I grew up in London surrounded by books and with a cat named after Lawrence of Arabia. I studied English Literature at the University of East Anglia and live in Norwich with my husband David.

I'm a total book nerd and my TBR pile is out of control. I would quite like to be a ghost hunter, and I'm a huge fan of a fictional hero.

When I'm not writing, I spend my spare time reading, returning to London or exploring the beautiful Norfolk coastline.

I love hearing from readers, so please get in touch if you have a question or if you just want to say hello.

It was such a treat to sink back into Cressida’s book again. I loved going back to Cornwall and reading about all the characters there. This series just keeps on giving. I do hope it continues. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

Sunshine awaits in the beautiful coastal town of Port Karadow where a romance and a Cornish cream tea are always on the menu...

Oh! This one gave me all the feels 🥰

I can’t believe this is number eight in the Cornish Cream tea series but this one can easily be read as a standalone. If you’ve read any of the others you’ll love this one. It has the same homely feel to it so that you want to be accepted into the story and be part of their lives.

I love Cornwall and have been going most summers since my childhood, so the descriptions of the village and the coastline really drew me in.

I loved the connections between Maisie and her friends and their love for each other. Colm is such a sweetie even if he is pretty hot to boot! I cannot get the image of him walking out of the sea in his wetsuit out of my head 😂

There were a few annoying characters that challenged Maisie (Jeremy and her Mum) but to me these just made her more determined and stronger.

I did have a soft spot for Sprout and Thor - what great additions - and the ending will just melt your heart ❤️

Another gorgeous read from Cressida McLaughlin. It feels like coming home when we get to go to Port Karadow and Porthgolow again and I loved meeting up with the Cornish Cream Tea Bus gang.
Maisie and Colm were wonderful lead characters in this new story and the chemistry and history between them was lovely. Maisie’s attitude to life was so wonderful to read and I loved how she was so committed to the community she obviously loved.
The descriptions of the Cornish seaside were so vividly detailed, I could almost hear the waves and smell the salt and vinegar. The perfect read for a sunny day.

I received a free copy of, From Cornwall with Love, by Cressida McLaughlin, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Maisie loves her life in Cornwall, she has a great job, great friends, and a beautiful place to live, but she has no man in her life. Maisie life is going great until her ex Colm shows up, will they get back together? A great beach read, really enjoyed this book. Maisie is a great character.

While everyone else is heading out into the world, Maisie is adamant she wants to spend her life in her Cornish hometown. Even her school crush, Colm, tells her he’s proud she’s sticking by her guns and doing what she wants. Then he disappears to Australia, which breaks her heart.

Ten years later, she is working in the family ironmongers in the village, happy in her sea view cottage and her dog, only for Colm to return.

The easy reading romance is let down jointly by the weak characters and the weak plot. Maisie is a people pleaser, saying yes to everything. True, it does bring her opportunities, but she lacks any personal boundaries when she ends up saying yes to helping out her ex-boyfriend. Her saying yes and offering to help lands her in deep water when things don’t initially work out, but luckily Colm is there to tell her what to do and say. Colm looks good in a wetsuit, but that’s about it. Goodness knows why neither of them didn’t keep in contact or at least google one another in the past ten years. I guess this is to keep Colm enigmatic, when he mostly came across as dull. Poor communication between Maisie and Colm was probably meant to add tension, but it just made me frustrated towards the final chapters.

As someone who has lived in Cornwall all my life, I understand this is a fantasy version of what outsiders believe Cornwall to be like. I will forgive the perceived idea that there are only quaint, cobbled fishing villages filled with authors, artists, celebrity chefs, and independent shops that don’t go out of business in twelve months and can sustain the under thirties enough to buy seaside cottages. But come on, grockles? That’s what the tourists are called in Devon! In Cornwall, they’re called emmets. You might as well have Maisie putting cream first on her scones.

