When young Bentlee August is charged with the assault of his own girlfriend, Trinity Carson, the boy's grandmother turns to Dan and Red for help. She swears her grandson is a good boy, and wouldn't do such a thing. “That's what they all say,” Dan says, but decides to take the case anyway.
Maybe Bentlee isn't the good boy his family thinks he is. Maybe Trinity has a few things to hide. But when the mounting list of clues, suspects, and lies lead to Maxine's abduction, Dan ad Red team up with an unlikely ally—Officer Jackson Barbosa.
This Dan Coast was the best so far and I hope I am mistaken in believing that this is the last Dan Coast in this series. I love the irreverence of Dan and Red as counterpointed by the kindness and commitment to doing good by Maxine and Bev. Skip Stoner and his femmes add another bit of flavor to these quirky stories. Please Rodney Riesal let your creative mind conjure up more Dan Coast adventures for those of us whose Key Westy memories will live on in Dan Coasts adventures !
A really enjoyable book. As always Dan and Reds antics kept me giggling throughout this book. And each previous book. But the ending made me laugh out loud. It is easy to figure out I highly enjoy this series of books and always can't wait for the next one. 5 stars. Do youself a favor and read the entire series. You won't regret it.
Actually, Rodney Riesel is the most! I so enjoy these characters. They are hilarious, while solving the crimes they're semi-hired to. I originally chose this series because it's set in Key Weird. Now, I just read because it's so fun.
A quick read and lots of twists in the action looking forward to the next one .Red and Dan always seem at odds but come thru in the end ciao from Costa rica....
Dan can be such a jerk but I love Red and Maxine. Skip is pretty cool too. Every book I read that holds my interest gets a five star. Really like this guy's stories.
