introduces you to the Lynn's Cove Fire Department. Brock Mitchell is forced into the position of temporary Chief right in the middle of a spat of arsons in this idyllic tourist town.

Single dad, former Marine, all-around alpha hero, Brock, also has newly hired Avery Ellis dropped into his firehouse to help catch the arsonist.

He doesn't have a problem with the fact that she is a woman, a beautiful one at that. He doesn't have a problem with the fact that she claims she isn't an expert, she just caught two lucky breaks solving cases previously. Brock's problem is that she just so happens to be the woman he went on one date with a year ago. A fantastic date, until she ghosted him.

Thrown together again, these two blaze hotter than the arsonist's fires. Of course, fraternization is frowned upon, so they have to be careful. There are twists and turns and added complications from other family members on both sides.

I loved this introduction to the Lynn's Cove Fire Department. I look forward to additional books. Give us Gunnar! Give us Reeves!.

Off-Limits & Irresistible is Jenna Gunn's new series about firefighters and lets just say it's smoking hot like a five alarm blaze.

Brock Mitchell is a firefighter at Lynn’s Cove Fire Department and was just promoted to Chief when the old chief left due to medical issues. It's not what he was expecting plus he's a single dad to a fifteen-year-old boy who has been getting in trouble how much more can he take? He's about to find out because Avery Ellis the woman who he thinks ghosted him during their one and only date a year ago is his new hire.
Avery has a complicated past which has her skittish which caused her to have a panic attack and flee to the bathroom on the only date with Brock. Now a year later she is starting her new job only to come face to face with him.
There story is told in both POV's and has suspense, danger, teen strife, arson galore and steamy chemistry.
While there wasn't a lot to do with the the fire department or investigating in the overall storyline yet it was still a worthwhile read.

I received an ARC through Booksprout an I'm voluntarily leaving my review.

Firefighters Brock and Avery have a chemistry hot enough to start a four alarm fire! Brock is a big, grumbly bear of a man who now just happens to be her boss. Avery is a firefighter who has a knack for investigating arson cases. She is ready for a new start, in a new town and had no idea that her date from a year ago, the guy she ghosted, would be her boss. The blind date a year ago left them both wondering what the heck happened and unable to forget each other. Now they have to work together and their attraction to each other is more intense then it was then. Of course they now work together, he’s her boss, and they have to keep their hands to themselves. Yeah, that’s not happening at all. They do try to be discreet, but as they investigate a series of arsons, Brock turns into Avery’s over-the-top protector. Can he keep her safe? What happens when their close relationship is revealed? Can they build a future together? You will need to read this very hot, sexy book to discover the answers. Keep a glass of ice water handy!.

Brock is a handsome and well-built firefighter, liked by all his teammates. But his life just got more complicated by being named fire chief when his boss has a stroke. He hates the politics involved. And then he finds that his boss hired the young lady who ghosted him last year on a blind date after he kissed her. He thinks of her every night! Avery is an expert at solving arson cases and they have some to solve. He also has problems as a single dad with his 15-year-old son, Linc, who has gotten into so much trouble lately, he is contemplating sending him to a boarding school. You can guess that the rules against fraternization are soon broken by Brock, but that is only the beginning of this really good read. Things get more complicated on every front: he beds Avery while putting her on restrictive duty, more fires caused by arson occur, his son is arrested in a city an hour away in the middle of the night, and he finds out from Avery that Linc has a girlfriend, which Brock was clueless about. It does not take our hero long to make big changes to get on top of all these problems. You'll love reading this book which I highly recommend!

Cute read

Avery and Brock were a cute couple. 10 year age gap, they met for a date and it lead nowhere, Avery ran out on him. A year later, he becomes her boss.

I felt the reason for Avery running out on their date was understandable but felt like it wasn’t portrayed maybe as well, I couldn’t really understand how she would say it was only Brock that triggered her, I got the reason for the trigger but I didn’t feel like it should have been ‘blamed’ on him alone. More the circumstances she found herself in with him and her trauma.
I thought Brock was understanding without being a pushover, he didn’t let the working relationship stop something he thought was important and didn’t want to ‘hide them’ which I liked.

It was a good read, felt the ‘arson’ sideline story wasn’t as well plotted, focus could have just stayed on their relationship and it would have maybe worked better. Felt like the ‘arson’ was supposed to be the main plot, hence, Avery coming to help but then it got sidelined plot wise and fell a little flat.

Overall I enjoyed the book though. Can’t really go wrong with a fireman book!

