The Naughty Heist

Rate this book
Love is a beautiful thing, but is it worth the risk of losing it all?
Finessing has always been at the top of thirty-two-year-old McKenna St. James’ to-do list. Born into a family who lives for the thrill of pulling heists, she was inducted into the fast life and trained to crack the most intricate safe at a young age. Now that McKenna has solidified her reputation in the streets and earned enough money to never have to work again, there is only one job standing between her and retirement. At least, that’s how it appears when she takes advantage of an opportunity that may unseal Pandora’s Box… or a jail cell.
Forty-year-old Wager Bets has managed to escape the streets without seeing the penitentiary or a pine box. Still, his success wasn’t without sacrifice, and when he peers at the burns on his skin, he’s reminded of the price he paid. Competent with the mundane routine of running his pawnshop and returning home, Wager has found peace. However, the reappearance of a blast from the past may unleash the animal inside of him that’s been locked away since the last time he was in love.

3.5

This was a 3.5 for me! I liked the story line but I felt like the book was rushed and I didn’t feel the chemistry between the couple! The story line was good though and I like the little twist that was thrown in.

I see you Miss Wynta! This read was a bit different from you usual, but in the best way! I loved McKenna! She was smart, feisty and fearless! She was groomed to crack safes and pull big heists, while not giving one damn! 😂 In her world, money was the only thing that mattered to her; after enduring two huge losses! The last heist that was supposed to retire her, went sour after she was betrayed by her best friend/sister. Damn Jaya, that move was savage girl! 😈 While recovering, she encounters a blast from the past, that left her shook! Really Wager? You a G and couldn't allow a lil help from your woman? Uggghhhh....😠 I was pissed at him for how he did McKenna, but then I could understand his point of view, as to why he moved that way. Their second chance love story was sweet. I enjoyed Wager reassuring McKenna of his love and place in her life, while regaining her trust. Revenge time was served cold for sure! McKenna played no games when it came to her get back! Nice start to the naughty series! 👍👍👍

Good read

I liked Saint, and I hate what her best friend did to her.
I can't believe Wager hid that long. I was happy when they reunited. Jaya got what her greedy but deserved.

It took a second to grab me, when it did I was locked in. Saint and her crew worked seamlessly together and completed a major score. Only to be betrayed. I wasn't sure how this story would come together especially with it being a short. Wynta Tyme did a good job of delivering the story with an entertaining plot while reuniting lost love. Good spice made it extra nice.

🥰

A heist gone bad- back stabbing friends, rekindled relationship, and revenge. Whew- in 100 pages this author managed to give a complete story. I understood why Wage was so insistent on helping McKenna - he wanted that old thing back. I think he had a ton of guilt but also I think he worried she wouldn’t accept him and his flaws. I hated that McKenna had to grieve and endure a traumatic experience to get back to the love of her life. Jaya deserved all that she got in the end!

No Spoilers* McKenna was raised in a family who lived for the thrill of pulling off heists. Now at her big age she is ready for retirement after one last heist that will put her in the spot to be able to do so. Now you think that you know someone who you deem a bestfriend, family, and more? not in this tale of money makes the world go round. I was rooting for Mckenna to gain revenge and that she did. Wynta Tyme will always put a spin in her books and leave someone leaking in the process. I loved how she wrote Wager and their rekindling moment. I thoroughly enjoyed The Naughty Heist for its revenge plot and second chance romance. One thing i love is the way Wynta does not shy away from creating a character with a disability or a condition.. I’m always surprised when getting to know the character but never disappointed! One of my favorite things about her work.

This was def something different from me. I liked the heist storyline, with Saint being the leader...cause Woman can be boss ass theives...haha. but no seriously I loved the way the story was written. The plot twist got me cause I didn't really expect it, like I expected Nicks part but did not se her good for nothing ass backstabing "friend" doing her dirty. Jaya was dirty for that one and she desereved every bit of that petty death...Saint was def that B*tch...iykyk. I loved that Wager held such a tourch for Saint even after 15 years...like I was mad at a ni**a for faking his death too, but I understood. The only thing I would have changed or added was the spicy being spicier, like it was good, don't get me wrong but def wanted more and maybe just have been a tad bit longer...but overall solid read

Second Chance With A Twist!!!

Saint wanted to retire from the heist business so she was doing one last job. All doesn't go well on this final job and Saint ends up coming in contact with her first love who she thought died 15 years ago. Wager made the decision to let Saint believe he had died on his last job. Wager knows that this is his second chance to get Saint back into his life. I really enjoyed reading this second chance at love book with a bad ass female who does heists. This story also includes double-crossing and revenge elements that adds an extra layer to the story. I was glad that Saint and Wager were able to come together to have a life of love, passion and safety.

