YVETTE
Of all the muscular purple warriors, I get stuck with the grumpy one.
Stuck in the cliffside lodge for months, I’m going stir-crazy while all the other women get to explore with their mates. Even Judy has her biker beau. I need to get out of here, so I ask Bre’k to take me foraging. I’m not surprised when, yet again, he says no.

At the clubhouse, after a freak storm cut the power to our lodge, one of the men offers to take me foraging. All of a sudden, Mr. Grumpy decides he wants to take me out after all!

What kind of I-don’t-want-you-but-he-can’t-have-you-either bullcrap is this? I don't think so, Grumpy. But, to stop a fistfight from breaking out in Gabby’s kitchen, I agree—for one trip. Too bad the mate bond has other ideas.

BRE’K
She’s the sunshine that brightens our ledge.

Yvette was terrified of all hunters when she first arrived on the ledge. Not wanting to scare her, I learned to limit myself to human noises. No growling, no snarling, and absolutely no purring.

Desperate to keep her safe, I offer to look for the items she needs instead of taking her out foraging. I didn’t expect another male to offer to take her instead!

After shutting him down, the goal is simple: get her items, then get her back in one piece. Too bad my purring chest, mouthy shuttle, and a badly-timed mate bond decide to complicate things.

This is a sweet and steamy alien romance complete with a troublemaking chicken, a sentient shuttle, and a happily-ever-after guaranteed.

Such an awesome alien romance series!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 🖤💙💜❤️💚
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏🌍
Character development: 🙂🥰😎😄😉

The heroine: Yvette - she was one of the women that lived in the Raiders camp and when May and a few of the other women wanted to steal a Xarc’n shuttle from the Raiders and escape from the camp, which was more of a prison, Yvette helped them by starting a fire which was used as a distraction. Since everyone was freed from the raiders, Yvette now lives at the Ledge, which is a lodge style mansion on the Ledge of the mountain. Though compared to some of the other women, Yvette feels like she doesn’t have a purpose and is not very good at anything.

The Hero: Bre’k - he is a Xarc’n warrior who is assigned to the mountain, since the Bugpocalypse began Bre’k has been kind of a loner working on his own fighting the bugs on the mountain. He knew that Yvette was his mate as soon as he first saw her, but he sensed how afraid she was of the alien men, so he kept quiet about it. He also tried to sound as human as possible, not growling or purring, since that seemed to scare her quite a bit.

The Story: Yvette was no longer afraid of the Xarc’n warriors and since Bre’k was one of the only unmated hunters, she had tried to see if she could be his mate, but he seemed grumpy and there was no trace of the purring that the aliens usually did when they were around their mates. Plus, he often seemed grumpy, so she thought he didn’t like the fact that he was stuck guarding the lodge because she was there. Though one day he touches her and can no longer hide his purring, then he can’t let her go, which is a sure sign that she is his mate.

I have loved most of the books in the original series as well as in this spinoff. The plots are great and there is always a ton of action and of course bug fighting. I have been reading one or two then taking a long break and then reading more. Every time I read one, I find myself loving all the action and the world building. I find myself remembering why I love this series so much. This one is no different. I love the fact that Yvette wants to pull her weight and learn to live in this new world. She wants to learn to forage and to fight like many of the other humans and she becomes such a strong character.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book just like I have with all the other stories in this series. In this book Yvette is the only unmated female in the lodge. She is often left alone with Aaron and the second last single hunter Bre’k. He has learned how to turn off his sounds when he is around humans, especially if it because she was so scared when she first came to the mountain. Imagine the surprise when they are out for the first time in they become stuck. There’s a lot that they have to work through because Yvette always thought that he couldn’t stand her but now she realises that he has liked her all along. This is their story and their romance for us to enjoy.

Muscled, purple, hot, alien protector with horns and special eggplant - please! Bre'k (H) is a Xarc'n hunter who's working with the humans at the mountain encampment to battle the bug scourge. He's a bit grumpy towards Yvette (h), causing her to think he doesn’t like her. Their relationship takes a turn when they’re out foraging and their bond forms, trapping her in his arms. Bre’k and Yvette have to get to know one another, with things taking a decidedly hot, steamy, and intense turn. Lots of action and adventure as they work together and Bre’k learns just how capable Yvette is. Fun to see characters from past books/series. The books in the Xarc'n Warriors: Mountains series should be read in order - you'll get a better feel for the overall storyline and characters, and ideally read it after the original Xarc'n series.