It feels as if this is the last in the author's Cornish Cream Tea series set in Cornwall. In this entry we got to spend a fair amount of time with all of the other couples from the first seven books. For some reason, this one just didn't grab my interest as most of the others have. While Maisie and Colm ultimately are an interesting couple, I despised Maisie's mother and Jeremy (head teacher at a school she used to work at). Maisie is definitely a people-pleaser, and just can't say no. Somehow, everything works out for her, but I wanted her to stand up for herself more much earlier. It's not bad book, just not up to some of the others.

This is the 8th book in this series, and although they are all set in the same place, and there are references to other people and businesses etc, they can also be read as a standalone.
Thoroughly enjoyable series that are very easy to read - doesn't require much thinking, which is exactly what I need sometimes.
Loved getting to know all the characters, and learning their lives and backgrounds.
Would definitely recommend.

We’re back in Port Karadow for the 8th book in The Cornish Cream Tea series and it is still feeling as picturesque and welcoming as in every book. As with the others this could be read as a stand alone if you’ve not read any of the others but there are quite a few characters we’ve already met that pop up in this which I know fans of the books will love. I know I certainly did, feels a bit like catching up with old friends and we all love a visit from good old Gertie!

This book is focused on Maisie’s story - a local since birth, she’s already friends with Merry, Finn, Ollie, Max, Thea and Ben (iykyk) so straight away you feel like you know the characters and can get settled into the book immediately. I really liked being able to visit some familiar locations experiencing the close friendship that this little group has and all of their four-legged companions - isn’t Sprout just the cutest!!

When Colm walks into the iron mongers you can feel the emotions fly, not just the spiders, and I found myself willing them to get together. You can see how good Colm and Maisie would be together but she’s been really hurt in the past so it’s going to be a big leap to start to really trust and believe in herself to a certain extent!

I really enjoyed reading the multiple dynamics in this book; friendship, romance, family struggles and community spirit - all in spades! I think this has encompassed everything you want from a series book, topped up with one very special piece of news that we may get to hear more about in another book?! 👣 Not sure about you but I already cannot wait for my next trip to Port Karadow! Thank you Cress for another wonderful book!!!

What is the true measure of success?

Maisie Winters is more than happy with the choices she has made, much to her mother’s frequent annoyance. She has wonderful friends, a job she loves, her own home and her dog Sprout. She was a girl after my own heart with loving the simple life and just wanting to be happy.

Cressida has a gift of writing as a triple threat. She does great characters, settings and plots. Pulling in appearances from characters of previous books makes you feel part of the community at Port Karadow and the idyllic cottages are just dreamy.

This has an unrequited love from long ago with old crush Colm returning from Australia. He was pretty dreamy too. Every time they appeared together the chemistry sizzled and I was just hoping ex colleague Jeremy wouldn’t scupper their second chance.

A slow burn romance which is chocked full of delights, from the salty sea air to a mother’s salty remarks.

What a way to end an eight book series!

From Cornwall With Love is the eighth book in the Cornish Cream Tea Series and it brings all the couples from each book together. It’s centred around Maisie and Colm, they’re the protagonists, and it follows them as Colm returns to Port Karadow after 10 years away in Australia.

When the two are reunited, they’re both dealing with their roles in life and their jobs as well as navigating old feelings that have resurfaced.

Maisie is a strong, independent woman who hasn’t let others opinions of her dictate her life and choices. She takes on lots of jobs, helping those in the town and around her with anything they need. Colm is more of the opposite, knowing when to say no, but he’s reeling from a betrayal and is reluctant to open up and be classed as a failure.

When the Porthgolow festival needs a new location, Port Karadow comes to the rescue and we see more of Charlie and Daniel. With Ollie’s idea for a Cornish calendar, we see Lila and Sam, Hannah and Noah and Ellie and Jago. Ben and Thea and meredith and Finn are key figures in the book, both women being close friends to Maisie as well as Ollie. The men all befriend Colm as well, quickly making another group of four couples.

