Welcome to Fort Lauderdale... where the days are hot and the Knights are hotter!

I gave up everything for hockey… even my chance at love. But relocating to Florida to be the starting goalie for the Lauderdale Knights is still the best decision I’d ever made. I have everything… except someone to share it with.

As the league’s Most Valuable Player, I have my choice of women, but the one I want broke my heart. When she gets injured, I finally get the second chance I’ve been waiting for.

Being a female professional hockey player is hard. Doing the right thing is even harder. And I would know. Breaking things off with my college boyfriend so we could both have a shot at a career… was the wrong move.

When a party gets out of control, I find myself reaching out to the only man I’ve ever loved—the sexy-as-sin goalie for the Lauderdale Knights. Nothing like a concussion to break the ice. Turns out the sparks between us burn hotter than ever.

I don’t know if there’s a chance to fix what I broke, but my heart is telling me I have to try.

Sure Shot is a well written and very enjoyable story, with nice characters and a good storyline.
I got sucked right in Sutton and Camden's story.

Sutton and Camden are hockey players. They were a couple until life pulled them in different paths after college and Sutton broke off their relationship. Now, after more than a year apart, when Sutton needs a friend more than anything else Camden lends her a hand.

Camden is a real sweetheart, I adored him, he touched my heartstrings.. Sutton for me is relatable, her doubts and apprehension for the future is perfectly understandable. You can see they are made for each other, their feelings and attraction for each other are pretty obvious even after they were apart for more than a year, but they have to work through their issues in order to enjoy their second chand at being happy together.

I am happy to recommend this novel to whoever like sports romance and second chance at love trope.

Have I addressed the greatness of these covers yet because they should be immensely appreciated for their grit and overall rugged aesthetic which consequentially is perfection if you’re advertising an aggressive sport such as hockey. MAD PROPS.

Now, about this story … a second chance to get it right … *heart eyes* my #happyplace #swoon

I loved the romance in this story, but what stole the show for me was Sutton and the representation of the ridiculous misogyny in her sports career thus far. It was incorporated in the story realistically and organically and it added a deep layer to an already good storyline. There was an air of anticipation and anxiety for both Camden & Sutton in regard to their future careers and that set this story apart from most sports romances I’ve read. You normally only have one lead in the spotlight of whatever sport story is written and I just loved that this one was for both. It was fresh and unique for me.

Now, about Gabe … gimme his story right now!! :)

This was a great second chance romance!

I really felt for Sutton at the start. Here she was living her dream and her life sucked so much! Barely making any money, living in a crazy situation, having to work multiple jobs, just to be fortunate enough play professional women's hockey and eat. What a load of crap!

I hate to say it, but Sutton's injury was the best thing for her, the timing was right with Cam being in town and him helping her. That put her in the mind of the powers that be in Lauderdale for an unexpected opening and Cam sharing what he thought it would take to get her there.

Once Sutton was in FL, you knew something would start back up with her and Cam. I liked the 2 of them together, was glad that they talked about the past, wished they would have hit the bigger points though. And while it seemed things were going great for Sutton, all of a sudden they weren't for Cam and he kinda became a whiney little bitch! I get it, he felt like he had a lot at stake to loose. I was glad when he manned up and asked, then got the answer he needed.

I LOVED how Sutton stepped in to help the team and how excited everyone was for her and how good of a job she did! She deserved it and more. My only wish was that we could have seen reactions from her former teammates and their thoughts.

In the end, I liked where Sutton and Cam were. They faced some pretty big issues, really talked about things and decided they were it for each other and set about making it happen.

What fantastic second chance hockey romance! I love Camden and Sutton’s story! They were in a three year relationship in college until Sutton broke up with him breaking his heart. When life circumstances bring them back together will they be able to work through hurt feelings and start their relationship again? Their feelings and chemistry was strong as ever. I loved them as a couple. Their story grabbed me from the first page. I couldn’t put it down! I can’t wait for Rough Shot! The next book in the Lauderdale Knights series!

Another Great read!
I absolutely devoured Cam & Sutton’s book! I love these characters & this series. I appreciate the addressing of how much women’s hockey (as well as other professional sports) players & teams have to fight for funds, credibility & just the idea of trying to level the playing field.