This was another exciting chapter in the bugpocalypse world of the Xarc'n warriors and the survivors of Earth. I loved Bre'k and Yvette but also Pip, his ship's AI, and Henrietta the chicken. That right there should let you know it's a fun reading ride ;P Together, this group made an awesome team, once they got through their assumptions and miscommunications...and wandering ways. Lol! I loved the 'inconvenience' of their mate bond. Their cleverness really helped everyone out and kept the bugs mostly at bay. I highly recommend this book and the entire series for a great reading adventure :D

YES! The next hunter and his lady are up and Bre'k has been working hard to keep his instincts on lock down so he doesn't scare Yvette away. As it turns out, there's one certain warrior she really doesn't have an issue with. She just thought he wasn't interested since he never purred or growled or did any of the other mate-potential things the other warriors do.

Joke's on Yvette because Bre'k is REALLY into her. He's just super good at hiding it. You know, until jealousy gets the better of him and he goes all growly when a human offers to take her out foraging. Soon they're stuck together with a mate bond, going on dates, and getting to know one another in the best ways.

While these two are navigating their new bond, they're also checking for damage after a recent earthquake/landslide that has slightly compromised the lodge. This leads to a little buggy danger, a little human danger, and a little insight into a VERY chatty shuttle.

Things are changing (mostly for the better) for the survivors of the bugpocalypse and I am HERE for it!

The newest book in a series fits perfectly into the struggle of Xarc'n Warriors and humans in the fight against the bugpocalypse. This time, the main characters are no strangers to each other. Bre'k, after traumatic events in the past, not wanting to frighten Yvette, learned to suppress all his traits typical of his race. Although he liked the woman, he tried to avoid any closer contact with her. Yvette, on the other hand, after overcoming her initial fear of the warriors, found Bre'k's behavior gruff and grumpy. The mate bond between them came as a complete surprise.
I liked that Yvette is not kickass heroine or damsel in distress. Even though she was scared of her own shadow at the beginning of the bugapocallypse, she finally decided to change her behavior. Her character develops very nicely throughout the book. Although she is not physically strong or super brave, it turns out that she has an equally important asset such as intellect and planning.
Bre’k is an example of a typical alpha male with dominant personality traits. However, thanks to Yvette, she learns that being partners has better results. Luckily, Bre’k doesn't turn into marshmallow and continues to show his dominant side in the love scenes.
I also liked the fact that the mate bond did not turn into insta-love right away. Of course, there was attraction and lust between them. However, while Bre'k was convinced that mate bond was never wrong, Yvette was not entirely convinced of it.
This time the author has prepared a nice surprise for the reader by introducing a third character with a huge ego. I am talking about Pip, who sometimes adds humor to the story by making Bre'k embarrassed, and sometimes helps the two main characters.
As always, the book has a lot of action, which makes it interesting to read. Although each book is about a different couple, for a better understanding of the main plot that unfolds throughout the series and the emerging side characters, I strongly encourage you to read the books in order.
Although the entire series is based mainly on thep relationship between human women and Xarc'n Warriors, I hope the author will soon introduce us to Aaron's fate as well. In my opinion, our poor Tech Wizard, who helps so much against the bugpocalypse, deserves to find his soul mate and HEA. It could be a women or a male (I don't judge- love is love ❤️).

Do you remember Kindergarten? Where all the five year old boys pretended the girls had cooties, but secretly liked them? Well, funny how things stay the same when you grow up! This is kind of a similar dynamic to the grumpy Xarc’n Warrior Bre’k and his fated human mate Yvette. He’s used to minimizing his growls, purrrs and other sounds. After a group of human women were rescued from a militant group, they were intensely scared of those Xarc’n noises - no matter that they knew they were safe.

Yvette is one of that group of rescued women. The women had been mistreated and traumatized in the group, so it took a while for them to acclimate to the Xarc’n Warrior- human group dynamics. Yvette is a hard worker, trying to do everything she can to help support their group. She hasn’t been blind to the muscled Xarc’n Warrior she has nicknamed Grumpy aka Bre’k. She tends to have day dreams of him off and on. But she’s convinced Bre’k hates her as he leaves her presence as soon as she comes near.