I loved this book because it brought everyone together but also rounded off Maisie and Colm’s story. It was the perfect romcom that makes you dream of Cornish beaches and festivals with cream teas.

The writing is as always faultless and the characters are incredible. If you want a summer read, give this a go!

What a lovely way to finish the series.
Maisie is happy to stay in her beloved small town by the coast, but pressure from her mum to branch out leaves her frustrated, but then an old flame returns and things start looking up.
This was a fabulous romance, but also it was about a woman learning to stick up for what she believes in. I loved seeing all the previous couples come back in for cameos and thought the photo shoots were a clever way of doing this.
If you're after a series that will whisk you away to the Cornish coast and leave a smile on your face then these are for you.

As a born and bred Cornish girl now living in the North West it is a joy to return to Cornwall via McLaughlins stories. Although the settings are fictional, the wonderful descriptions are Kernow through and through.

This eighth instalment follows Port Karadow local, Maisie Winters who loves everything about the idyllic coastal town where she has grown up. Although for some it seems a small life, Maisie knows the things she does are appreciated by the community and are for the greater good of her home. I found Maisie to be a really likeable protagonist and her unwavering loyalty was highly admirable. Personally, I don’t think I ever realised how much I loved my surroundings and the way of life that Cornwall offers until I left at the age of 32. Now 2 years later, I miss and yearn for it every day.

Picking up this book was like catching up with old friends, as we see all the characters from previous instalments return this time. Some who even have exciting news that may promise future works.

If you’re after a feel good book with plenty of heart then this is the one for you…but do yourself a favour and start from book one!!

It’s hard to believe that From Cornwall with Love is the eighth book in the Cornish Cream Tea series by Cressida McLaughlin. It’s a series that has gone from strength to strength and I always enjoy every minute of the time I spend lost in the world that Cressida has created be it in Porthgolow or Port Karadow. You really feel that you are transported away to the little Cornish coastal towns that have such special characters who all work together to create such a vibrant community with solid friendships where everyone is welcomed with open arms and any problems you have will be solved and along the way of course some romance might land smack bang in the middle of your life path. There is a different style of design for the book cover for this new story and I will admit it did take some time to grow on me as I had become very familiar with the old style of pictures used but now I really love it and think it provides a wonderful image of what many readers will believe the setting of Port Karadow to be like.

From Cornwall With Love can be read as a stand-alone book but really this series is so fabulous you should do yourself the favour and read them all from the very beginning. Characters from the previous books come into play but not in an overbearing way and you will be easily able to follow it all. In fact, it’s fun for new readers to work out who is with who and what some of their stories may have been. This time around Maisie Winters is the main protagonist. The book opens with a prologue set ten years previously from the present day. Her sister Heather is studying event management in London and her friend Gemma will be going away to Durham university once the summer ends but Maisie is happy to stay working at the family ironmongers. She has no intentions of leaving Port Karadow. She loves the beauty and peace of the Cornish coastline and she thoroughly enjoys the sense of closeness she experiences where everyone knows and helps each other.

Maisie is passionate about the place she grew up in and I loved how she always stood firm and held her ground despite the endless and in my view unnecessary pressure her mother Annie heaps upon her. Annie more often than not came across as being very heartless. She has many friends in the village, one of them being Colm who always gave her good advice and supported her telling her there is a lot of strength in knowing what you want in life. It’s clear from the outset that Maisie has feelings for Colm and that she would love for their friendship to develop into something more so when he abruptly leaves for a new life in Australia and never tells her she is completely and utterly devastated. Her world has shattered and her intense crush has gone from her life.

