Had the pleasure of beta reading this and it is the perfect mix of romance and fantasy. The world building is incredible and Wren is my book bf. I can't wait for more. This may be Lierzs debut but it doesn't feel like it

I was blessed with an ARC copy of this book and I couldn’t put it down. Having to peel myself away from it was horrible but I kept thinking of it … trying to fill in the blanks and trying to guess what was going to happen. Plot twist: when I thought I knew, I didn’t. Which I love! Though I have absolutely chosen my team in this fantastic book, I’m so excited to see this book become more than just a bestseller. I cannot wait for the next book. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ 10/10! Preorder it or buy it now! Don’t wait!

If you know the fantasy genre, here's your sign: there's map full of words you probably won't know how to pronounce. Characters' names too 😄.
B.J.J.'s writing style is literally every thing & every way I love to read: instantly hooked in the story, introducing all of the elements without needing chunks of *telling*, sneaking in foreshadowing so perfectly you can't predict the future of the plot (I only got ONE thing right!🤯) , keeping the same level of energy and suspense the entire way through, and using words real people actually use during the 'spicy' scenes. She has a way of absolutely immersing you in the world.
Here, I'd usually share a list of my favorite bits of the story, writing style, characters, etc. I can't do that with this one; it's literally everything.
What I hated: why'd you have to do that to Wren? Not happy with you.
Future book thoughts (no major spoilers):
This little world is going through something major and poor Genevieve is right at the center. She's ready for it though, at least mentally. I'm not sure she is as strong as she thinks, especially after meeting a certain character in the labyrinth. I want to cheer on her little ragtag team of family-friends that are here to help her in the future, but there've been a lot of red flags so far. Who is actually on her side?!

This book blew my mind. It will leave you wanting more and to NEVER EVER put it down. The moments I had to pull myself away where painful. I have NEVER been so enveloped in a book before and I love to read. I’m so happy that I got to read this early and that I was given the pleasure of being an arc reader. I can not wait to get a hard copy. The whole time reading it I didn’t know if I wanted it to be a series or not. I just wanted to know what was going to happen in the end and as others have said as soon as you think you know what is going to happen, your whole world will be turned upside down and shattered. I can’t recommend this book enough. If I could pre order all of them before they where written I would.

When I tell you that this book is one of my absolute favorites!? 1000% Amazing. I need more. Book 2 could not get here fast enough and this one isnt even officially released yet. I was a beta reader (This is Kisa by the way) and I have been so excited. For months Ive been sending all the hype to B.J.J. and Im so glad I can finally post here and share the hype with you all.
Okay, so tldr; spicy shifter romance with love triangle and unique magic system. Has spice and violence sprinkled brilliantly throughout. Clifhanger.
The development of the main character through this entire book was immaculate. You grow with her as you read. You feel her pain when shes hurt and her joy when shes happy. The FLI will make you love her desperately and then so angry at her you could cry at some points on a very real level. The MLI is your new book boyfriend. Dont fight it just let it happen. Congrats. We all deserve a Wren in our lives. The side characters have enough development that they could even get their own spin off series. You can see the scenes without it being overbearing amounts of detail. The story flows and twists in all the right ways. Youll probably read the whole thing in one to two sittings because its just not something youll want to put down. I absolutely devoured it. This book was developed with the skill and grace of a seasoned writer if Ive ever seen one. B.J.J. Never stop writing. You have my support whole heartedly for the rest of your career.

Let me start by saying, I absolutely love this book. I was given an ARC of this book to read a few days before I started it 2 days ago. I haven’t been able to put it down. This story is so well written. The world building and explanation of the magic system are well done without being a dump of too much information, and is easy to grasp.
Now for the story. So this is probably going to sound bad, but I felt like half the time I had no idea what was going on, but I couldn’t get enough. There were twists and turns that frequently had me questioning if I missed something, but it didn’t detract from the story. It kept me engaged and on the edge of my seat.
I can’t wait for book 2 and this one hasn’t even been officially released yet. I’ve already recommended this book to multiple people and if you like paranormal fantasy with a side of romance, you should definitely pick up this book! Just make sure to read the trigger warnings prior to reading. There are definitely a few scenes that were hard for me to read even knowing the triggers in the book and expecting to come across them.