Little does Yvette know that Bre’k has developed a crush on her as well. But it is all he can do to try and not purr or vocalize when she is around. So he quickly leaves to avoid showing his interest and possibly freaking her out.

Meanwhile, they dance around each other in several “interesting” situations. Have a weird chicken as a pet named Henrietta; whose best friend is a cat named Reese’s Pieces and they all love being in the possibly sentient shuttle named Pip. What’s not to love! When Yvette and Bre’k realize that they really like each other - sparks fly, and they end up in a happily ever after. There are a TON of things that happen, but I can’t let you know as it’d spoil the story.

At its core, this is simply a story about a boy (who happens to be a massive alien Xarc’n Warrior) who loves a girl (a curvy red-headed human woman), have great steamy chemistry and how they survive in the weird world of the Bug-pocalypse. Definitely, definitely recommend!.

Before the scourge and the hunters came, Yvette thought she was happily married. Then the scourge can and she felt paralyzed by fear. Her husband took her with him to a survivor group and then left her. Yvette had been held captive by a group of rogue survivors but later found herself free due to her own and other women's efforts. She found a home in the lodge on the ledge but being around the alien hunters scared her at first. Staying in the lodge with a couple of hunters and their human woman mates, has her wishing for an alien mate of her own. She is tired of hiding in fear and wants to prove her worth. She decides she needs to go out foraging for winter clothes and other things. Every one says that she should ask the single Hunter Bre'k to take her but he shows no interest in helping. He even discourages Yvette from leaving but Yvette is determined and asks a human group to take her out foraging. Then suddenly Bre'k changes his mind and agrees to take her. The trip starts off successful but in a close call with the scourge, Yvette finds herself touching Bre'k. When Bre'k can't let her go, she is surprised to find out they really are mates.

Bre'k knew at first sight that Yvette was meant to be his. However she is so frightened by the alien hunters, he is determined to not scare her any more. He represses all the alien and animal like sounds hunters usually make near their mate. Bre'k is determined to protect her which is why he stays near the lodge to protect her. When Yvette asks him to take her foraging, he is horrified by the thought of her in danger. He wants her to stay in the safe lodge. Then he hears that she has asked some human males to take her out and he gives in. No one can protect her better than him.

I really enjoyed this one. It was so easy to dive in and lose myself. To the point I was annoyed when my family pulled me back into reality. I liked the story line a lot. Especially, how it felt vast in terms of everything that was happening and all the others coming in and out, but it also felt so contained. There was such a good focus on these two and their relationship. I love these two, they made me so happy, and I will definitely be coming back to enjoy their adventures again and again.

I love Yvette. She may not think she is but she is brave and so competent. And definitely a huge key to the group's success. No one else was working on storing up food. Plus, I love how she isn't willing to settle, she wants to do more and is always trying to learn and do more. She's so organized and on top of things. And she's up to try pretty much anything. I love her thirst for knowledge about life now for the different survival groups and the hunter's history/culture.

I love Bre'k. He is an odd mix of easy going and uptight. He's trying so hard to be considerate of Yvette. And is fast to admit when he is going about things the wrong way and either course correct or discuss his reasoning. I love how well he and Yvette fit together and play off each other.

I love Pip and Henrietta. They are such great additions. Pip is a great sentient shuttle. Smart and playful and helpful, but not obnoxious and always up in your business.

Lastly, I love the little cameos from the other hunters and survivors. They moved the plot and dropped nuggets of wisdom without being intrusive.

I know I said it before, but I really enjoyed this book and the characters. I definitely feel a book hangover coming on.

In book 5... we are back to the mountain group.. living on the ledge. This time around, we have Yvette & Bre'k.

Yvette = very timid, has a low self esteem, and wary of the purple warriors BUT cant help but be intrigued by them. Before the bugpocolypse... she was married to a not so friendly man and right after, he abandoned her and she was held captive by rogue captors before being freed.

Bre'k = a gruff, grumpy, dominant warrior on the ledge. Is attracted to & wants to protect Yvette but doesn't want to scare her off, so he remains quiet. When the opportunity to "chaperone" Yvette on foraging trip, he doesnt hesitate and wont let another warrior to intervene.

