Emerson I’ve made it. I have the best job and am buying my first house at 25. I didn’t account for my house being a little more work than I can handle. That’s okay; I’m independent and can figure out anything thrown my way. Except maybe the neighbor across the street. Hunter. One look at him has me thinking that perhaps my life isn’t complete just yet. Hunter I keep to myself for a reason. Two years ago, I was discharged from the Army Night Stalkers with more baggage than I could handle, so I shut myself away from all human connection. Until she moves in across the street. Emerson. I feel a pull I can’t run away from, but I can’t offer her something I don’t have to give. When suspicious things start happening at Emerson’s house, I’ll do everything in my power to keep her safe, even if it costs me what little I have left of my soul in the process.

Emerson buys a house for a DIY renovation project but her hot neighbour Hunter proves to be a distraction she didn’t bargain on. He’s an ex Night Stalker with a penchant for wearing basketball shorts and not much else, and as Emerson soon discovers, he’s in need of some TLC for his PTSD. The relationship between the two is fast moving but sweet and sexy too. They seemed like a good match. I loved Emerson’s determination to fix up her house despite her family’s misgivings.

I received an arc copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This hurt/comfort read was everything I wanted it to be. Following Hunter and Emerson as they navigate their relationship while Hunter is recovering/experiencing ptsd makes this book not only a short sweet steamy read but you also get a good plot with good character development. Thank you to the author for giving me an arc copy of this book.

After reading and absolutely loving the first two books from A Catalyst Series along with the prequel The Beginning, I wanted to read something more from this author until the release of the next in that series.. So I grabbed this book on Kindle the other day and finished reading it in less than 24 hours! And liked this one too!

It's a simple, super sweet and steamy short read where Emerson, a hardworking and independent woman, having bought her first own house at 25, moves in across the street from Hunter, an ex-army Night Stalker, living a lonesome and closed-up life, dealing with his PTSD for over 2 years all alone with no help..

Until, of course, a certain beautiful neighbor wearing a white sundress shows up on his front door with a jar of chocolate chip cookies!💕

Like her other books, I found this one to be very lovable and connecting too! It's a decent plot, with good character arcs, fast paced love story, with some very steamy romance and "I'm coming to save you" types drama!

What to expect?
•Grumpy x sunshine
•Independent FMC fixing up her new home
•Veteran MMC struggling with PTSD
•Spicy novella
•Importance of communication
•Touch of suspense
•Dual POV

Thank you to the author for providing me an arc! I enjoyed the story in the sense that i love a HEA and some spice, but overall it was just too short, the plot moved a bit too quickly, and the fact that they kept calling each other by their names felt a bit robotic to me. Definitely an enjoyable and quick read, but could have been fleshed out more.