Fast forward to the present day and Maisie is still working at the ironmongers but now having taken on more of a managerial role as her Dad has taken somewhat of a backseat. She had dabbled in teaching for some time (thanks to Annie believing that this would be the ideal career for her) but she knew that long term it wasn’t what she wanted and she left. She has been through numerous disastrous relationships and although she dreams about the kind of love that exists in novels Maisie is happy enough with her new house and her loyal dog Sprout by her side not to mention the many friends she has. One of those former flames that she would much rather forget but can’t really due to the fact that he still resides in the village is Jeremy, a teacher whom she worked with. I detested Jeremy, he seemed to have such a bee in his bonnet since Maisie had realised she was better off with him. I loathed the way he talked to her yet when he wanted help with his fish and chips quiz he turned to her and further on when she wanted the favour returned to be honest he was just downright mean. It took a lot of strength and courage for Maisie to stand up to him but that’s what I love about her she knows what she wants to do in life and she never lets external pressures get to her no matter how much she is tested, poked and prodded.

Maisie just wants to make a difference in Port Karadow and she can’t imagine loving anywhere else as much as she does the village. She is the epitome of kindness, helpfulness and giving and I just loved her. It was like her character just called out to me and I was nodding along with everything she said and did. I couldn’t fathom at all why her mother wasn’t supporting her in what she wanted to do with her life. Who says you need to leave where you were born and go out into the world and do something major with your life. If you are happy in heart and mind and you are doing what you believe is best for you than why should you listen to what others believe? Fair enough if Maisie was wild and doing outrageous, dangerous and potentially life ruining things but she wasn’t at all. Then you’d say something that she needed to sit up and pay attention to what her mother was saying but she wasn’t at all. She was just being her true self and I adored her for this. Her Cornish lifestyle was fulfilling enough for her and Annie really should have let sleeping dogs lie instead of constantly goading Maisie and offering needless advice. To be honest I would have told her where to go. I really don’t know where Maisie got her patience from with regards to this.

The crush that had laid dormant for a decade comes rushing to the surface when Maisie discovers that Colm has returned to Port Karadow and it looks like he won’t be returning to Australia in a hurry. On the one hand you get excited for Maisie thinking ooh could things turn into something more like she had always wished for? Then on the other I was thinking don’t welcome him back with open arms after all he hurt you so badly when he left unannounced and maybe he is not the one for you that perhaps she should set her sights somewhere else? There is a simmering tension between the pair that is there from the first time they see each other again with a deep sense of a lot left unsaid. Maisie needs answers as to why Colm left without warning but Colm too is hiding something and he is reluctant to say why he came back from what one would think is an idyllic Australian lifestyle.

Colm comes across as being lovely and wanting to reconnect with Maisie and the people of the village. He throws himself into the calendar project as organised by Ollie (god I just love her enthusiasm and the fact she is always on the go doing things) and photographed by Maisie. I loved how this allowed for the reappearance of old familiar faces and Charlie and Daniel, well the developments in their relationship brought a smile to my face. Colm is open in some ways yet guarded in others and as Masie and himself grow closer and she opens up about the past and how she felt about everything there are lingering doubts for her that Colm will be stable material and not do a flit again. She needs to have the belief that she deserves to have something positive and special in her life. She has always known her own mind and you just hope that Colm can come to the same stance in his own head and heart. Will Maisie and Colm find what has been missing in their lives and let’s be honest do what this reader wanted to happen right from the very first page? Well you’ll have to read this delightful story to discover the answers.

I got the sense in the final few chapters and through reading the authors note at the end from Cressida that this may be the last in the series. I hope I am completely wrong about this and way off track because I would love it to continue for another few books at least. But if this is to be the last we read of this wonderful setting and fantastic characters then From Cornwall With Love has been a fitting ending and Maisie has been my favourite character of all with Ollie coming a close second. This is a book to make you happy as Maisie is such an inspirational character and her determination to stick to her guns throughout is admirable and has you rooting for her all the more. It has such a lovely, relaxed feeling about it all and you really get the sense that Cressida loves writing this series just as much as her loyal readers love each new instalment. Maisie’s story was the perfect summer read and I hope it finds its way to lots of readers.