****SPOILERS****

Bre'k and Yvette's Story

Yvette is very timid and wary of the hunters due to how large they are physically and their guttural native language. She has very low self-esteem due to the abuses of her previous marriage and initially does not feel useful to anyone. However, Yvette is fascinated by others on an anthropological level and later finds her voice when half of the mountain slides down on itself and she is able to assist with information that she has gathered through the forum.

While physically powerful and genetically designed to be a skilled fighter, that is the strength Bre'k brings to this table of survivors. He doesn't spend his time gathering information from others, just honing his skills to protect others. Then he discovers Yvette is his Mate Bond. When the Xarc'n Warriors discover their mates, whether those individuals want to be mates or not, they turn all their focus to the care of their mate and that relationship in a very sweet, naïve, and raw way. Built like walls they are definitely gooey and sentimental on the inside.

Some really fun side characters end up being Henrietta the Chicken and Pip, Bre'k's shuttle's AI. PIP is very intelligent and networks with the other shuttles to get them all online and recover any Missing hunters. PIP is really almost sentient and I do hope that Ms. Lee finds a way to keep her in the future books.

This book was amazing and I devoured it in one sitting but was sad that I read it so fast. Yvette is a human that was saved by Xarc’n warriors and there human mates and is now staying at the Cliffside Lodge and sometimes stays at the Club house but at the Lodge she has a Xarc’n warrior watching over Aaron and herself and although she thinks he is sexy and scary and she can’t help but wonder why she is so attracted to him when she knows no signs to be interested in her or show signs that they could be more. Bre’kis an Xarc’n warrior who is looking for his mate and believes Yvette is the one and every time he is around her he suppresses his nature so as not to scare her off anymore than already and now she asks him to take her to forage for her supplies but he tells me no which angers her but he will take her to the clubhouse where he knows it’s safe and she will be protected. When Yvette asks another male to take her out Bre’k goes off ane agrees to do it because she is safer with him and because he will have her alone and hopes it will trigger their bond. How does it all work out between Yvette and himself and do they form the bond as mates or not and can Bre’k keep Yvette and Aaron safe from the scrounge that’s at the lodge. There is heaps more to this book and all the others in the series and are definitely must read. Loved it.

This story continues the bugpocolyse with Bre'k and Yvette. They are part of the group on the ledge. Bre'k struggles to not growl or purr as those sounds scared Yvette when they were first around each other. Those also are the signs of interest and finding his mate. She calls him Grumpy. He tries to keep his distance until Yvette wants to go foraging, he declines and another human offers to take her. Then he steps in and surprise, the mate bond kicks in. As always, it doesn't occur at an opportune time. As his hands are locked, he teaches her to shoot so she can help protect herself.
Our author is amazing in the development of her characters and locations. With danger, bad humans, bugs, plot twists, the mate bond and Pip, this story unfolds smoothly and is a fast read. It gave my imagination a nice treat to drop into this world again. The scene in the kitchen where Bre'k started purring and the other Xarc'n warriors can't help but purr for their mates too. Thank you Lynnea for a slow burn HEA with no cliffhanger. I always enjoy your stories and especially when you revisit characters from previous stories. The story continues the bugpocolyse so it's best to read the series in order.

One of my favorite series!!

I have read all of the Xarc’n books in both the original and the mountains series and I have loved every new edition!! These books are a great combination of romance, action, adventure and suspense! The world building is superb with a post-apocalyptic setting with sci-fi influences! Such an amazing series and I love that Lynnea Lee keeps the creativity going to write more books!

Yvette is a human survivor who is living with a group of human survivors and Xarc’n warriors. She doesn’t feel useful and wants to contribute by going foraging. She asks Bre’k to take her but the grumpy brute refuses. However, when another male offers to take her instead, his possessive side comes out full force.

Bre’k isn’t trying to be grumpy, but he wants Yvette and doesn’t know how to act around her. He’s worried that he may scare her off. When another tries to come between them, he won’t loose his chance and his natural instincts start come out in full force.

This was a sweet story and you really root for both Yvette and Bre’k to get their happy ending! Very well done and highly recommended!