Kat Mizera brings us Sutton and Camden’s second chance romance with Sure Shot!

College sweethearts, Sutton broke up with Camden because she couldn’t handle the thought of a long distance relationship when he moved to Florida to be the starting goalie for the Lauderdale Knight. While the break up was Sutton’s idea, however, she never truly got over Cam even though she appeared to move on. her space.

And, while Camden is living his dream as the starting goalie for the Lauderdale Knights he hasn’t gotten serious with anyone because the one woman he really wants didn’t want him anymore.

But, when Sutton is injured in a game and Cam just happens to be in the same city for his game, he can’t stop himself from reaching out to her. And, with a season ending injury for Sutton, everything is about to change for them both again.

I enjoyed this couple so much. I loved that their relationship wasn’t easy and that they had some real issues with communicating with one another, which led to a bunch of missed opportunities and time together.

Cam is such a sweetheart! It's so clear he never got over Sutton and wanted things to work out. I really enjoyed his side story and the mental games it played with him as he struggled professionally with changes on the team.

And, Sutton, was a real surprise. I had so much respect for her character and the sacrifices she made for the sport she loved. I adored that Kat brought the inequalities of pro women’s sports to light in this book and just how much these athletes can struggle to make even a living wage. She has a truly incredible moment in this book that was just joyous to read.

Both characters grew so much through this book, both personally and as a couple and it was fun watching them finally get the happy ever after they deserved. 4.5 stars!

I received a complimentary early release e-book prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This book is really about girl power, girl bosses and that sometimes dreams change and that's okay to find a new path to follow. I absolutely adored this romance, and I loved Sutton so much. She was a huge inspiration.

This story is a stand-alone in the series, but it also features lots of different characters that if you have read this authors books you will see in this book. It was really great seeing those characters interact with Cam and Sutton throughout this book.

This is a second chance romance between Cam and Sutton. They met in college and fell hard for each other. They were together for 3 years but when Cam goes pro and he moves to Florida they break up. They have been on a break for 18 months until this book begins.

She plays professional hockey on a Women's team as goalie in New York. She is paid so little that she lives with several other people and has to waitress on the side to make ends meet. Everything is great until she gets injured...

Meanwhile Cam is loving his team and life in Florida until he is in NYC to play some games and he sees Sutton is hurt. He rushes to her side to make sure she is okay, and that's how these two end up reconnecting.

This was a really fun story and I loved watching Sutton follow her dreams even as sometimes you have to grow up and face the realities and maybe change your dreams to be happy.

In this story Camden was her hero and I loved how awesome he was. No matter what he is always there for Sutton, and I love how open and welcoming he was in bringing her into his life. This was such an inspiring book, and I was totally cheering Sutton on during this book.

I absolutely love this series and it has become one of my favorite hockey romance series. “Sure Shot” is an emotional, steamy and fun second chance romance. I loved the chemistry between Sutton and Camden.

Camden is the talented, up and coming goalie star of the Ft. Lauderdale Knights. He’s having the best season of his career and while on a road trip, he makes a connection with the woman who broke his heart. Sutton is also a professional goalie in the women’s league but is struggling with making ends meet because the women are severely underpaid. But when an injury leaves her sideline for the rest of the season, an opportunity to work with the Knights comes up. But that also means she’ll be back in the same city with the only man she ever loved.

Sutton and Camden had such amazing chemistry and I loved their second chance romance. Camden was a favorite right from beginning because tattoo goalies are my favorite in books and in real life. He’s caring, a great friend and teammate and will do anything to help anyone when needed. I loved how the story focused on some of his struggles as goalie and sharing the role with another superstar goalie. And I was so excited to read about Sutton and how she’s a professional goalie in the women’s league. Her struggles became my struggles because of the pay gap and lack of respect women get in a male predominant world. Sutton and Camden connected on so many levels, physically and emotionally, and I loved how they were both goalies. Sutton has a huge moment in the book that was my favorite part of the book. I cannot wait for the next book in this series.

Kat Mizera’s books are always a 5-star read with great storylines, wonderful characters; quickly grabbing your interest and emotions. Sure Shot is a great addition to the Fort Lauderdale Knights series.