I love this author and have read and enjoyed all of the Cornish Cream Tea Bus series. I thought this was a new series and new location, but we are back in Cornwall in the little seaside villages of Porth Karadow and Porthgolow that I know so well from the previous books. It was so lovely to be back and to meet some of the characters that I've met before.

In this book we meet Maisie Winters who lives and works in Porth Karadow. She works in her father's shop and whilst everyone else has left to pursue their dreams, Maisie stayed behind. When her former love, Colm Caffrey returns, she finds old feelings for him begin to rise to the surface again. I loved Maisie's character, although she really needed to learn how to say no instead of taking on so many jobs for everyone around the village. Colm was also a very likeable character, but he did seem to be carrying a lot of baggage upon his return.

It was lovely to be back amongst the villagers again and I enjoyed seeing them all again at the Porthgolow Festival! As usual the book was filled with lots of fun and laughter, alongside the family and friends dramas running through Maisie and Colm's stories. The storyline was wonderful and the location was perfect, warming my heart as I read. This is definitely the ideal summer escapism! Would recommend!

OMG, why have I never read any books of this author yet? I didn't realise this is number eight in the Cornish Cream tea series, but you can read it as a standalone.

Even though Maisie is busy working at the Ironmonger, she also lets herself ropped into helping her friends. Maisie never takes credits for her hard work, and it certainly doesn't help her own mother constantly criticism her. Yet her Maisie friends think the world of her.

Maisie is so passionate about her hometown, and you really feel her love for Port Karadow. She is definitely the kind of friend you want in your life. I loved all the characters mentioned in the book. I believe some of these are mentioned in the other Cornish Cream tea series.

I enjoyed the 'will they, won't they' aspect of the story and was really rooting for Masie & Colm.
@cressmclaughlin described the surroundings and scenery so beautiful that you feel like part of the community.

This was such a feel-good book that will leave you wanting more and definitely one to add to your summer reads. It is the perfect summer getaway!

It was the eighth book in the Cornish Cream Tea series, eighth! And it felt like this. If I were to judge it on its context and plot, I'd give it maximal 2 stars - it felt boring, predictable, repeatable, there is always the same patter - a new couple, beautiful setting, some animals, bad weather coming putting someone in danger and someone rescuing the person in danger which leads to a brilliant happy end. Gah. Same old, same old. Really.

But I'll try to pretend that I haven't read the previous book and that I'm not reading a copy of them. Cressida McLaughlin has a way with words and her novels are gentle and sunny, filled with characters that are full of flaws and who are having problems. She describes the setting and the surroundings in a lovely, descriptive way. What I need from Cressida though is that she gives her characers personalities. Maisie is a people pleaser and yes, she seems happy with it, and it gives her opportunities, but sometimes less is more. Colm asolutely didn't wow me, what was so special in him, except that he adopted a cat and looked good in a wetsuit?

I am in minority here, with everybody else singing this book praises and it's good so - probably I am too old already, or I don't only need beautiful setting. Didn't work for me, but can work brilliantly for you.

Cressida McLaughlin is back with an escapist summer romance that is simply gorgeous: From Cornwall with Love.

Maisie Winters loves her life. While her best friend and her sister couldn’t wait to get out of the idyllic Cornish town of Port Karadow, Maisie stayed put and hasn’t regretted it for a single second. Where else would she get to wake up to beautiful vistas and majestic surroundings? With Cornwall giving her ample opportunity to indulge in her passion for photography, Maisie cannot imagine living anywhere else. With her job at her dad’s shop and adorable rescue dog, Maisie has everything she could possibly want – until a face from the past returns to town and brings with him a whole host of emotions which she had thought long-buried!