An incredible story with deep emotional complexity. My favorite part is how all romantic relationships where treated with such respect. Normally when I read books with both straight and LGBTQIA+ relationships the heterosexual relationships are made to feel more valid. That was not the case here which made me so happy. On top of that the plot complexities really pull you in for a crazy ride that ends in a nail biting cliffhanger that has you begging for more!
The one negative I felt was more personal opinion, I am the kind of person who if I am going to be blamed for something and get punished I would just do what I want. For example how she handles men is just insane to me considering how powerful she is.

The main female character Genevieve is beautifully written, she is brave and stubborn, strong willed and sexual!
Her counterparts are a male and a female both characters written perfectly… they are complete opposites that share an undying love for Genevieve.
The adventures this story takes you on keeps you turning the pages.
The romance is undeniable and delicious!
You get to know these characters and truly form a bond with them.

I had the chance to read this book with the amazing BJJ as she readied it for publication. This book is a masterpiece. Her characters are unique, nuanced, and lovable (when they’re supposed to be 😉). Her plot line is inventive, suspenseful, and perfectly-paced. Her world-building drops you right into the setting without cramming it down your throat. You will fall in love, you will be surprised, you will feel fear, you will have your heart broken and you’ll be on the edge of your seat for more!

I got lucky enough to be an ARC reader for this, and there is so much to say. It’s beyond well written, the bisexual representation is done tastefully. The main character has really well thought out interactions.
You can tell the writer put a lot of love and interest into this book, it’s definitely something I could read again and again. It’s twist and turns kept me reading. Definitely a suggested read and excited to share with others.

I got selected to be an advanced reader… read it in a day. Am thoroughly obsessed with her characters and storyline. It’s a fantasy romance but one that I’ve not experienced before so it was a ride for sure. Only downfall of being an ARC reader… having to wait for actual release to buy a hard copy… and waiting who knows how long for book 2. 😂😂😂

I applied to be an ARC reader through AuthorTok and i didn't think I would get accepted but here I am with my honest review and quite possibly my best one yet! Maybe it's because I know how to write them now lol --------
Oh my gosh... The suspense, the drama, and everything was absolutely perfect about the character development!
I loved the fact it kept me on the edge of my seat and I didn't feel mad about the twists and turns this book took me on. There were parts that i was mad, sad, glad, and just plain oh my gosh I have to keep reading.
That being said, there were parts that had me me not as excited to read which is every book of course, but these parts felt flat to me for some reason. I can't put my finger on it, but they weren't enough to not have me give it five stars.
Genevieve and Wren stole the whole book for me. I adored watching both of them grow and flourish with each other! They're couple goals for sure!
I loved how the nothing overshadowed anything else. It was a perfect balance of spice, plot, violence and just character development. Although there were some characters i would have loved to see explored more, I know there's only so much that can happen in a book.
I have to talk about the emotional damage this book has done to me though. I want Wren to be my book boyfriend, I don't like the Darkness and all of the cronies, but it's intriguing to the point of I NEED MORE RIGHT NOW...

I made it a personal goal to get back into reading in the last year but was really struggling with my ability to focus for long periods of time. I haven’t really read more than 2 or 3 books in the last decade which made me so sad as I was the kid who would read a book in a couple days. Even in the last year I haven’t been able to focus long enough to finish an anything.
This book might’ve cured me. The characters are fully fleshed out and the world building is immersive. I truly fell in love with the main characters of this story and haven’t experienced a post read depression like this ever. I never wanted to book to end.
This is the authors debut book and I truly cannot wait for the rest of the series. I did wallow in the post book blues for a few weeks but it reignited a love in me for the way books can become all consuming and I am happy to report I have continued reading since.