Sutton and Camden had a terrific 3 year relationship in college and then suddenly, out of the blue Sutton broke up with Camden, breaking his heart. While in NYC on a road trip with the Knights, Camden sees a video Sutton suffering an on ice injury. A visit to her hospital room brings the ex’s face-to-face again. Emotions and attraction are stirred up and both are currently single.

Once reconnected can they work through the hurt and what’s transpired in the 19 months they’ve been apart? Camden also has extra stress to deal with when his team brings in a strong veteran goalie who seems to be threatening Camden’s starting position.

Sutton is living in Ft. Lauderdale working for the temporarily for the team’s youth league and making friends with the wives and girlfriends of Camden’s teammates. I loved Camden’s teammates offering him relationship advice and pushing him towards Sutton.

Great story and a chance to appreciate appearances by beloved characters from prior books in the series.

Sutton Cahill, 22 was a goalie playing professional women's hockey for the New York Mustangs.
Camden Locke, 23 was a goalie playing professional hockey for the Lauderdale Knights.

Sutton and Camden had met in college. For three years they had been best friends, lovers, and partners in crime. She ended up breaking up with him when he got the job with the Knights and she wasn't sure she wanted to follow him since she had her own dreams of playing professionally.

Since she is paid so little as a pro women's hockey player she has to have a 2nd job and is barely getting by and then she gets injured and it's a possible career ending one at that. Her roommates are having a party that is getting out of hand and knowing Camden was in town for his game she calls him for help.

They have been broken up for 18 months but Cam has no problems helping her. He offers her a place to stay with him until she heals and figures out what she wants to do. They still have so much chemistry and care about each other.

She is lucky and gets a PT job working for the Knights Junior program while the regular person is out on maternity leave.

Things are going so well for both of them. The love is there but the pressure is building for Cam with his game. Is this going to come between them again?

4.5 stars
Loved the story and seeing his teammates from previous stories.

Kat Mizera gets a shutout with SURE SHOT (Lauderdale Knights #5). Female professional hockey goalie, Sutton Cahill broke up with her college boyfriend to pursue her career. No one has compared to Cam.

Starting goalie for the Lauderdale Knights, Camden Locke, heart was torn apart when Sutton broke things off. Now he is playing a series of away games in New York, and he discovers that Sutton had a season-ending injury.

I loved this story. Kat Mizera does an amazing job with this second-chance romance. Sutton and Cam dated for three years, they were perfect together. Life as a female professional hockey player wasn’t what Sutton was expecting. The pay wasn’t enough to live on. She needed a second job. To top it off, she gave up the love of her life.

No woman ever measured up to Sutton. Cam deleted all of Sutton’s contact information when she called things quits. When he finds out about her injury, he visits her at the hospital. The ball is in Sutton's court…or should I say the puck is in her rink.

SURE SHOT is skillfully written. It is full of interesting situations and experiences. Sutton and Cam are an adorable couple that you cannot help but root for. It is the perfect addition to the Lauderdale Knights series. I am anxiously awaiting Slava and Zoe’s story, ROUGH SHOT, next. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Camden and Sutton were college sweethearts until Sutton broke things off abruptly when Cam was headed to the NHL. She finished school and went on to play in the Women’s hockey league but it’s safe to say that neither on got over the breakup. When Sutton is injured during a game, Cam just happens to be in town with his team for an extended road trip. After a quick visit to the hospital, the door is open and soon after Sutton comes crashing in needing Cam’s help.
Now spending more time together, Remy Knight makes Sutton an offer she can’t refuse and will take her to Ft. Lauderdale where her and Cam can continue their relationship.
There is a bit of drama between the two as they are both afraid to speak their truths and Cam is off kilter with the arrival of NHL veteran goalie Gabe de Lugo. Even with all the distractions, I loved how these two acted like mature adults, rolled with the punches and came out stronger together. Great addition to the Knights series!
Wait a minute, I’m not done yet because not only did we get to meet Gabe, but he’s got his own bonus epilogue that gives us a peek into the upcoming LA Phantom team!! Kat will certainly make us fall in love with this guy and I’m there for it!!!