Colm Caffrey has spent a decade abroad and has returned back to Port Karadow. All of Maisie’s old feelings quickly resurface, but will her former crush give her the time of day when so much time has passed? Being single has never bothered Maisie before yet she cannot deny the fact that she would love nothing more than to have Colm by her side for the rest of her life. Will it be second time lucky for the two of them? Or are Maisie and Colm simply not meant to be?

Cressida McLaughlin’s books never fail to delight and she has done it again with her immersive, charming and wonderfully romantic new novel, From Cornwall with Love. Witty, warm-hearted and impossible to put down, From Cornwall with Love is an enchanting and enjoyable tale about second chances, new beginnings and finding your soulmate set in a beautiful part of the world that will whisk readers away and leave them with a massive smile on their faces.

As fabulous as ever , Cressida McLaughlin has got another winner on her hands with her latest novel, From Cornwall with Love.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Ahh Port Karadow, I can hear the seagulls and smell the tang of vinegar. I'm glad to make a return visit via 'From Cornwall With Love', another delight from Cressida McLaughlin, the eighth in her series.

Proud local Maisie Winters doesn't regret her choices to remain in her beloved hometown, taking over the family shop and living with her dog in a gorgeous cottage she renovated. Her love life, however, has stagnated.

To Maisie's shock, teenage crush Colm Caffrey drops into her shop after a decade of silence, having moved without warning to Sydney leaving her devastated. Colm is back indefinitely and while its clear the spark from their teenage days is there, but will this leave her heartbroken again?

One of the strengths of this book, indeed the whole series, is its characters (spoiler alert: there's welcome appearances from previous books). McLaughlin creates characters that feel like friends with the same sort of vulnerabilities.

Maisie is the best sort of neighbour you'd want. She's resourceful, friendly and entrenched in community. I loved watching her growing confidence to stand up for herself to her ex-colleague Jeremy and, especially her mother. Colm was also a supportive sweetheart. He knew the best way to demonstrate to Maisie how serious he was, given his regrets over his departure.

This sweet slow-burn second chance is like the balm to one's soul. Read this book with a toastie, hot chocolate and the heater on high (unless you're in the northern hemisphere, in which case, read it at the beach). I am always happy to return to Port Karadow and look forward to the next visit, or really, any place Cressida McLaughlin wishes to take us lucky readers.

Thanks to Harper Collins UK and NetGalley for the ARC.

It was wonderful to be back in Port Karadow and Porthgolow, in another Cornish story from Cressida McLaughlin It was fabulous to get to know Maisie, who really has Port Karadow running through her blood.

She is incredibly community minded and happy to help out with most things regardless of how busy it might make her. And within the space of one summer she is involved in three big events for the community and charity.

Out of the blue Colm, who Maisie thinks of as the one that got away, comes back after a decade in Australia, and its clear the friendship between them although it needs work, is still there. The more i got to know Colm the more I loved him.

Of course all the familiar characters and locations we have loved and met from previous books in the series, are all present and it was really good to catch up with them, and see any new developments from their lives.

I loved Cressida's writing and she conjures up scenes of Cornwall so vividly you feel as though you are there. I really felt at home amongst all the characters and settings, while also feeling exhausted as we try to keep up with just about everything Maisie is juggling.

And I loved her dog Sprout too, not to mention the little kitten that may have adopted Colm. Maisie is such a lovely main character, I just couldn't believe some people seemed to be doubting her abilities and her happiness. I really wanted to throttle the Maisie detractors.

I spent a wonderful afternoon in my garden, in the sunshine devouring this book. I loved it. More please!

Thank you Harper Collins for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

The Blurb :
There’s no place like home. There’s no place like Cornwall…
Maisie Winters has everything she could ever want. She lives in the idyllic Cornish town of Port Karadow, has a jammy job in her dad's shop, adores her rescue mutt, and has time to take the landscape photos she loves.
While her best friend and sister left the town to chase big dreams in London and New York, Maisie stayed – she wouldn't leave her favourite place for anything … or anyone.
When her long-time crush, Colm Caffrey, returns from a decade abroad, old feelings start to resurface. Maisie begins to ask herself if there might be one big thing missing after all?