I really liked this story a lot. It was entertaining and enjoyable with a couple of exceptions. The characters were interesting and likable for the most part. I was kind of yelling at the characters about their decision regarding the villagers. Realistically I would have voted for them to be annihilated, but I’m beginning to believe that I may be a little bit bloodthirsty. Yvette had felt like a burden for a while so she decided to learn the tasks needed so she could contribute more. She could do things once shown, but didn’t have anything to offer in her opinion. Part of that feeling was definitely based on her husband’s actions. Bre’k was the warrior that stayed at the ledge to take care of any scourge that may show up. He was protective but also kind of surly and bossy. Bre’k didn’t believe that Yvette needed to learn different skills to care for herself or others as he would protect her. They had a mutual attraction that was unknown between them as they both were good at hiding their feelings. There was some drama and angst. Pip was a great addition and hilarious. I loved their happily ever after. I recommend reading this book.

Bre'k knew that Yvette was his mate pretty much from the moment that he met her. The thing was she seemed to not hate but also be terrified of the huge Xarc'n warriors. He decided there and then to do whatever it took to make her feel at ease around him. He held back all his instincts purring, snarling, growling, everything. He was pretty much silent, seemed always negative and I think suppressing it all made him just a little bit grumpy. For her part though Yvette had long since got over her initial and distrust of the huge purple guys. She found that they were all pretty sweet once you got to know them and they all had the same tells around their mates. If she could just find one for her then she'd be happy. Research had given her lots of pointers but it also had made it very clear that the one she liked best, Bre'k, clearly didn't like her. She might have got that just a little bit wrong. I have to say that I loved Pip and I really want more of her or others like her if possible. These are fabulous books and I have loved each and every one of them. They are some of my absolute favourites!

"...our hens were not food; they were productive members of our team."

Yvette is alive in a time where Alien bugs are destroying life as we knew it, and Alien hunters are trying to save Earth and humanity... and she... she can't figure out what she brings to the table, if anything.

Bre'k has been painfully aware of Yvette's fears since she first arrived at their group. He tries to conceal his claws and fangs, and avoid making scary or Alien sounds. He spends his days protecting their base... and her. Not because he thinks she's weak, but because he hopes she could be his everything.

This done in one stand alone kindle unlimited book really brings into focus not only how we see ourselves vs. how others see us, but how things one person takes for granted or considers minor can be significant and of great importance to another. Yvette may struggle to see what she brings to the table, but Bre'k not only recognizes her contributions, he sees how much they are needed.

Yvette is one of the unattached females living on the ledge. She sees everyone else contribute to their survival and feels like she needs to be doing more. Interest in anthropology is not going to help. Winter is coming and new supplies need to be foraged.
Bre'k is one of the two unmated Xarc'n and the one who is tasked with protecting the ledge. Yvette has tested him and knows he doesn't react like she has the potential to be his mate - no purring what so ever. His fridged reaction to her must be from resentment at being stuck protecting her.

As Yvette pushes to be included in foraging, Bre'k's secrets start to emerge with the "help" of his ship Pip, changing what Yvette thought she knew.

Another great addition to the series. I love how the drive to survive and how they are able to rebuild their community. Trust is paramount and can a lack of it can stand in the way of everything. Including winning your mate.

In this book a new technology discovered THE ALIEN SHIPS ARE SENTIENT! well? …some of them are. But this makes the stories more interesting! This is the next one in the Xarc'n Warriors: Mountains series and doesn't disappoint. Life, while still hard and dangerous, is becoming a little easier. More warriors are around helping with the bugs and despite all the troubles they are finding their mates. Yvette barely leaves the lodge and helps with preserving the food. Bre'k, a warrior, watches Yvette. He knows she is his mate but keeps out of her way. When they need more supplies Yvette is forced to be brave and become a stronger woman and it is when danger approaches and she finds herself in the mating bond with Bre'k that she realises how much he means to her. Add to that a shuttle that is different with a mind of it's own and you have a great addition to the series. Well written and full of intrigue and post apocalyptic suspense, this will keep you hooked from beginning to end. I look forward to the next one in the series.

I loved this book. Another wonderful addition to a fantastic series. I've been hooked to the Xarc'n and this post-apocalyptic world since the first book of the original series. I hope it never ends! Great world building. Yvette had been afraid of the Hunters when she'd arrived at the lodge, though had calmed around them. But because of this, Bre'k has been hiding his feelings for her and trying not to growl or make inhuman sounds so as to not frighten her. Yvette felt that she wasn't contributing to the group and wanted to forage, but she thought Bre'k was grumpy and didn't like her and didn't want her to go. When another male offered to take her foraging, he immediately stepped in to take her instead. I loved the dynamic between these two. It was fun seeing the back and forth dance until *something* happened and Yvette learned how Bre'k really felt about her. I adored Pip- Bre'k's sentient(?) shuttle! This was such a fun read. I couldn't put it down. 5 stars.