Captain Brock Mitchell is meeting Avery Ellis for a second time. Their first meeting, a blind date, was a disaster. He believes she ghosted him, but in reality, she suffered a panic attack and ran. She has accepted a job at the fire station, as an arson inspector, and her new boss is…you guessed it, Brock. Brock is the interim Chief while his boss recovers from a stroke. He doesn’t want to be in charge, he wants to be in the “field”, fighting fires and saving lives. He also wants to be with Avery; she affects him as no other woman ever has. She is extremely attracted to him, his maleness and his confidence, but she must keep her priorities in order. She needs to make a home for her brother, not be lusting after her boss. Brock is also dealing with family issues as his teenage son is so like him when he was that age. Karma! A sensuous love story, but can they work out their personal and work issues to be together? What an amazing story! This book should come with a warning as it is hot! Brock has been promoted to fire chief. He can’t believe his luck when his new employee turns out to be Avery, the woman that ghosted him on a date the year before. The chemistry between Avery and Brock is just electric, however rules at work forbid any type of relationship, but it isn’t long before they are giving into their desires. Brock is falling fast for Avery, however he has his hands full with his new position at work, a troubled teenage son, an arsonist in town and hiding his relationship with Avery, however it isn’t long before he realises what his priorities are. A fantastic book, I absolutely loved these characters and you could really feel the connection between them. An amazing storyline with lots of drama that will keep you hooked from the start. I really hope there are more books in this series! Loved it!.

Jenna Gunn’s new series about firefighters starts out with as much heat as a four alarm fire! The cast of characters is wonderful and adds depth to the story. There is so much to like about this book! It has romance, mystery, suspense, and emotional challenges facing several characters.

Brock is a man with so many facets. He is a former Marine, now a firefighter who’s suddenly appointed as fire chief. He’s raising a troubled teenage son by himself and still reeling from having been ghosted by an amazing blind date a year ago. If that isn’t enough drama, Avery, the woman he can’t forget, is the newest hire and a relationship would put both of their jobs at risk. Add in their intense attraction to each other, school bullies, a creepy arsonist, Avery’s difficulty dealing with her past trauma, friction with Avery’s brother, and you have a story that’s a real page-turner!.

What started as a blind date a year ago with Avery having a panic attack and fleeing will now become a love story of all time. A year after that run out Avery has moved to Lynn's Cove and is working for the fire department on arson cases. When she arrives she finds the new Chief... Brock Mitchell her blind date that she has never forgotten. They set each other off in so much chemistry that they could start fires of their own. These two will have to fight through not being found out to an arsonist who is out to burn down businesses. Brock not only has to deal with his smoldering flame for Avery, but his rebelious son Linc. Can he survive all this without everything going up in flames. Amazing.. I laughed, cried and jumped for joy for Brock and Avery. Now crossing my fingers Avery's brother Gunner gets a book.. Cut that will be amazing.

Brock and Avery's story was so good! It captured my attention right from the start and didn't let me go until the final page. This book was full of scorching hot heat, intrigue and all the feels.

Avery's backstory was heartbreaking and I felt every bit of it. To be so strong and resilient at such a young age takes a lot. I enjoyed how Jenna slowly unrolled it. Brock, along with being a super sexy fireman, hasn't had the smoothest past either. Being a single parent to a teenage boy who is going through something tough, a lot of people can relate. Whether you are that single parent or were that child being raised by one, you feel it all.

The love that these characters share and the chemistry that sizzles and flys off the pages is incredible. There is no mistaking that these two belong together. Jenn did an amazing job giving them the story and HEA they deserved. If you like smokin' hot, strong and a bit possessive male lead, then this is definitely a book you will enjoy

Brock is the acting fire chief, silver haired, big, muscular, take charge type with more responsibilities then he wants. Avery is new to the fire station hired because of her expertise in arson cases. She is petite, intelligent, prone to panic attacks, good with people. She is strong and determined. The problem starts on day one. Avery sees that she will be working for Brock at the fire station. Avery and Brock have a history. All because of a kiss ! The story has some really good characters who are determined, strong, dynamic and a little crazy at times. The secondary characters add to the storyline bringing trouble uncertainty and emotional upheaval. All the characters will work their way into your heart. The story brings the sizzle and the steam. But also shows the intimate, sweet, loving romance.

New author for me and I’ll be reading more from her. The two main characters were great. Brock was swoon worthy and I loved his out in front honesty which carried a lot of heat. I took off a star bec of questions and the rushed ending: 1) timeline around Avery, the boarding school, how old was she when she finally told her brother about the boarding school. 2) was Avery raped? I know she was bullied, kissed without permission, but raped? Idk. 3) was it for years? The one year? Idk. 4) I kinda can piece together Brocks timeline and think when he was going through the Fire academy he was older then Gunner due to having been in the service prior, but am I right? Idk. Finally the ending. It was rushed enough that they have to have a meeting with all the characters in the book to tie up the storylines by having them ‘review’ who/ why regarding the arsonist which also answered other questions reg another character.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

This was a wonderful story about Fire Chief, Brock who had history with new arson specialist recruit, Avery but the attraction is still there.
There were many layers to this story and they were all intricately woven so well. Full of action, drama, danger, suspense and mystery set in a romantic theme. Certainly not without the steam.
I really enjoyed the dynamic that Avery and Brock were involved in along with the extra important characters that made the book evolve. Characters like Linc and Belle, Reeves and the other firefighters and her brother Gunner. I also liked the involvement of his story with Elena and Reeves with the auditor, which both stories could lead to another book.
Jenna Gunn certainly knows her stuff and writes well and uplifting books. Fantastic book!!.