My Thoughts :
This is book 8 in The Cornish Cream Tea series, it can be read as a standalone, although I would recommend reading them all as to familiarize yourself with the Characters that will pop up along the way. Its good to get some background knowledge on whats going on.
Here in the 8th book, we meet Maisie Winters, Maisie is happy living in Port Karadow and working at her parents Iron mongers shop. She has no intention of leaving despite her friends and sister branching out their wings and leaving the area over the years.
And then we have Colm Caffrey, Colm was Maisie’s school crush and she was devastated when he moved to Austraila 10 years ago, Colm had now decided to return to Port Karadow much to the delight of Maisie but can they rekindle something they once had or has too many years passed!?.
I loved Maisie and Colm together, they had such a connection and it was wonderful to see them reconnect and catch up on the last 10 years.
Cressida McLaughlin always delivers stories you get invested in and it was great to be back in Port Karadow. She describes the surroundings and scenery beautifully and will make the readers feel they are right there in amongst the Characters lives.
Looking forward to more soon, even if we sadly no longer go back to Port Karadow as this is the last book in the series. I am sure we will have more exciting stories to read.

My Opinion

This is the latest book in The Cornish Cream Tea series but it could be read as a standalone - although it is far more enjoyable if you know the background to the characters. I read this book over a few days to try and prolong my enjoyment - I have yet to be disappointed by a Cressida McLaughlin book.

Maisie was such a nice character with a lot of community spirit and it was lovely getting to know her and catching up with some familiar faces. This was such a feel good book, that will leave you wanting more. This is a series that I would love to continue for a long time - it is very nice to return to visit old friends.

From Cornwall With Love is just the perfect summer read and I absolutely loved it.
Although the book is part of a series it can be read as a stand alone, but it was so comforting to return back to that part of the country and to read about some familiar characters. I have only read a couple of the books from the series and need to read them all, but it was nice to catch up with them and read about what happens next, especially Charlie from the Cornish Cream Tea Bus.
I loved the story line of the book and Maisie was just such a strong character. I loved her determination and the love for her community really shone through. I liked how her character developed and she was able to stand her ground to Jeremy and her mum.
Her relationship with Colm was so cute to see and there was definitely chemistry throughout the book. The slow burn romance really added to the story and the ending was just perfect. I would love to read more about them and the others in the story.
The settings for this book and previous are always so picturesque and really makes me want to go to Cornwall. I could almost hear the waves in the bay, picture the cute town and smell the sausage rolls from Sea Brew.
I love Cressida's writing and the books feel so comforting and make you want to pick them up time after time. I look forward to reading the series from the beginning and also hope for new books, to find out what happens next.

I'm a little upset that I've only just found this series - as this is book 8 of the Cornish Cream Tea series - and I really loved it.

The setting was just gorgeous. Having been to Cornwall on holiday a few times when I was younger, the descriptive writing really set the scene well and took me right back to those late summer holidays. I could picture myself really being there with them and it gave me a cosy nostalgic feeling.

I loved our main characters, Maisie and Colm. From the minute they met again, I could feel the pull between them and was really rooting for them to work things out and get together, even though I knew it would be hard for Maisie to make that leap again after being heartbriken in the past.

I got the feeling that a lot of the other characters would have been familiar figures. Maisie having lived there her whole life, and the huge sense of community that exists throughout the town, would have meant that there were close friendships already formed prior to this book.
So, although this did work perfectly as a standalone, I felt as though some of the other characters would have held more meaning if I'd read the rest of the series. Like going back to visit old friends.

Still, this didn't diminish my enjoyment of this book and Maisie's story at all - if anything, it has made me want to add the remaining books to my wishlist and catch up on the tales from Port Karadow.