Great story

A real page turner
Wage and McKenna story was full of action, suspense, betrayal family, love and excitement
The love they had for each other never ended and it was great seeing it unfold during the reunion
McKenna and Wage had some hard decisions to make but they came through the other side winning after the heinous betrayal McKenna went through by someone she loved and trusted
First time reading this author she did a great job keeping you interested and writing relatable characters with an amazing storyline
Will definitely check out her catalogue and recommend this book

It was okay…

This reminded me too much of the movie The Italian Job with a few twist here and there…SPOILER…Daddy is a safe cracker who taught his daughter the trade (same as the movie). Someone gets betrayed by a member of their gang (same as the movie). Betrayer steals gold and then purchases everything the team members wanted (same as movie). Daughter ends up with daddy’s right hand man (you guessed it…same as the movie). So if you’ve seen the movie before and just wanna read about it with an all minority cast, check this out. Otherwise you can pass.

Great Second Chance Romance story.

This book was really good and I enjoyed it. Man, what do you do when your best friend turns on you and leave you for dead. First thing that Jaya should have done was to make sure that Saint was dead, but since she didn’t, she made the biggest mistake of her life. This caused Saint to reunite with her first love and get his help with the biggest heist that she had to plan which was REVENGE! The story was well written and kept my attention. Jaya and Nick got just what they deserved.

Love the representation. This is my first time reading a book by Wynta Tyme, while reading this book it felt more like I was reading the protagonist diary could be just my interpretation. There was a lot beautiful heart feld dialogue. I felt a lot of times that the protagonist was acting more as a 20 year old and a 30 year old could also just be my imagination decisions that she made felt rushed, but you could also have grown up very sheltered that's why she made certain decisions but yeah it's a three-star for me I'm gonna try other books by Wynta Tyme.

A naughty heist

I enjoyed this second chance love story and I’m glad Wager and his Saint were able to find their way back to each other. Them finding each other again in another country after so many years had passed had to be fate.

This book truly showed there is no honor among thieves.

I liked how Wager made it a point to provide security and reassurance to McKenna and that he provided closure for Paige.

This was a really good and short book.

Awesome Read

Wager and Saint were brought back together at the right time. Him helping nurse her back to health after her injury was pure fate. Him making her think her was dead for15 years was wrong, but he wanted to protect her heart. They eventually worked out their differences and moved forward liked they had never missed a beat. He helped her recover what was taken from her and seek revenge. Great read!

Thats how you end a Thanksgiving

I loved Wage and Mckenna together, I am so glad she followed her momma and got her love back. Wage OMG i definitely loved everything about him and how he made sure McKenna understood neither one of them was going anywhere. Now Jaya and Nick I was like victory was made because they were wrong on all levels. This was a quick read that will keep you wanting more!

Not a bad read

The Naughty Heist was an interesting take for a second chance romance. Dealing with betrayal on one of the worst levels, McKenna is recovering when she encounters an old flame she’s never gotten over. Wager is living a peaceful life off the grid, but has never forgotten McKenna. Add a heist, betrayal, and doubt and this story is certainly entertaining.

A hint of the Italian Job!

Wage And Saint, whst a pair. They had a hard time understanding that love will endure....if you let it! I hare to see couples sabatoge their relationships based on the idea that they are doing it for the other person. Remeber to check with the other person before making decisions. Sometimes you're erong.

This was a beautiful romance with some well deserved revenge. How can you betray somebody who taught you everything? I guess it was a great thing because she got to meet her love of her life again.

Disconnected

I liked the story, but I did not love it. I did not make a connection with either Saint or Wage or the storyline. I read the chapters slower to stay engaged. And overall, the story was an okay read for me. 3.75 stars.

Evil was met with evil. Old and new love blossomed from a unspeakable betrayal.

Naughty heist for sure

Book had a slow start but the ending made up for that. Needed a little more in the beginning to pull me in. Loved that after 15 years of being apart from each other McKenna and Wage love was still stronger than ever. Loved their relationship.

Loved this second chance romance! A great mix of plot and romance. McKenna and Wage's chemistry was strong from the beginning no matter how mad McKenna was at Wage for the way he originally left her. I loved how Wage immediately stepped in and backed McKenna up on her revenge mission. Wage's growth from when he left McKenna all those years ago to how we meet him in the book was a great read.

I loved it!

This was an awesome read! It's crazy how a betrayal from one person could bring so much love and happiness from another one! Although it was a crazy situation, everything happens for a reason. Good read

Good read!

This is my first read from this author and it was pretty good but I feel like I’ve seen or read this before. I liked that after 15 years apart the love was still there. I also liked that Wage wasn’t letting Saint leave him.

Everyone isn’t your friend

Man…this is the first book i read by this author but it won’t be my last. I love romantic suspense. Saint’s bestie, Jaya wasn’t a bestie at all. In the end, she got what was coming to her. I would love to read more about the characters from this story.

great book

Wow this book was so good. St and Wager never loved another person. Jayla and Nick got what they deserved. Wager was a real man with what he said to Paige and St.