Where to begin? I'll start with the ending. No amount of foreshadowing prepared me for the ending. I had the most intense visceral reaction I can recall in recent time. I'm still not over it, brilliantly executed.
Soul Sifter is quirky and fun at the best of times. Full of rich textures and vibrancy that really draw you in. I promise you can hear the accent of certain characters thanks to the shift in linguistics.
At the worst of times, you'll likely want to break things. There must be a balance to all things so for every happy, warm fuzzy moment there is an equally painful moment.
The spice is not beginner friendly. It gets kinky.

GoodNIGHT what a rollercoaster I just went through. I had to take a day to collect my thoughts because I have so many questions.
First, this book is incredible. The world is super interesting and the building is cleverly intertwined into the story. I love the fantasy elements, the different status groups, the different Magics. The romance is swoon worthy on multiple levels. I was completely enthralled by this book. I immediately need answers to all of my questions, but that’s how I know I loved a book.
This debut is fantastic. I can’t wait to read more in this world. Writing was impeccable and the twists and turns were so exciting and heart wrenching. Cannot recommend enough!

I finally caved and bought this book after following the author on TikTok for a while, and I’m glad I did! The physical book itself was nice and heavy and flexible- basically the perfect book. The story was intriguing and the world she built is so cool. The FMC is strong, funny, and not afraid to take charge. She still had her emotional moments where she might be doubting herself, but it never felt forced. The romances were really sweet and I never guessed the ending. Every time I thought I knew where it was headed, it would pivot into something else. I still have so many unanswered questions about how the universe works, so I can’t wait until the next one comes out.

I had the privilege to ward this as an arc… I had a hard time reading more than a chapter at a time through the first portion of the book. I got to the 30-ish percent mark and it picked up to a point I couldn’t put it down. The relationship between Genevieve and Wren is cute and frustrating… the warm friendship she developed with Hanna.. I loved.. Hanna took her in under her wing and really became a great support for Genevieve. The cliffhanger is going to drive me crazy until the next book comes out!! I only gave it a 3 because of my slow start to the book..

I feel so lucky to have read Soul Sifter early! Get ready to fall in love with a cast of amazing, three-dimensional characters. The “magic” system was so novel and I was rooting for Genevieve, Essie, and Wren the whole time.
The world was so well-written it almost feels like I watched a movie or a miniseries. I can picture it all in my head. B.J.J Lierz is a force to be reckoned with! I can’t wait for book 2!

I was so lucky to receive an ARC of this book, and just finished it half an hour ago, and after composing myself, raced to leave another glowing review. This book is INCREDIBLE! It’s not even out yet, and I can’t wait to devour more of this story. These characters just make you fall in love with them! Essie’s accent, Wren being the KING of consent, that PLOT TWIST… I adored it all. This will for sure be a book I’ll want to re-read again, and again.

Soul Sifter was amazing. I couldn’t put it down. B. J. J. Did an amazing job at telling a story that had everything in it. The details she used brought the story to life for me, however I am upset with her because now I have to wait to find out what happens with the rest of Genevieve’s story. The book was fantastic!

An incredible story full of adventure, action, and passion. B.J.J. Lierz has a way of writing that pulls you so deep into the story, you'll have a hard time coming back to reality. The world building is incredible and the character growth is immaculate. This is definitely one book that I will keep forever. I may just read it again soon!

This book was fascinating! A world and magic system that I haven’t seen before, and I love reading something new. Interesting story and I liked how it flowed. It slowed down when necessary and then sped up in a way that felt natural to the story. The fast pace towards the end adding to the frantic feeling. Enjoyed thoroughly and can’t wait to see more from BJJ Lierz!

This is such a great read. It has shifters magic, great spice and there is violence so please check the cw on author website. Genevieve is very head strong brave and very confident in her self. She is my nee book girlfriend. I cant wait to read more by this author.

OMG Fabulous book. Great characters, wonderful love story. The heroine is a strong person with deep feelings. It kept me captivated until I finished it.

EASILY one of my top 5 reads of 2022. I will suggest this book to everyone. It's a masterpiece and I loved every single minute of it!

ok there are some elements to this book that are....ridiculous....but also the story kept my attention, there are some undercurrents of themes I will keep pondering for a while, and I'm happy to support this author. I'm in for Book 2!