I really enjoyed reading, Off Limits & Irresistible: A Single Dad Firefighter Romance by Jenna Gunn because it was a very steamy story about Avery and Brock. They had instantaneous chemistry, but there was one problem, Brock was Avery's superior. This story was very steamy and spicy and such a great read. Loved the chemistry between the two characters. Avery's character had gone through something in her past that caused issues for her in the present. She could relate to Brock's son. Brock's character was very alpha and wanted to take care of Avery even if it meant he was to lose his job. There was definitely some drama that was laced in this story. It caused me to be on the edge of my seat reading it. I would highly recommend reading this story.

This book takes place in Lynn's Cove a tourist resort and is the start of a brand-new series.

We are introduced to Lynn's Cove Fire Department, where Brock Mitchell is the temporary Chief. He's a former Marine and a single father, he and Avery met a year ago when they shared one amazing date, one he would have liked to repeat but she ghosted him. Now she's in his firehouse to try and help catch an arsonist who is causing havoc in this idyllic tourist spot.

As they work together, the palpable chemistry between them sizzles, and it's hard to decide which is hotter, their chemistry or the fires lit by arsonist. But they need to be careful because fraternisation in the workplace is a definite no, no! I loved the twists and turns their story takes. Will they find lasting happiness or will the flames burning between them fizzle out?

I so hope that Off-Limits & Irresistible is the start of a new series from Jenna Gunn. We are drawn into the story of Brock and Avery from the start. The sparks between them are as high as in the fires that have to be extinguished. The chemistry and attraction is palpable, but the beginning of their relationship is not without a struggle due to the fact that Avery still struggles with traumas from the past, not to mention that Brock is her superior and it is actually a rule that you don't start anything with an employee of yours. But fate decides otherwise. I enjoyed this story and the way Ms Gunn has written it keeps your attention on the story and allows you to completely immerse yourself in it. This book is highly recommended and a good start to what I hope will be a new series from her.

Jenna Gunn did it again, another story I loved reading. This story is about Chief Brock Mitchell, single dad with a son named Lincoln/Linc and Avery Ellis who once blind dated Brock and then ghosted him. Brock been assigned as the new acting Chief of Lynn's Cove fire Department due to the previous Chief being in the hospital. Avery is the newly hired firefighter whose job is to investigate and capture the culprit who has been setting fires in the area. Brock highly attracted Avery discovers she has panic attacks and benches her. What occurs in this highly charged romantic, action filled story with engaging characters was a delightful read. I received this copy and I volunteer to read and review.

I absolutely loved reading this book.
Brock is a former Seal and now a firefighter Chief in Lynn Cove but what he wasn't expecting was the woman he has been thinking about for a year to be sat in front of him as the new hire at the station.
Avery is starting a new job in Lynn Cove and didn't know that her new boss is her blind date from a year ago and she hasn't forgotten him.
The chemistry is still there between them but they could lose their jobs if they act on it.
Throw in an arsonist, a teenage boy having a hard time and a brother that isn't happy about her choice of boyfriend and nothing goes easy for them.
Absolutely loved the ending.

Brock and Avery met a year ago on a blind date. After a steamy kiss, Avery excused herself to the bathroom and had a panic attack. Brock didn't know Avery had a panic attack. He didn't see her until a year later and didn't stop thinking about her. Brock was recently named as fire chief. Avery was hired by the fire department and Brock was her new boss. There was a no fraternization rule so a relationship between them was forbidden. Do you think they will connect again with another sizzling kiss? If so will Avery have another panic attack? What about the no fraternization rule? Read this book to find out.

Avery ghosted Brock on their blind date, because she was too attracted to him. Then she gets to her new job as a firefighter and finds out Brock is her boss, the chief. Brock is filling in the fire chief position, raising a teen alone, and now he has to deal with his attraction to the new hire. Avery has her issues and secrets that might hinder her job. Brock is protective of Avery when he finds out her secrets. These two are charged with chemistry when they are together. There is also the mystery of the arson around town. The story is packed with action and hot romance. I highly recommend it.

Fantastic page turner...
This had me holding my breath, my heart raced & I got a slight tension headache. A compelling story, the hero is a former marine now a fire chief, a single dad of a troubled son & the heroine is a smart as a whip case solver who had a panic attack when on a date with the then firefighter when he kissed her. She ghosted him. They reconnect when she's appointed to assist him in finding an arsonist. She has a second attack when he kisses her again but he talks her throught it. Can they be professional & find the arsonist. Another gem from Jenna, highly recommended. I received an arc & this is my honest & voluntary review.