Camden and Sutton have sparks that jump off the page. Camden is living his dream as the starting goalie for the Fort Lauderdale Knights but in the back of his head he knows something is missing, He knows what that something is but doesn't think its reachable. While on the road in NYC he see a video if his ex girlfriend from collage get hurt while playing hockey. Next thing he knows he has to go see her in her hospital room. As soon as he enters the room the feeling and sparks are back. Ironically they are both single but can they overcome the last 19 months they have been apart and issues that separated them. Sutton ends up working in Fort Lauderdale for the team's youth league which causes her to start becoming close to some of the wives and girlfriends. That causes some of his teammates to start to try and give him relationship and romance advice. Can they come to the realization that they are stronger together especially when the Knights bring in a veteran goalie that challenges Camden's starting position. It is great to watch Camden and Sutton find the love that they both have for one another. As always one of the best aspects is to see previous and new characters be part of the story.

I love Kat Mizera's books and this one is no different. It was a one day read for me.
Sutton Cahill made her dream of being a professional hockey goalie a reality at the cost of her 3 year relationship with her college boyfriend, Cam. The problem was the Women's Hockey of America League didn't pay enough to live on...especially in New York. It meant having another job and multiple roommates. When an injury puts Sutton out for the last month of the season and unable to waitress she has some decisions to make.
Camden Locke is the starting goalie for the Knights in their second season of existence. He's also Sutton's ex and in NYC when she gets hurt. He decides to visit her in the hospital setting off all the old feelings...for both of them. When his back up goalie gets traded away for a veteran goalie, Cam's status with the team comes into question throwing him into a tail spin.
You can always expect the leading couple to get together, but what they have to go through to get there is always a mystery. It was refreshing to see Sutton stay so strong and even excel through it all. YOU GO GIRL!
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Camden and Sutton

This was a great, feel good get back together with your ex story. What I liked about this one that was different than some of the other sports stores, is that both of these people were athletes. Both of this couple, shared their love of the game of hockey. , But only Sutton, as a woman , had to deal with low pay, no health care and nobody taking the women’s sport of hockey seriously. Sutton felt like she had to push Camden away because of choices she needed to make for the game she loved. She loved hockey, but knew that she couldn’t sustain playing for very long and make a living off of it. And, even though she pushed Camden away, when she needed him most he came back to help her . One of the parts of the story I love the most was giving the details of what women athletes go through as opposed to men’s athletic teams. The unbalance of recognition that women have in sports as opposed to men. I felt that was really interesting. in the end though I absolutely loved their relationship. Camden is a sweetheart and these two are a perfect pair. I can’t wait for the next story.

A heartfelt and emotional reunion of first loves! The fifth book in Kat Mizera's Lauderdale Knights hockey series is heartstring pulling worthy and sexy to boot! The plot quickly hooked me and the endearing characters and their turmoil kept me by their side throughout. I really enjoyed Cam and Sutton and look forward to more to come in the series!

Camden is an all around good guy who might be riding the high of playing in the big leagues at the moment, but he never got over the heartbreak of losing his one true love. Seeing them reconnect is really heartwarming.

Sutton is accomplished and strives for the top, but injury, burnout and life's hard knocks are making her second guess her past decisions. I loved seeing her get to spread her wings.

I highly recommend this book as well as the entire series to anyone that loves a group of close knit hockey players who know how to have fun, yet always have each others backs and enjoy bringing new members into the fold as one after another settles into love.

You know when you have an author who is not you go-to but every time you pick up their book you're left wondering WTH is wrong with you?! That author is Kat Mizera for me. I've read just a few of her books and each has been brilliant so as of this moment she's going to the -go-to list!

Now back to this story and our lovely couple. If there ever was a female character I could contact, it would be Sutton. As a former pro athlete I could understand her struggles when it comes to playing the sport you love. It hit a few spots of my past that I thought I had dealt with and just like Cam, I needed a minute to push through it. It was quite an emotional read mixed with wanting to hug them both and say it will all work out at the end.

This story was more than just a hockey romance. It was a story of growth and finding solid ground to stand on, in order to give your best self to the one you love the most.

