The Old Royce Estate being haunted and cursed was supposed to be just a spooky ghost story–until Lottie stumbles across three desiccated vampires and accidentally disturbs their slumber. To thank her, they attack her and suck her dry. In a desperate attempt to save her life, her witch friend, Ava, links their lives together–if they kill her, it kills them.
But to save her life, she must drink their blood and become bound to them. Without doses of their blood, she will wither and die. Ava binds the vampires to the estate in an attempt to save the town and her friend from their bloodlust, but Lottie gets trapped with them, and they’re starving.
It’s a race against time and instinct to break the spells trapping them together before the vampires succumb to their nature and turn on Lottie. Trapped with three vampires, a surly familiar of a cat, and the vengeful ghost of Old Royce Estate, will Lottie survive or worse, will she become just as monstrous as the beasts she’s trapped with?
A lot of Insta love going on with this one. The fact that the heroine is in a better place emotionally at the end, even when she didn't know it was an issue was nice. I did have am issue about the BFFs relationship in the end as it felt like an abandoned point, making their great friendship seem inconsequential to the FMC.
DNF @ 59%. The start of this was good and exciting, but now it’s dragingggggggg. Lottie is so annoying, I feel like I’m reading about a teenager. I have to keep reminding myself she’s in her 20s but that’s hard to do when she’s throwing temper tantrums about literally nothing. Also we’re over halfway and still no spice and still in the same situation we were in at 20%. I just can’t do more of this
This book’s tropes are everything I love, so I had super high hopes. Don’t get me wrong, I have quite a few highlights, I just didn’t enjoy it nearly as much as I thought I would. I liked the MCs well enough, even though that took several chapters. I didn’t care for the FMC at all. She gave off woe is me, pick me vibes and honestly just had such a mocking, poor attitude with the guys. The spice felt super awkward and stilted, and I don’t think the plot was fleshed out well enough. At only 260ish pages, it’s a quick read, but it took me about 4 days to get through because I just didn’t feel connected to the story.
This was so good. Lottie.....so naive in the beginning. But she learns to embrace her darker side as the story unfolds. Ava.....lottie's witchy best friend......oh I absolutely love this girls sass and attitude Our men 🥵 Elias.....the possessive, yet controlled one. And not just over her. He's the "leader" of the three men Finny....so sweet! OMG I couldn't get over him. Yes, he does have a demon side, but still the sweetest Monty....... pompous jerk from the start! Unhinged, and just a jerk! I want to bring him home tho
Seeing Lottie get bonded to these 3, unknowingly and unwillingly was just the beginning. She ended trapped in the mansion with them so she had to survive 3 vampires that can't eat.......and survive the haunted mansion! I'm glad there was an HEA to give the closure. Well written as well. Subtle banter and hidden comedy and nostalgia.
Lottie being a good best friend of course she would want to help her best friend. Now if she ends up bound and trapped with some vampires what's she going to do.
The relationship between Lottie and the guys develops slowly which I appreciate. Going from not liking someone to more should definitely be a journey. The relationship developed naturally but I will say the end with all of them and the i love yous still felt rushed. Might just be me. Overall I enjoyed the journey.
Only because I am old enough to be your mom... but you did great kid! So proud of your next book! You made me like her, dislike her wishy washyness, love her push backness, and then love her again. Really well plotted and you closed it all just in time. I was scared there was going to be a cliff hanger when I saw I had 15 minutes in the book and the bad girl wasn't closed out yet...lol. Keep up the good work!
Review is only so I can remember the book. It's the one with the "witch" who doesn't know what she's doing, and takes her friend with her to get dirt for a spell. They get separated in the dark. The friend digs into the ground and pulls up a skeleton who is a vampire, then pulls up two more. In an effort to stop them killing her friend, the witch binds them together.

Entertaining but it was a little bit too short. Some things could’ve been more fleshed out. I also wished there was more of an ending or like an epilogue.