When she first came to the lodge, Yvette was scared of everything. It’s been a couple years and she feels ready to start contributing to the group’s survival tasks. Bre’k has been trying to keep Yvette safe and happy while keeping his distance. Once Yvette comes out of her shell, things begin to change for both of them. She realizes she is not as weak as she thought and he realizes that his mating bond just kicked in.

The story had plenty of action, steam, and humorous moments. The author did a great job presenting a fresh point of view on life in the bugpocalypse. This is one of my favorite series. It’s worth reading from the beginning, but it is not necessary to enjoy this story. I highly recommend it.

Bre'k has been too sensitive to Yvette's fears to the point she thinks she is just a burden. A foraging trip starts a chain reaction of events. While he wants to always be the protector, however, like life things don't always work out as planned. Let's just say Yvette really seems to be the brains/problem solver of the operation!

There are so many fun and unique characters introduced in this book! While humans and warriors are the main characters, the supporting characters really add to the fun, rounding out the story. Henrietta, a chicken that is friendly and strong willed. Then there's Pip who is a total hoot, a somewhat nerdy two year old toddle at times.

I love the story and the series and I hope it never ends. Another fantastic addition to the series. Bre'k is staying at the mountain lodge and protects their tech wizard and Yvette while the others are off killing the bugs. Yvette is tired of being scared of everything and wants to be part of the solution. She is determined to go foraging for things she and the other women needs. She asks Bre'k to take her foraging and he refuses. Bre'k comes across grumpy because he didn't want to scare Yvette any more then she was when they first met. When she asks the human group to take her Bre'k get very upset. Will Yvette get the supplies they need?.

Loved reading this story that's about our timid Yvette who was afraid of the hunters, finally got plucky to go foraging with Bre'k. Yvette thinks he barely tolerates her and that he's grumpy, but Bre'k thinks the "sun rises" around Yvette. Will this foraging trip bring them together? The pets were adorable Reese's Pieces- the cat and Henrietta- the house chicken. Who would have known from the first book I read that a series of hunky purple aliens fighting bugs and finding their mates would become my addiction. I highly enjoyed this story very much there's heart tugging, steamy chemistry with engaging characters that I fell in love with, and plenty of drama and bug fighting action in a well written ARC that I received via the author and that I volunteer to read and review.

Yvette is a human woman that has a secret crush on the groups grumpy Xarc'n warrior. Bre’k is an Xarc'n warrior that has a secret crush on Yvette that only his shuttle (Pip) knows about. When Bre’k takes Yvette to a friendly neighboring group and they promised to teach Yvette to forage and fight, his mate bond ignite taking Yvette by surprise. Together they face danger after danger in a world filled with alien bugs, cannibals, a bad groups of humans.
Bre’k is like all other Xarc'n warriors, protective, strong and crazy about his mate. Yvette doesn't see her own worth until a certain warrior showed her she's worthy to love.

What is it about a romance that just enthralls us? Especially the ones that seemed doomed from the start. Yvette and Bre’k have an awkward relationship from the beginning. Yvette was afraid of the Xarc’n warrior at first when they came and rescued them and she’s afraid she made a poor first impression. Yvette doesn’t even think Bre’k likes her. Bre’k does like her, he’s just afraid of scaring her away. Between the 2 of them a couple of unexpected dangerous and exciting situations and being thrown together things come to a head in a spectacular manner. What a fun read! Great storyline, great characters and worldbuilding! Bravo!.

Bre'k was a great alien. His literal understanding of the English language made me smile. It took him a little while to understand the correct way to approach and make Yvette his mate.
Yvette is one of the people who thinks she is not helpful. I love how she discovers her true nature. She thinks Bre'k is grumpy . It was fun reading how she also discovered why he did what he did.
Pip was a unexpected surprise.
Lots of action from the first page, steamy romance, that was a slow burn to get there.
HEA and no cliffhanger is great also.
This is a great series. I have enjoyed each and every book.