Another visit to Fort Lauderdale and time to catch up with the Lauderdale Knights. This is Camden and Sutton’s second chance at love and I have to say this is a wonderful addition to this great series.
Camden and Sutton had their life’s mapped out but in order from them both to have a shot at playing professional hockey they needed to go their separate ways and as much as it hurt it was the only way forward at that time. Truth be told they never really got over each other so when Sutton is injured and fate puts them in the same town they soon reconnect. Sutton knows she needs to fix the damage she caused but will Camden give her the opportunity……one click to find out.
I loved everything about this book, I fell hard and fast for Camden and I adored Sutton, I swooned, I sighed but more importantly I found myself cheering this couple on. Can’t wait for my next catch up with the Lauderdale Knights.

Sure Shot is a fantastic read. I loved this one so much. If you love those second chances then you are going to just love Camden and Sutton's story so much. Camden and Sutton were college sweethearts with big dreams of going pro in hockey. Camden's dream came true and the long distance wasn't what Sutton wanted. Sutton is struggling with the women's hockey league and working a second job. Fate and injury brought them back together and it is just the sweetest how Camden takes care of Sutton. Both are talented goalies and in a rut. You feel for Camden as the stress and the not knowing what really is going on with sharing his starting position. You feel for Sutton with the decisions she is forced to make. Camden and Sutton are amazing together. I love the pull you feel from the start. I love the support Sutton brings to the table. This is a second chance you will not want to miss out on. I cannot wait for more Lauderdale Knights books to come. I love this series and book so much.

Sure Shot, book five in the Lauderdale Knights series is a second chance and hockey romance all rolled into one with an engaging storyline and memorable characters.
Camden and Sutton have a one of a kind love that took a detour when Sutton made the decision to break up after Camden moved to Florida to play for the Knights and she stayed behind to persue her dreams of playing professional hockey. Now, after months apart and an injury, Sutton is reevaluating her future and it coincides with Camden showing up back in her life. Maybe they can work out their relationship this time around. Camden is dealing with his own professional challenges as the starting goalie for the Knights and having Sutton by his side is making his life easier, until he messes it up.
These two have so much in common professionally and they have undeniable chemistry personally. They just have to figure it all out in order to have their happily ever after.

The Lauderdale Knights series continues to bring us characters to fall in love with! Cam and Sutton have a history, but their relationship didn’t survive his moving away to play NHL hockey while she finished college. It hasn’t been that long that they have been apart, so when Sutton is injured during a women’s hockey game and Can just happens to be in the same city, it makes sense for him to check on her in the hospital. Readers can see the sparks fly immediately! From that moment forward it is tension (mostly the good kind😉), affection and an obvious love that never really went away, despite a year and a half apart. Kat Mizera has given us two people facing various challenges that effect their entire futures, individually and as a couple, while also maneuvering their way through a reunion that they both want so badly to succeed and survive!

Sutton broke both her and Cam’s heart when she ended their relationship as she believed that their relationship wouldn’t be able to withstand the demands of their hockey careers. When an injury leaves her financially unable to support herself she didn’t expect help and a job to come through the man she left 18 months earlier.

When Cam finds out that Sutton is injured he knows he needs to see her despite the pain her leaving caused. The chemistry and connection between them is stronger than ever and they now find themselves working for the same hockey organization. Will this be their second chance or will the demands of their careers drive them apart once again?

Sutton and Cam give us a realistic look at the challenges of being a professional athlete as well as women’s hockey. I enjoyed seeing them work them through not only their past but the obstacles in the present as well.

5 Star Review of Sure Shot (Lauderdale Knights #5) by Kat Mizera

It was wonderful to be back in Fort Lauderdale with the Lauderdale Knights. Sure Shot, book five was a fabulous addition to the series and one I thoroughly enjoyed. This is Camden and Sutton’s story and was well written with characters whose story you cannot help but be drawn into.

Book five is Camden and Sutton’s story and I quickly became invested on the story that Ms. Mizera wove. This is a second chance at love story and one that ticked the boxes for me. From the moment they re-connected the attraction between them is just as intense as it ever was.

In order for them both to have a shot as professional hockey players they parted ways and now fate has put them together again after Sutton is injured, she is determined to fix the damage created years before.

Can they come to terms with the past and move on? One click and find out.

Will Sutton and Camden get their second chance?

Goalie Camden Locke has never forgotten his college girlfriend Sutton Cahill but finding out that Sutton was injured during her game as goalie for the New York Mustangs brought all his feelings for her. So they restart their friendship when she gets a temporary job with the Junior Knights. Maybe they can get a second chance at love?

I loved where Camden and Sutton get their second chance since they are both goalies but the end of the story was perfect for Sutton and Camden! Plus you really should read Sure Shot again because there are so many little bits and pieces that make the story so good.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from the author and 1852 Media. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

They say scoring 4 goals in hockey is a Texas hat trick well I feel Kat Mizera has scored 5 with Sure Shot and so we may need to call that a Florida Hat Trick?!!
Camden and Sutton had been on their way to the life they dreamed of until careers tore them apart. Now they are being given a second chance at love. Of course it's not going to be easy. There are decisions and compromises to be made, confessions to be shared and of course they must find their way back to the love they once shared.
This story of first love, second chances, friends to lovers once again will bring your heart to a thrilling beat. Looking forward to the next installment or crossover from this one!

This is the latest installment in the Knights series and if you have been reading, you are familiar with Camden. He is the hot, tattooed goalie that is so much fun. When he runs into the love of his life Sutton, who has her own hockey career going, will love get a second chance? I am such a sucker for second chance romance and Ms Mizera has such skills with writing characters, they are all fresh and new and will have you rooting for them from beginning until the end. I loved that Sutton was a fierce female, she knew what she wanted and what she was working so hard for and wasn’t letting anything get in her way. I absolutely love this series and anxiously await every new book! If you have not met the Knights, what are you waiting for?

Cam and Sutton were a couple in college, but Sutton broke up with him, shattering his heart. Forward many months, Cam is a professional hockey player with the Lauderdale Knights. Sutton is also a professional hockey player for a team in New York in the women's league without all the benefits Cam has. Cam is in New York for a couple of games when he sees Sutton get injured in a game. He goes to the hospital to visit her. The feelings on either side never went away. Is this their second chance to get it right?

Cam is a sweetheart and I loved the way he loved Sutton. They are both wonderful characters and I loved them together. As always it was nice to see the other characters that we have met in the Lauderdale Knights world as well as the Sidewinders world . The story of Cam and Sutton was a wonderful addition to the Knights series.

This is the fifth book in this amazing series, and this is Camden and Sutton’s story. These two were in a relationship for three years, until Sutton broke Camden’s heart and ended things, so they could both follow their dreams. Now Camden is the starting goalie for the Lauderdale Knights, and Sutton is the starting goalie for a women’s hockey team the Mustangs. Sutton has a second job to help make ends meet, and when she suffers a season ending injury, she manages to get a temporary job with the Knights. This is a well written story with family, friendships, loyalty, trust, romance, second chances, emotions, heartbreak, and love, which leads to an entertaining, realistic, and steamy page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Getting to know Sutton in this story was so much fun! What does she do for a living? Who are Glenda and Autumn? How does Sutton know them? Who are Camden, Jude, and Vaughn? Where do we find them, and why? I found myself disliking Gabe. The ups and downs that Sutton goes through had my emotions on a roller coaster as I read the story. Who does Autumn get into a fight with? Why? What do you think we could learn about her significant other? What happens when Sutton gets a call about going back? What does she say that spectacularly blows things up, quite possibly? Why does she move to Florida? Is it a temporary or permanent thing? You need to see what happens by reading this story. I was all smiles by the end!

Cam is the hotshot starting goalie just two years in the NHL. He still pines for the one who broke his heart in college. Sutton is a goalie who gave up her shot at love with Cam due to her insecurities in them. When Sutton gets injured in a game, Cam sees a shot to see her again. The love is still strong between the two. Cam and Sutton need to find who they are with their 18-month absence apart. Mizera wrote a great look into the mindset of goalies with this couple understanding their position better than anyone and being there for each other when they need it. Being a couple isn't always rainbows and cupcakes, sometimes it's faith and hard work and that is the part that needs help. Completely loving the Lauderdale Knight series. Can’t wait for the next one.
